| I watched the very first OVA many years ago on video and really enjoyed it, but the lack of story background and the shortness of it always urked me, so I was rather pleased when I found out that a TV series was being made. Admittedly it took me some time to buy the DVDs, but in the end I bought the extremely cheap ADV boxset that's just been released (£28 for the entire series ^_^).
I couldn't help but compare the characters to the OVA at the start, but it didn't take long to get hooked on the storyline or the characters and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. I was really pleased with the conclusion, which wasn't contrived and other than a major problem with Kanna's voice and Sakura not being as cool as she was in the first OVA, it was really very good ^_^

| Classic Goodies
This is my first Sakura Wars I watched and I think it have good stuff in it. The story flow well for old stuff. Although they try to bring all the chars out to the field but some are just too boring to looks at, for example Kanna's storm ep. was the most useless one. You could skip a couple of ep. that introuduce char and still you won't miss anything out.
I gave animation 7 cuz it was old. You'll see leaking color, camera angel were weak and less detail escially inside the koubu which they usually just show the charcter faces instead of other cool angel. Sound is ok. But is it just me or Sakura's voice kinda weird. It seem like she trying to be perky but holding something out at the sametime.
Still, I believe this Sakura Wars TV series is the best one in Sakura Wars movies.

| Sakura Wars T.V. is a decent overall show. The animation was not up to par with the OVA's, but the story was much better then anything but the movie. This series finally puts some background into the story, and for the first time the Kobu's actually fight. If you would like to know more read on.

| I have heard about Sakura Taisen being one of the best anime of the 20th century, so I gave it a look. Lo, and I wasn't disappointed. No wonder Sega--a stickler for quality--co-produced it with the aim of turning it into a game, which became one of the best for the Sega Saturn, and now, Sony PlayStation2 and the PC.

| I really can't help myself. I liked this show a lot. I don't understand most of the reviews were pretty harsh on this series. Let me give it to you straight: The animation was colorful, but not clear, it looked maybe 6 years old at this point, but not bad. Both opening and closing themes were very good, and the music was good as well. Story was lacking a bit as it was predictable, but STILL ENJOYABLE. Everybody fails to realize that. Just because the storyline isn't a convoluted mess doesn't mean it's not fun. Character development was good, I really cared about the characters. And otherwise I basically had a good time with this show. Don't let harsh reviews stop you, thsi is defintely a fun show. Just don't expect a ton of surprises. It had a few, but mostly the action and comedic parts kept me going. I recommend it(side note:Have the Japanese dialog on, please. The english voices are terrible. Thankful I watch everything subbed anyway, so I didn't notice except when I forgot to change the languages and was forced to hear those english voices for a few seconds)

| Being a fan since the beginning of the Sakura Taisen saga (that is from the first Saturn game in 1996), I strongly feel that this TV series is a disgrace and was a big disappointment for me.
