| Well first of all this wasn't in the manga at all. It was written by the studio or production company so it's bound to be doomed.
I personally watcheda alll slayers series on tv so my enjoyment is quite high. It's worth watching, just not by putting effort into watching like dvd renting/buying.
I think it was just made for the money or it's just bound to get old.
If you're a fan of slayers, slayers next this is great to watch but it might seem stale with the "repetitiveness" and just getting old.

| This is the final and in technical aspects the best season of SOFTX. But if you want to get introduced to Slayers better watch the first season, since here things are a little different and have not much to do with the novel ''Slayers''. They have more to do with the novel ''Lost Universe'' by the same author.
In that sense all the episodes could be considered as fillers. Now some Slayers fans would mind but I didnt. If I had read the novel though I'd find some things out of place.

| Slayers Try is the finale to the Slayers TV show, and boy, it's a great way to end it !
After destroying not one, but TWO Monster Lords last season, it appears a barrier that was separating Lina's continent has been lifted and there a whole new world to explore !! after a ruckus of a start, Lina and Co. kinda unwillingly end up travelling to the new world, accompanied by Filia, a cute, proper, and quite innocent dragon priestess with a plead for them to save the world from upcoming chaos.
In the plot, we learn a lot about the "War of Monster's fall", and other historic events discussed in previous Slayers series, which is pretty neat.
The story has tons of twists and for the first time, Monsters, Gods/Dragons and Humans play pivotal roles in the story, which ends in a pretty climatic way.
The story is quite good, and very detailed so it may be possible to get a bit confused, but only if you aren't paying any attention.
But well, Slayers wouldn't be Slayers without it's stupid gags, and even stuppider characters, and they are almost all here !!!
Linas is as spunky (and badass if needed to be) as ever, and all the characters you've grown t love are pretty much up to the same (which IMHO isn't a bad thing)Goury, Zel, Amelia, Xellos and even Fishmen return for the finale !!
Missing in action are Sylphiel (whose only appearance is on an eye-catch), Martina, Zangulus, Phil (for the most part).
Filia, a dragon priestess girl who looks quite sweet and compassionate but also has some anger management problems joins this time as a main character, great addition, funny and deep(!) character.
Stupid "bad" guys like Jillas and the ogre guy come in as comic relief and help out the troubled "bad" guy Valgaav, a half dragon-monster guy who wants to avange Lord Gaav's death and kill Lina and Xellos.
The animations is quite good and on par with Next, as is the music.
MINOR GRIPE- the plot ties most of the strings in the story by the end, but we never really get to see Lina's sister, we only get a glimpse of the woman commanding the monsters, and never get to see if Zel finds a cure..but well we don't really need that info, so no prob.
All in all i was really satisfied with the whole Slayers series and this is a great way to end it.
The shows makes you laugh a lot, has some neat action sequences and as the show progresses from season 1 to 3, the story gets deeper and better.
But the crown in this show is taken by the super cool and likable characters, which you'll probably remener forever.
Great show, perfect for introducing someone into anime !

| My favourite of all 3 of the Slayers TV shows, there's just something extra special about this one, maybe it's the wonderful Filia Ul Copt, or the wonderful ending, either way this is the best of the bunch!

| And it still goes on. The adventures of Line and her friends that is. Truth to be told three full series of their starts to be the upper limit of my endurance. I mean nothing has really changed from the two previous series. The main characters are fun as hell together again. I just love Lina, Gourry, Zelgadis, Amelia and Xellos. New characters are introduced: I found them pretty interesting too. The fox was great displaying his unwavering loyalty to the bad guy who actually wasn't so bad. And good guys being bad. And nobody really being what they first appeared. So characters are in order, excellent.
But something is wrong. Slayers Try never achieve such great humor and intensive story as the second half of Slayrs Next. I feel it's much like the first series with half-way climax and going over the same story again in the second half. But this time there isn't the appeal of first time viewing as in the first series. I mean, it's great to save the world but do you have to do it again?
I can't say animation hasn't changed from the previous series or the music. They are the same "ok, doesn't impress or disturb" level. Slayers Next still remains the best of the series but honestly Try is much the same and I'll just give it the score the original series received because there a bunch of interesting new characters. Even if the story starts to get repetitive.

| Many Slayers fans pan the third series, but that's cause there's less of Lina and her cohorts, and more focus on new characters. If you don't like the other two series, this is the one you'll most likely enjoy. Instead of being subjected to even more tiring gags about the less-than-interesting lead characters, we are treated to an expanded cast that thankfully has much more color and a plot that is fairly juicy for a fantasy parody series.

| Despite being a Slayers fan, the last TV series installment was a disappointment to me. While not at all unwatchable, it did not capture the same thrill as the past two. Instead, new information arrives and very few connections are made leaving the viewer asking questions.
Regardless, it is still a fun anime to enjoy.

| Hmm.. the series is end but they still left out some part out like Zelgadiss's body curse, Lina's older sister, and who the lord "Master of Moster" that command Xellos. I guess I have to watch all the oav(not connect to any season) to found out.
Slayer Try used the same trick as they used in the first Slayer. You have 2 climax, middle of the season then cheesy climax at the end. I was gonna give story an 8 for all the annoying "Destrustion of the world" conflix. I can't believe they still talking about destroy the world cuz god/evil ain't worth living.. so lame.. so annoying. Next time I hear this theory I'm gonna smash something. But since this is the end I give it a break an gave it a 9 then i lower my enjoyment to 8 which is pretty good for 78 ep. series.
Same as in other series, they add 1 more main char: Filia. She is cute... yea atleast in her human form. her dragon form is kinda weird.. girly dragon with a pink ribbon on the tail. Look like dragonite in Pokemon.
Well, worth watching for the ending or atleast to watch the "END" sign freme.

