In my opinion, Clannad was a very good anime with a catchy plot, amazing cuteness and quality in character design, nicely crafted, and high on comedy. Trust me its hard to merge comedy and romance and do an amazing job at it. The last to do a decent job of the mix is School Rumble which in its own way was more of a comedy than a romance.

While some episodes seem to drift off the main plot, there is minimal "filler" which is always a plus.

In terms of value, this anime at least in my context is more meaningful than what people perceive it to be. It is quite an emotional series with its ups and downs which drag you in if you're a romance genre fan. The comedy puts this anime over the top because it brings appeal to the anime from general viewers which are not as much of a die-hard romance viewer.

Lastly, I would like to state many people I know whether they enjoyed Clannad or not have strong opinions of the characters. A good anime leaves impressions good or bad rather than none at all. This is a great hybrid-genre anime that I don't think most can go wrong with.

Quite original and new for a world of anime which consisted of pure romances and general/comedy genres that scrapped romance.

Definitely an A anime at least on my standards.

i watch this series because of the reviews i gathered but i am quite disappointed with this series. I am at episode 5 and i still don't get what the story is all about? I told myself to give it time but i don't think i am going to watch this boring series. I fet like dragging myself just to see what makes this anime good from other people's point of view. what's with the girl with the improvised robot/doll about? why is it interjected in the 1st episode, what is its connection with the story?? it just left me BEWILDERED. This anime is not ENJOYABLE to watch.

A harem anime, where the main lead is Tomoya: a person who is a lost cause as a student and a human being. He leeches off from his friend, Sunohara, in any way there is possible to leach off: he makes a very humiliating fun out of Sunohara in order to entertain himself, he always leaves Sunohara to be by himself and runs to hang around with whichever girl since it is more fun, but comes back to "occupy" Sunohara's room whenever nobody wants to se Tomoya’s face.

Animation: quite pretty animation. Light/shadow contrast is present, a huge variety of colors is incorporated, but why did the characters' eyes had to take 1/2 of the faces? Even Mickey Mouse would be jealous of such a humongous eyes...

Sound: sound effects and music at the times was well incorporated. I still remember that playful saxophone music that was played at some really funny scenes.

Story: well, story revolved about Tomoya meeting different girls and all of these girls falling for him because of some kind of weird reasons. Well, not much of reality in plot execution...Afterwards, when all of the girls felt for him, he chose one on the girls as his to-be woman. That's all there was in a story. Note, the anime is somewhat entertaining, since it has, at times, a very funny humor.

Character: a very simple character development. All characters had only good features with girls being all sensitive, feeling oriented, fragile creatures (even if at outside they looked to be mean or tough). One dimensional and plain characters.

Value and Enjoyment: well this anime is one of the better harem animes that I know of. If you are into harem, then this might be for you to watch. Although there were some scenes that were really goofy, personally, I would not want to re-watch it.

CLANNAD follows the footsteps of the many whimsical Key game adaptations, revolving around Okazaki Tomoya, a high school student with a distant homelife and a general uncommitted approach to his life and studies. To his friends, he's a rather friendly gent who often displays keen wit and a charming personality despite his troubled circumstances. The story revolves around his relationship with a handful of girls he comes to know, alongside his delinquent, though rather lively friend Sunohara.

Note, however, that CLANNAD is pretty much a paint-by-numbers story: it falls into the exact same cookie cutter structure that fellow Key series (Air, Kanon) have established themselves around, and one could say that while this is nothing like the stereotypically traditional harem series, it still follows in a stereotypical progression in and of its own genre. Sad, because one you've seen enough of these Key based series, you find that the whimisical notations, the feelings of loss, among other progressions, don't quite have as much punch as they otherwise would have.

What makes CLANNAD standout in its own measure, however, are the careful interactions of its characters, and ultimately, that was what won me over as I watched CLANNAD in a blend of comedic, whimsically dramatic and noted romantic series. Okazaki is a genuinely funny character, smart-tongued and probably in the same crafted progression as protagonists like Kyon from Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu. Yet, he has a troubled past that comes to light as the series progresses in its initial stages. His troubled world is somewhat uprooted in the people, namely Nagisa, Fuko, Tomoyo, Kotomi, Ryou and Kyou. Each girl has their own crafted guise, some which might come within shells of personality type notations, but what makes the series stand out is how well the interactional factors come across for each of them. The characters have a genuine flair about them that doesn't seem terribly far fetched, and watching them comes across more naturally than perhaps the over-aching symbolism of AIR, or the melancholic notations of Kanon. Granted, CLANNAD isn't a story for one looking for action or some sudden twists to happen at every turn. Rather, it's a series that takes its respective time, developing the characters and providing some fun, simply sweet moments to enjoy in the ride it takes you on.

