I began El Cazador on a whim - I had no reservations or preconceptions about watching this. Sure, the OP seemed pretty low-tech, but that didn't matter. However, after 13 episodes, I no longer felt the urge to waste my time any longer. In the end, I gave up because I felt that the series was not progressing at a good rate, nor were the individual episodes entertaining enough to keep my interest.

So... what kept my attention for so long? Well, I really liked the two main characters. NADIE is a very admirable, kind-hearted bounty hunter that reminds one of a mix between the gun-touting optimism of Grenadier and the do-no-harm version of Vash from Trigun. ELLIS is your typical blank slate mystery girl, who gradually learns more about people on her 'escapes' along with Nadie. Furthermore, the series carries the feeling of NOIR and Kino no Tabi, where everyone seems to be after our heroines, and no matter where they go, there is always some sort of trouble.

And that is where the problem lies... while the formula works, and our two characters are lovable, the sticky situations they end up in are very lackluster. Running away from cross-dressing bounty hunters? Dress-selling part-timing bounty hunters? Hiding in nunneries, diners, pedophilic gun maniac ultra-machine van? Running into mafia bosses? Amigos Tacos? Umm... it was funny the first time, but it really got dry and old. Whereas Kino no Tabi had interesting cities traveled to, Nadie and Ellis don't really end up anywhere interesting. By the time episode 14 rolls around (which finally reveals a little more backstory), I've already lost interest in everything that is going on. Add in the extra factor of perverted orgasming boy-witch who stalks Ellis (the girl-witch), I was totally done with this series.

Granted, there are a few chuckles to be had here and there. It is a very light-hearted anime. However, El Cazador is neither interesting enough to marathon nor engaging/funny enough to be watching one or two episodes every so often. As a result, there is no real target audience for a series like this. However, similar to BLACK CAT (the anime), if you find a deep fondness for the characters, you may end up watching this until the very end, no matter how uninteresting the scenarios are.

This anime had a lot of potential. It started out intriguing enough, but many episodes had nothing to do with the overall plot. The final episode was weak, and at the end hardly anything was explained. The story, and characters, remained static. Overall, it was the many holes in the story and lack of explanation of anything that made me not like this anime. Unfortunately it was not until the end that I discovered this (I was hoping that in the last 2 episodes everything would come to close and all would be revealed, but it was poorly done).

While it is not a bad series in it's own right, this series fails to match its similarly formatted predecessors Noir and Madlax when it comes to creating a story with both plenty action and a having a good story to back it up. While watching this series, I couldn't help but wonder where the exciting gun fights and other actions scenes had gone.

nobody reviewed this anime yet!?!?...well I gest I' ll do it!! I just finished the first episode, at 1: 15 am, I was in my room, and if I' m still up writing a review at 1: 21 am,(my PC is another room so I had to travel lol) it is because El Cazador got my attention.^^

The opening starts and my first impression is : "Sooo... there we go with another NOIR like story" (that I personaly love). and once the ending reach, my second impression was : "Sooo... it is REALLY another NOIR like story!!!" Bee train love their concept...
It' s all right! cause it' s not bad at all, it' s great, I mean this is freaking perfect!!!! or maybe it' s because I' m sleepy right now and my sences are F**** UP... that I though it was good... Anyway I should move on with the review!!

The animation (REALLY IMPORTANT FOR ME) was fine (I gave it a 8 it' s good sign) but I hope the quality won' t goes down latter in the serie!!! Keep the good work Bee Train!!

for the sound....YUKI KAJIRA IS BACK!!! (listen to the Xenosaga II and III movie OST and you' ll fall in love with her!!!) She also worked for the NOIR and MADLAX OST (both were awesome!!!) so I' LL restrain myself for not giving 10 to the sound because we must include the voice and sound effect in the quote. overwall awesome OST in ep 1!!

Characters have a funny desing juste look at Nadie hair and you' ll agree with me!! but this isn' t bad because the they are cute and that is all that matters... for me ^^.
for the personnality...they seems kinda interesting but I haven' t finish the anime yet, so I' ll update this part of the review one day(If not removed lol)

for the rest, I have nothing to say now. the anime looks good and entertraining so I' ll be sure to watch till the end!!

overwall good for anyone who love animes. and perfect for those who love animes with intriging begining!!
