| I watched this cause I liked the series but it's not really anything llike it.
Do not judge whether you wanna watch the tv series based on this movie cause it really isn't anything like it.
Overall I'd say this movie is average or below-average.
If you liked the series I wouldn't really recommend this unless you really wanna see more Lina and also meet Naga cause the other characters in series are not HERE.

| I watched all the Slayers series and read some of the mangas. But I just wanted to see how Lina would look with Naga. I have to say it doesnt look that good at all.
The movie was a precursor to the series. It describes Lina's adventures with Naga the Serpent. It is fortunate that another studio (SOFTX) produced the TV series, or else Slayers would loose a lot of fans, judging from how mediocre the movie is. When I read some manga volumes Lina and Naga were hilarious. Better to stick with the manga . In the OVA the chemistry fails. Maybe SOFTX would have done better.
I couldnt believe how bad the OVAs could have become. When in the DVD disc I saw trailers of the other OVAs they looked the same if not even worse.

| hmm... in light of the regular series, i find this one very unsatisfying. first off, this is just a bit of a side plot with the adventures of Lina and her sidekick, Nahga, who is scaintly clad...
the story consists of this: they meet a lot of random people and shoot magic spells at each other. there is no basis for all their actions but it is just some super strong magic battle .. very flash, and very strong.
if you love Lina Inverse from the series, and you want to enjoy some light humor and lots of magic spells, then watch this. don't watch it if you don't have any idea about lina inverse's story or else you'll feel empty.

| A very well done anime,it`s Hillarious,it´s dramatic, it´s deep and is a good intro to the series,Slayers and Fantasy fans need to give a try to this one.

| Slayers the motion picture is better then some of the other Slayers movies. It is also the first one. The story is just o.k. but most of the Slayers movies have random stories. To find out more read my review.

| Wow, I really didn't think Slayers could get even more brainless. This movie made the TV series look like Berserk.

| This movie is very weak compared to the series. Sure, it's got better animation but who cares about that when the main dish in Slayers' menu is missing - humor. There are one or two fair jokes and that's it. The story is boring, cliched, shallow, and uninvolving and the characters uninteresting. I had to force myself to watch through it, just in case there was something interesting in the end. There wasn't.
p.s. I'm amazed how many people have given this mediocre at best movie 9's and 10's.

| One thing wrong with the TV series, is that it has'nt got naga in it. I have to admit I do prefer the movies and the OVA's to the TV series. But the main problem with this movie, is that the story is a bit weak I could only give it a 7. The characters are funny. The two main characters, lina & naga are brilliant, always trying to cheat or out do each other.
And yes I have not seen the Next or Try TV series

| This movie is the First Time you see Naga the serpent. A character with big breasts and not wearing much clothes. She clearly is intended to make fun of the typical anime character with curves that defy reality. This movie is quite similar to the series except that none of the characters of the series are there except Lina.

| Yet another installment in the long-lived Slayers franchise, the movie didn't come up with anything new. Lina and Naga were the only realy characters of note in this outing.
But tossing the story aside, the anime was light-hearted fun. There were some really funny gags in the movie and it's perfect when you just want to watch something to relax.

| Der Movie ist lahm...wirklich lahm, ich kann mit Slayers nicht ohne die komplette Crew auskommen dazu fehlt mir mein Lieblingschar Zelgadis zu sehr und Lina alleine weiss da auch nich viel zu retten. Naga finde ich einfach nur nervig. Dieser Movie glänzt aber auch nicht mit einer innovativen Story oder dergleichen, wie gesagt...lahm.

| Slayers Movie was ok. It was amusing but not something I would watch again. I haven't seen the series and the movie didn't impress me enough to want to watch all of the different series. Good animation and decent characters. If you haven't seen it its worth a try.. if you can get past Nahga the Serpent's really annoying laugh.
