| Lina Inverse and her crew from Slayers TV continue their adventures in a new season.
If you liked Slayers TV, you'll love Slayers Next, because it's as funny as the first season, and has an even better storyline which gets very dramatic at the end of the season..
If you are a fan of rpgs, or just like goofy slapstick comedy mixed with magical quest adventuring, this is the series for you.
By the way, the English dub is unusually good, especially the voice of Lina Inverse.

| En lo personal prefiero Slayers Next, la lucha contra Fibrizo, esa saga es la mejor de la serie, y respecto a los personajes, q manera de rirme con Gourry, era un verdadero idiota, pero me reia harto con el... gran serie, tengo buenos recuerdos de ella

| overall slayers next steps up one level in comparison to his predecessor. it is funnier, with a better story and a more suitable opening and ending song. the same characters again with my favourite lina inverse who is in my opinion the most likeable character ever.
ENJOYMENT
i like all of the slayers series. simple story, hilarious scenes and lina inverse make this anime so enjoyable. want to have an easy time watching anime, slayers next is a sure thing

| I thought this was a great improvement from Slayers; even if you didn't like Slayers you could still like Slayers Next.
Slayers Next is paced faster, funnier, better animation, and there are some great additions to the cast of the characters

| Fun and entertaining as always, Slayers manages somehow to improve. Maybe it's because the story feels more serious (doesn't mean it's serious...Just more serious than season 1).
You have liked the fun and random events of Slayers, its unique and powerfull spells, the high coolness factor of its characters (well...I know that there is Prince Phil...), the simple but dramatic fights and of course the incredibly perfect cuteness of Lina Inverse... it's all here in Slayers Next and even more !

| The second Slayers season of SOFTX. Since I watched all seasons in succession and not independently, I'd review it a little differently than if I had seen it for the first time as an introduction to Slayers.
This is a continuation of the first season. The jokes and adventures continue, the general picture has improved, new characters are introduced, but basically
this is the same as the first season. But it is as equally enjoyable. Read also my review of the first season, and Slayers Try as well (not only my reviews of course!)

| Lina Inverse is back to take names, kick ass and wreck the whole world in the process !!
After defeating the dark lord Shabranigdo and Rezo the Red Priest ( 2 times!), begins the second season of Slayers !
This season boasts a much better story than the first season, with lotsa twists and turns that will keep you glued to the screen.
The plot begins with Lina and co. searching for the Claire Bible, which may contain the key to free Zelgadis from the curse which makes him look like a golem, but soon evolves to a battle between the Slayers and different Lords of the Monster Race, but still the Claire Bible will play a key role in the story.
Of course, Slayers wouldn't be complete without all it's zany characters !!
Everyone is back, funnier than ever, and there are also newcomers to the slayers frenzy !
The new characters are Zellos, an ironic, mysterious mage, which is quite funny, but also has a secret agenda, and my favorite, Martina which is a lunatic ex-princess from a kingdom Lina destroyed, and she wants revenge ! Oh, and she also workships a fake god invented by herself...go figure!
of course, almost all scenes Martina is in are veeery funny, and i absolutely loved the combo she and lina make !
absolute stupidity :)
The second season of Slayers improves in a lot of ways over it's predecesor, very notably the animation, and the music was much better, also.
I really liked NEXT, it took slayers to the NEXT level, made it funnier, gave it a better story and higher production values....really recommended!

| Another wonderful series of Slayers, with the same wonderful cast of characters, plus a few new ones. Another intriguing storyline and the same wonderful comedy, added with a little drama, make this more than a match for the original (but I can't say I prefer this one to the first!).

| When it come to 2nd there's not much choice to made. Either made it totally crap, fast pace like hell, or make another well-plan-plot mystery and this chooce the last goodie.
Slayer NEXT is good, althou not funny as the first one and you'll some annoying people pop-up but this it got story. STORY I SAY! Well plot and plan out very well through out the season. Xellos is good... Lina and the rest are.. crap. Guts is pretty the only thing left in them to fight the hellmaster or whatever. Also they put some stupid useless fanservices for Martina in this one. Don't take it seriously cuz Martina gonna say good bye at the end of this season. Other than that annoying bitch, everything goes out as I(we, you, and the rest of crew) expected.
Nicely plan, worth a watch.. and don't miss the last ep. or else you'll curse yourself with a fireball spell. Hint *K..iss..... su..* >_< Blah *Poom ran away*

| First thing that comes into mind when watching Slayers Next is that the first half is a bit of a disappointment. Been there, seen that, done it. It's still a fun fantasy adventure but I wanted some improvement compared to the first series.
Luckily after the half way mark things changed. There was a change to a more absurd humor. The episodes with idol singers, tennis players, cross-dressers, they all had me rolling and laughing. And in the mean time the actual plot started to thicken and came to a dramatic conclusion. It had more power than the either end of the first series. And I'm so happy that they didn't mess Lina's and Gourry's relationship at the end.
The new characters are interesting and fun. Xellos is mysterious and weird and his origin ends up being at par with my expectations. Martina is simply hysterical. The old gang continues their enjoyable interactions. It's really the characters that make Slayers good.
Despite the first half being a little disappointing, the other half is excellent and makes this series better than its predecessor. Anyhow, if you liked the first series, you'll definately like this one too. Same stuff, different wrapping.

