| This anime was pretty interesting. I've been reading the manga and decided to try out the anime. Nagasarete Airantou is your typical love harem story taken to a whole different level.
The animation wasn't as impressive as I thought it was going to be. I thought they were going to refine some of the artwork a little but in reality little was done. Even though the animation wasn't to my taste it made the anime interesting in its own way.
I really didn't have a problem with sound. I liked the music that was going on in each episodes. I did, however, have a problem with some voice actors which made some episodes really annoying(Ayane). Then again she was suppose to be annoying. The OP and ED were ok. They weren't catchy enough for me though. lol
The story is a little different from your typical harem story. Ikuto is the main character and he has a hard life back at home, so he decideds to run away by boat. Big thunderstorm comes by and takes him to an island full of girls, no man around, and for an added bonus he can't get out(Paradise for a normal male). Ikuto gets help by Suzu, which happens to be the main love interest, but she's clueless as to what love is, and Ikuto is just dense. You also have a couple of female characters which has an interest in Ikuto. They all have their own personalities which brings great fun in some of the episodes and some humor. There's almost no real story to this anime. The whole story is about his life in the island. Some of the actual stoyline is revield around the end of the anime. As far as romance is kind of disappointing.
Overall it's a good anime if you're a fan of the manga. If you haven't read the manga and know nothing about it, I would say give it a shot. I really doubt there's a second season to extend some of the story, but in reality I don't really think anything good would come out of it.

| Nagasarante Airantou is the adventure of the only male on an island exclusively and inexplicably populated with females. The series actually does a pretty good job of getting past its ham-handed, male-oriented hook.

| What would happen if you suddenly woke up to find yourself surrounded by cute, strong girls and no other guys around?
Nagasarete Airantou is a journey from the ordinary onto an island inhabited only by women. Here we find Ikuto, a lucky guy who has made his way onto the island of no return (it is surrounded by impossible whirlpools). This slice of life comedy follows Ikuto as he adapts to life on the rustic island and fights for his survival as every female on the island tries to gain his hand in marriage.
This is a very light series with many humorous moments and lots of sub-plots. Nearly all the episodes are standalone as the main plot doesn't build till the end of the series. Though the series isn't really ecchi, expect a lot of nosebleeds from Ikuto. He loses gallons of it throughout the series... Realism isn't the goal of the series so just sit back, relax, and laugh your head off.

| A guy who runs away from home to sea, only to be caught in a thunderstorm that leaves him stranded on an island... whose human inhabitants are all girls. With a premise like that, what can go wrong?
Based off a popular monthly manga series, Nagarasete Airantou is about an everyday guy named Ikuto who is surrounded by a plethora of girls whose men were all whisked away several years ago and left them feeling... sexually unsatisfied. And you can imagine what goes on from there.
But these 26 episodes don't leave a lot of room for imagination. Using 6 female heroines with unique personalities and animals of a self-contained ecological environment, random stories are told as Ikuto adapts to the everyday life of Airantou. A relationship develops with Suzu, the girl he stays with, while developing friendship with the other girls of the island. He also battles mystic animal lords, solves island mysteries, and meets newer girls as the story progresses! It's mostly fluff fun, and in the end that's all you'll get out of this anime.
The six main heroines are inventive and fun, but with this and additional girls later on, it doesn't leave much room for favourable spotlights, plus only a few of them are interesting and fan-favourites. Machi, for one, needed a LOT more episodes due to her affinity for being crazy and having an age problem. Yukino got two good episodes, but we needed less of her anyways - childish personalities are not a cult favourite anymore. Suzu, as the main girl, is featured in every episode, so there's no point rooting for the other girls (though with this kind of premise, there's more likely to be gags about it than an actual romance).
Ikuto himself is a conventional lead: he has nosebleeds at the sight of the private parts of a woman's anatomy; he has a quirky anger-switch; and he is the nice guy everybody likes. This makes him bland but still likable.
The animals have a hidden society, and more is revealed as the story digs deeper. I found them more interesting that the humans, too, with all the territory and reason for being. My favourite has to be the one who was introduced last (the anime had me fooled until the obvious clues, too!). Totally badass once you find out.
There are a few episodes which are less enjoyable than the rest (phallic references. yep.), but overall the stories are a nice sit-back-and-relax type, entertaining you for half-hour after half-hour.
So overall, Nagarasete Airantou is an enjoyable harem fluff. Just don't expect a blooming romance.

