| Well, I-ve seen this a while ago, and honestly I can-t remember all of it... which means, first of all, that this is certainly NOT a very good anime, or I would remember it quite well.
But, I do remember, that it was enjoyable. I actually made it through the whole series, so it can-t be that bad. I-d say it was an average anime serie.

| Houshin Engi started off really silly, and at the end of the 2nd episode I was seriously starting to wonder whether or not I should have gotten this. However, what seemed to come out of nowhere was an extreemly engrossing story with many characters and just as many intertwined relationships, both on the surface and behind the scenes that put together one of the best adventure stories I've seen. Taikobou is a great lazy lead hero and has a lot of simmilarities to Gokudo-kun. All the friends he meets along the way strenthen their band and their quest to save the Yin dynasty. Dakki's character was very well planned out I thought, as they were able to have a fanservice-ish female character be the main villian, but they also made her truly evil. By evil I mean Maestro Delphiene level of evil for those of you who have seen Last Exile. It's very, very hard to like her. Great characters, a suprisingly engrossing story with tons of twists, and a fresh setting in China made this show for me. Houshin Engi was well worth watching.

| I thought the series was good. Not good enough to want to keep me watching, but good enough for me to finish all 26-episodes. Overall I felt that everything was lacking. From story to character development; something felt left-out. The truly dramatic elements of the anime totally relied on music, Hollywood-antics, and seemed to come totally out of the blue. However, an anime worth seeing (over Yu-Gi-Oh anyways)

| This anime starts off slow yet with all slow stories, there is pay off towards the end. At times, the anime also gets dark. This is especially true when the two kidnapped Prince's return back to their homeland and learn that they can do nothing to stop the revolution taking place there. The fate that awaits the two is not pleasent.
The one thing that keeps the show from getting a 9 is how it ends. The entities introduced towards the end seemingly come out of nowhere. And the overall purpose of the Houshin project is left a little vague.

| Soul Hunter schien vielversprechend, doch leider wurden meine Erwartungen bitter enttäuscht. Angefangen bei der Storyline die von der ersten Episode an flach und oberflächlich bleibt und den roten Faden nur schemenhaft zu erkennen gab. Die Story ist an sich nicht schlecht doch die Ausführung miserabel. Die Storywriter haben es sich in vielen Punkten zu einfach gemacht und die meisten Vorkommnisse in diesem Anime relativ lächerlich gelöst. So taucht zum Beispiel wie aus dem Nichts eine Figur auf um der Story Schub zu verleihen, was aber extrem auffällt und somit nur Kopfschütteln bei mir geerntet hat. Stichpunkt Charaktere: Unsere Protagonist ist wohl eine der lächerlichsten Entschuldigungen für einen Helden die ich je gesehen habe. Er wird einfach zu vertrottelt dargestellt und ist schon nach wenigen Episoden kaum mehr ernst zu nehmen. Dasselbe auf der Gegenseite: Dakki soll wohl äußerst bedrohlich und fiese wirken, doch das tut sie nicht aus den oben bereits genannten Gründen. Eine Serie zu genießen wo weder der Held noch der Bösewicht überzeugen können ist nur schwer bis gar nicht möglich und da retten auch die vielen Nebenfiguren nichts (die zum Großteil aber auch blass bleiben und lieblos in die Story eingefügt zu sein scheinen). Sicher, es gibt noch die vielen Kämpfe und man könnte annehmen das die verschiedenen Fähigkeiten der Charaktere wenigstens der Action auf die Sprünge helfen doch auch hier glänzt Soul Hunter nur mit Einfallslosigkeit und die meisten Abilitys kennt man schon hundertfach aus anderen Serien. Ich muss zwar zugeben das der Anime gegen Ende etwas an Fahrt gewinnt doch das ändert so gut wie nichts am enttäuschenden Gesamtbild. Fazit: Soul Hunter ist eine Serie die man nicht wirklich gesehen haben muss und es gibt etliche alternative Shonen-Serien die um EINIGES besser sind! Da bleib ich lieber bei HxH und Shaman King.

| I only finished watching half of the series and then stopped. I don't think the anime is as funny as the manga and it can be quite boring sometimes. Most of the interesting parts shown in the manga have been changed or removed in the anime and i wish they have put them in. I suggest not reading the manga first or u will most likely get disappointed witht the anime. But, overall, it's still an ok anime. (nth great)The opening/ending themes are not bad, prob the onli good pts of the anime.

| I was a bit wary of this series when I first started watching, but the interesting characters kept me going.
Once I saw how Dakki dealt with the Lord of the West's son, I knew this was no ordinary story.
Its really pretty schizophrenic in its story telling, one moment just light and hard to take serious, and then the next moment can just stun you with its depth.