I would say, with respect to the characters, I had the time to get to know each of them and by the end of the series, had some connections that lingered for some, while others dwindled in my mind. Nagisa had one of the more lasting impressions, as did Okazaki, since the series followed them through most of the series and the formation of the theater club. There were some genuinely sweet moments to be had between the two; she comes across as a bit like Tomoya: lacking confidence and not having a set direction to follow.

Fuko's arc took quite a bit of the story compared to some of the other girls in the series, and she gives off a rather childish vibe with a bit of a progressively tragic existence that's developed well, but a bit predictable. Some might say she's not necessarily the best character to come out of this series, but I found her fine in the overall measure, if a bit over-the-top. Kotomi had more of the quiet, shy character personality, Tomoyo was probably my favorite for her often interesting spars with both Okazaki and Sunohara. Ryou and Kyou were decent characters, often showing contrasting personalities despite their relations as twin sisters.

Sunohara was mainly noted as the series comic relief, and he made the series more enjoyable as I watched. Side characters like Akio also added to the lightheartedly humorous atmosphere of the series, and still managed to weave important pieces of information in the workings of the story to make it have a bit more weight, even if the execution and focus to each character wasn't completely even.

Animation standards for its time are stellar, with clear, crisp coloring and well-adapted character designs. It does follow in-step with Kyoto Animation standards (a la Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu and Lucky Star), and the cel production values are quite well done compared to peer series of its type.

I'll admit I'm not fond of CLANNAD's soundtrack as much as I was taken by both AIR and Kanon's OSTs, but the songs they provide, both instrumental and vocal, are conducive to its atmosphere: sweet, soothing, and lighthearted. I did like the "Dango Kaikazoku" ending, despite its childish feel, and the OP has a nice instrumental backing that I liked, even if the song itself wasn't one of my favorite opening themes.

The VA work, however, makes up the difference, with a stellar cast of seiyuu that truly work their way with the characters and provide a charming watch from beginning to end. I feel like the personalities came across much more in this series, even when the story seemed to drag its feet, and made the emotions more tangible than they would have otherwise been. Okiyaku Ryoutaro (Marmalade Boy, Romeo x Juliet, among many roles) makes an appearance as Akio, and Yuichi Nakamura provides a fine role as Okazaki. Daisuke Sakaguchi (Welcome to the NHK, Baccano!, Paprika) also has a fine role to play with the zealous Sunohara, and of the girls, I think I'd give credit to Mai Nakahara and Hoko Kuwashima as Nagisa and Tomoyo respectively.

It's a series for those who love the slice of life/romantic mentality with simple humored progressions (if noted in progressively over-the-top connotations), peppered with dramatic leanings that mechanistically work because of the character interactions and focus. I wouldn't say it's the best series of its genre, but it certainly has its merit-worthy moments. I enjoyed it, and certainly wouldn't mind adding it to my anime collection.

If you are searching for addictive, exciting anime, then Clannad is NOT what you are looking for! Basically, i think that Clannad is a great masterpiece of Key that enable audiences to enjoy watching it with relaxing and enjoying mood. The anime does not make people rushing to watch next episodes yet watchable because of its high value. (P.s. please read the summary from Animenfo.com so i'll assumed you knew the basic story).

In the very beginning, i was expecting Clannad to be similar with Air TV, which had combination of great visual, sounds and moving stories (that includes slightly boring arcs and complicated stories in Air TV). After finished watching this anime, i could say that Clannad do reached my expectations although some vivid weaknesses displayed.

Before i talk about weaknesses, let me just praised a bit about Clannad. Just like my expectation, the anime really have great visual and sound, the characters are very well made including their appearances and characteristics. the anime conveys a lot of hilarious things that make the atmosphere lively and happy. i always feel enjoy and sometime blissful in watching clannad. the opening theme is very nice as well. the ideas behind the arcs are meaningful and touching, and comparing to Air TV, the mysteries are easier to be accepted and understandable.

The weaknesses i mentioned above, just like other reviewers wrote, is the story. The anime was about the encounter of Okazaki Tomoya and Kogawa Nagisa in front of school proceed by how they get close to each other and ended as they finally coupled. For me, this was just like any other teenagers/high schoolers' romance stories. However, the arcs inside this anime were ... how should i put it?... 'inbalance'! Ibuki Fuko's arc are too long (9 episodes), although i feel very touched at the end. As for Tomoyo's arc, i felt too strange because this arc was put in the final episode (please correct me if i'm wrong) and worst of all it only contain 1 episode. despite of too short, i must admit, the idea of romance between a student council a.k.a. tomoyo and a delinquent a.k.a. tomoya really fresh and interesting. the ending of this arc really good too. i think i am satisfied with kotomi's arc because not too long and touching to watch.

finished about the arcs, the weakness did not end where i found that the love story of tomoya and nagisa did not satisfied me. the episode of them being truly couple was only in one episode (ep.23), which i found that clannad can improve more by adding some obstacles to their relationship. the anime ended as if another story will be born to continue it. (i haven't watch clannad after story and i guess this is the 2nd part^^).