| Nagasarete Airanto was a pleasant surprise. When I first saw screenshots of it, I didn't think I would be watching the anime. But when the first episode came out subbed, I decided to check it out and in the end. I love this anime!
Animations are not that consistent. There are some episodes where the animations is bleh. Backgrounds are muddy, character designs are way off the usual, and character movements look awkward. Then there are some episodes with really bright colors in the background and the character designs look better than average. And then we have your average animation designs. Here's what I though.
Beginning = Average animation designs
Middle = Some Bad/Some better than average
End= Better than average animations
The company must have had a really weird budget to have so many episodes in different animation styles.
OP/EDs are done by Yui Horie who is known for lots of voice work. Perfect example is the main character in Fruits Basket. She's here again and she does the main female character's voice. Background music is decent, nothing really outstanding, but nothing totally awful and voice acting is excellent.
The story is about a boy named Ikuto who lands on an island called Airanto. The island is full of girls and he finds out that he is the only male living on the island. And the island is surrounded by whirlpools, so there is no way to get out. Then he meets a couple of girls on the island and they all fall for him, because they haven't seen a male before. Then a romance comedy starts. Some episodes are fun to watch, while some are boring and you'll want to skip them. But I recommend you watch all of it, because I thought this anime did a pretty good job at just giving us laughs and enjoyment.
Characters are a fun bunch. You have Ikuto who is the main male lead that never gives up, because he hates the phrase "Absolutely Impossible." Then you have Suzu who is the main female character and the one that he hangs out with the most and the one that knows him best as well. I found Suzu to be charming and fun. Then we have Ayana, Machi, Chikane, Rin, and a whole bunch of other characters you'll meet. I thought they were a fun bunch and they all have different personalities and interest.
Nagasarete was a good watch. I was watching this anime the same time I was watching Seto. And they were both romance comedies. So, I was always wondering which one was better. A lot of people thought that Seto was a better watch than Nagasarete, but I personally like Nagasarete more than Seto. But they are both really good and I recommend you check both of them out. Seto for it's random humor and Nagasarete for some fun enjoyment. Add them together and you have two wonderful Spring 2007 animes.
I like to thank Ayako for subbing this series and sticking with it through the end. And I loved their funny introductions to the episodes. (You'll understand if you watch one of their episodes)

| Nagasarete Airanto is your typical harem anime, and this time, it's about a guy that got stranded in an island that is only habitated only by girls! One can probably guess what it'll turn out already.
The animation, while not too consistent, has been improving as each episode goes, and one the cutesy version of the characters really make it look very refreshing.
The sound is pretty much dominated by the awesome performance by Horie Yui. She did all the opening and ending themes, as well as the leading female role of the series. It's her excellent performance that really bring this series to life.
It's only a typical story for a harem anime. But it's not really about bringing in new and exciting plot twist like most others. NagaAi knows exactly this is a harem anime and sticks to what it fits best. The outcome therefore, is pretty solid for each episode and a decent ending for it.
Like every other harem anime, there are too many girls, but the good thing is that each girl's character is pretty unique and you should know most of them by the half-way point. But again, the character that steals the show is Suzu, voiced by Horie Yui, really brings out the character and helped the wealking Ikuto, to be a better character than he really is.
Overall, this is one of my surprises anime in 2007. While I only expected it to be a mediocre anime, it has exceeded my expectations in almost everyway.