| Although using the same formula as its predecessor, Slayers NEXT is undoubtedly better than the first season. Whereas the first season had a great first half and an unsatisfactory second half, NEXT has it the other way around. Though the first half of the series is plodding, it makes up for it by its dramatic and somber last episodes, charming absurdity, and an amusing new character. All in all, if you enjoyed the first season, then there's no doubt you'll enjoy NEXT, as well.

Theres no doubt that the jokes are funnier, but this isnt the only thing thats better.
The animation was the better, sound was better.
Even the story is more interesting. Although the plot keeps changing as the series goes on it is never confusing and never gets boring.
Xellos and Martina really add to this series. All the characters are funnier than in the previous series, especially Zel.

| Though this is basically more of the same for Slayers fans, I liked this series quite a bit more than the original one. The animation and drawing style is basic, just like last time. Both the English and Japanese voices are fine apart from the occasional one-time English voiceover. Personally I really liked the music for this series, it's my favourite music from all Slayers series.
I liked the new characters, Xellos and Martina. I liked the whole mysteriousness about him, and how he would always come in the nick of time to blast things to pieces. I also liked his quasi-catchphrase, "That is a secret". Even though he turns out to be part of the evil Mazoku race, he is a classic example of a Neutral character, and very likable. Martina can be annoying, but can also be very funny. All the usual characters are as good as ever.
The storyline may be a bit unoriginal and/or cliched, but I thought it was better than the first one. There's just something I found compelling about the whole story, and it even managed to catch me offguard with a surprising twist.
Summary: This is a great series, essential for D&D-style fantasy or comedy fans, aswell as people who liked the original Slayers series.

| The Slayers series are very addicting and enjoyable to watch. Such very interesting characters with great personalities and humor that keep you wanting to watch more and more. We were introduced to 2 new characters and had to wait for a couple from the first series to show up way later, which bugged me, but oh well. Great story, old school graphics and music!

| Despite the dated animation, Slayers Next manages to have a decent enough look. As in the original Slayers serious, my favorite things about Next are the characters and the sense of humor. The timing of the physical comedy is PERFECT. The reactions to stupidity occur a second before you expect them to, so it never gets stale. The characters are all well developed and true to themselves. Xellos is a great addition to the cast. I enjoyed this immensely and I'm eagerly diving head first into Slayers Try.

| Dated animation, cliche jokes/characters and a somewhat predictable plot..not a good mix. Strangely enough, I enjoyed this show immensely. I couldnt stop myself from smiling or letting out a faint chuckle whenever I watch an episode. Not as great as..say..Fumoffu, but I suppose Slayers next has truckloads of lighthearted chuckles in it. Definitely worth seeing.

| The pinnacle of almost anything an anime could offer. Few things are funnier. Droves of series wish they had such interesting characters. Many fall short of the amazing story and the depth of the world. I've seen this series several times, and it promises to draw my attention for years to come. The only anime out there that rivals its genius, in my opinion, would be RahXephon or GitS:SAC. This obiviously means that Slayers NEXT is the absolute boss of the fantasy genre.

| Ahh, just finished this series an hour ago. What a funride! If you just watched a very serious anime, like say Berserk, this light comedy might be just what you are looking for. Furthermore, if you allready watched the original slayers, then what are you reading this for? Go watch this anime allready! The review:
This is in many ways like the original series only much improved, with a deeper plot and more danger in store for Lina and the gang. The characters are great and very likable, and you cant help laughing at their funny remarks/insults for each other. There isnt much character development (i dont think there is any really), but who cares! The characters are allready great, no need for improvement there. And the characters are definitely what makes the series funny.
I must say they stuck a perfect balance between comedy and seriousness. The show starts out very light and comical, but the plot thickens towards the end and gets serious as it should. The plot is sound and if there were any holes, i missed them. The orchestral background themes are very well done and fit the show perfectly, whether the situation is serious or funny. Its definitely better than most in my opinion.
A wellrounded and funny show. Go watch it now!

| If Slayers was fun, Slayers Next was a rollercoaster of laugher. Endless witty punchlines, inspired gags and characters that have a great humor value. The story is not something great per se, but adds to the fun factor. There are some serious moments, but nothing to spoil the fun, just icing to the cake. Awesome.