| In the end it was a good story,great animation and just fun to watch. The filling part of the story could have been more decent even though the Village of Justice was so funny.So if you have seen The Slayers and Slayers Next, Run out and get this. It will be worth it

| Although the series was still funny, I found that the jokes on the first half of the series weren't that funny.
The story is still interesting and the new characters (Valgav and Filia) are actually really developed in this series.
The battles are bigger than ever but becomes too flashy.
Still very enjoyable and is a good way to end the slayers series.

| Slayers Try, the third season of Slayers series, is the most serious of the seasons (although like the rest it still does have its normal filler eps were you can just laugh your ass off).
The animation is a little better then from Next, the sound is basicly the same as always and the opening/closing songs are great. The story is intresting and you will love how things develop. The old characters are back again, if you remember them from the other reasons you will love them again here. In try they add a lot of new characters making it very detailed and impressive how it all links with the story, you will want to watch this season over and over again and I know you will enjoy it!

| Another great series for Slayers, and a great one at that. I enjoyed all the characters greatly and the story was very enjoyable and touching. The music was better in this series out of all of them. There were some poorly timed filler episodes that were confusing and there were too many of them, but thankfully it got back to the original story and I felt better. This had a great ending too. I finally watched all the Slayers series and ovas.

| Like the previous two series, Slayers Try once again manages to combine perfect characters, laugh-out-loud comedy, decent animation, a good soundtrack, exciting action and a touch of drama into an extremely enjoyable package. Despite a few poorly timed filler episodes, if you've seen the original Slayers and Slayers Next, you owe it to yourself to watch Slayers Try.

| Yet more of the Slayers genius. If it's possible, the story lines just keep getting better. This series is much darker than the other two. Also, the filler eps in this one are a bit stranger than usual. There aren't any more appearances from the previous extra characters, so they added new ones. However, Xellos is still his awesome self, but he shows more of his ruthless side in TRY. All together, this series definitely has the best story, but it wasn't presented as well as NEXT, so that's still my favorite.

| Lina's method is just great: cast fireballs first and ask later! The power of her (and the others) spells are just awesome and the humour of the characters makes you laugh all the time. Added those to a good story line with mysterious enemies and we've got a series that's really worth watching.

| Slayers Try has all the ingredients of every good Slayers series.... Characters you like (for the most part) lots of empty fields for Lina to cast Dragon Slaves in and amusing spoofs of fantasy cliches before taking itself almost too seriously by the end.
Slayers has always had a fairly split personality.... It is often hard to reconcile the basic stupidity of the situations and subjects from the genuinely dark undercurrents that run through each of the plots. It would have been interesting to see what Lina's destiny lead her to, but we'll never know, now, unless there is a revival....
Of the characters, Xelloss stands head and shoulders above most. He's that kind of person. Lina is always centre stage, and Gourry is as stupid as ever. Zelgadiss is missing his reputation for being dark and brooding and Amelia is as clumsy as you expect. Other long term characters are out of the window, so we're handed Filia on a platter as replacement. She can often be a poster child for justifiable homicide, but at least she isn't as bad as Martina was....
Plotwise, the series is, like all Slayers series, split into two halves. The first is the quest, and the second is to get back to the quest after everything has gone pear shaped. Nothing new here.
Same as usual for Slayers, and sadly the end. Slayers was always proof that you could make a half-decent show without the requirement of a monstrously huge budget. These days, that is all people would whinge about (including myself, it must be said). The ubiquity of anime available has changed the landscape of the way people view anime.

| Well, time for Slayers to become a little more serious... or to my viewpoint less funny. Wit is starting to somewhat dull, the stand alone "stupid" episodes seem more like fillers, gags are starting to grow tiresome after 50+ episodes. What redeems the show is the story: Well written and dramatic, filled with interesting and well defined characters (Loved the foxman...) and having an extraordinarily cool finale, in the end it pleases the viewer. Different from its prequels but not necessarily in a bad way.

| The third installment of the slayers TV saga, incidentally also the one that more or less ends the adventures with this particular slayers gang.
Slayers Try tries to involve Lina and her minio- i mean friends into some more serious business, what with it being prophecised of her saving the world... Not that im complaining or anything, but hasnt that concept been done to death already? guess it never gets old?.. oh well..
I for one thinks it was something of a mistake to make the saga take this direction, but they still manage to bring it all together. The slayers were never meant to be too serious i think, but all in all, its a good series worthy of the name. Definitely worth a look for any slayers fan who have already watched the two previous seasons.

| Wow...Slayers gets better and better. More unforgetable characters are added to the roster and they are all well fleshed out and voiced marvelously. This one sports some slick animation and the storytelling is even better than Try. Almost no filler episodes in this series (and they even make fun of themselves in the few that they have) and a rich plot with more twists and turns than both the other series combined make this one my favorite Slayers season.

| I could probably just cut and paste my Slayers reviews, as the series are so similar and I feel almost the same about all three (Slayers, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try).
It's hard to really differentiate them. The primary differences arise in the plot and a small bit in the characters.
But, they're also fresh and therefore very enjoyable on their own.
If you liked Slayers you'll almost certainly like Slayers Try and Next as well, because there's enough new in them to appeal, and the level of comedy is still just as high.