(contained SPOILERS, pls refrain from reading this paragraph if do not wish for spoilers)

another disapproval of this anime from me personally is there are still unexplained issues in Clannad. For example, the story of the girl who lives alone in the end of world with her only doll as companion. How come Tomoya felt he knew the story and where did Nagisa learned this story too??? Another issue is about Tomoya and his father's relationship's progress. (I hope i'll get the answers in clannad after stories).

although i wrote a lot of dissatisfaction/weaknesses, i don't meant that i dislike this anime overall. instead, i found i like this anime and would love to rewatch it once in a blue moon (yeap! i do own this anime). for those who are considering to watch this anime, please don't hesitated to proceed watching clannad, because, this is worth to be watched. take my words^^.

Clannad details the story of Okazaki and the development of his new "family." The funniest of the three Key-Kyoto series, it is worth a watch despite its plot weaknesses.

I loved watching Clannad. It's just a simple story about two high schoolers who meet up and happen to fall in love. Why I love it is because it's brought quite comedic and at a very pleasant pace.

The animation shines. Character designs are somewhat uninspired, but the overall animation is crisp, clear and very, very easygoing. There are even a few "action" scenes, but even these are superbly animated and the whole of the animation gives the comedic scenario's just that extra punch they needed.

Another thing that makes the anime so watchable is the voice acting. The voice actors couldn't have been cast better and on top of that, they manage to deliver a stellar performance when required. The OP/END, I personally didn't like, the OP just starts out too dramatic and serious for the series.

Clannad has one huge weakness: The story.
Basically, the "main plot" is about Tomoya and Nagisa gradually falling in love (and Tomoya acquiring a respectable harem that any playboy would envy). The love story is never really put to the test, because is doesn't exist until the series actually ends. The story is, like said, about how the characters meet up and fall in love. This is brought to us in several small arcs. The "Fuuko" arc simply takes way too long and isn't all that great. Neither are any of the other arcs. What is quite awesome though, is the relaxed pacing of the story and the comedy. First off, the pacing: Clannad will relieve your stress! The pace is just so increadibly easygoing, nothing is rushed (there's nothing to rush), it's as if the writers have never even heard of the phenomenon "stress". Everything is dosaged just right: some small (plot related) events and certain doses of comdedy. No character stays on screen too long to become annoying, no joke is repeated without the right amount of variety and never is it possible to lose track of what's happening. The comedy itself is very, very dry stuff and every episode has some. It's the kind of comedy that can make you laugh or at least smile, and the story in turn will simply make you happy, even though the story itself is hardly anything special.

Where Clannad once again delivers is the character section. Although the designs are rather uninspired, the characters themselves are in the anime for a purpose, and they manage to fulfill that purpose to near perfection. Nagisa for expample, looks, sounds, acts like and is cute, albeit a bit childish. Still, she does have a certain level of responsibility to make her character credible. Sunohara looks, sounds acts like and is a limp d***, yet even he can act mature once he gaines some motivation. I can go on, but the point is that once again, everyting has exactly the right dosage. The characters are not put in to fill the screen, they actually have something to do. If not plot related than surely comedy related, their screen time simply doesn't go to waste.

Clannad has no intention of delivering some message, or becoming the best anime in the genre. It's simply a nice story about the formation of a group of friends and the falling in love of the main characters. Alongside all that, you'll get some great laughs. It's not a show with high rewatch value, but it is a show that stays in your memory for a good period of time, simply because of how easygoing it is.

Reccomemded if you like a good anime, must watch is you have high blood pressure or too much stress in general. Clannad will cure all that.

A solid anime following the Original Game released by Key. It features the traditional harem genre, as can be seen from all anime which were based on adult games.

Not exactly a pleasure to watch, but moreso one of those "must-watch" series; for the sake of its fame and previously good impressions left by the animation company.

Admittedly, Clannad was relatively boring for 70% of the time. I had dropped the anime when the Fuko arc started (which happened to be the first arc), and continued watching it when I had more spare time. Some animes force you to make time for them, while others are there when you're bored. Clannad is mostly the latter.

The first impressions of the anime really matter, and I certainly wasn't pleased when I realised that the first 10 episodes were going to be crap.

Clannad is about a 'delinquent boy' (which basically just means he isn't too interested in school), who is kind-hearted, but never expresses it. He meets a girl named Nagisa and decides to help her start her Theater Club on a whim. As they encounter various hardships, they gather the company of various other girls, which leads to a very festive and interesting environment. Because Clannad is based off a visual novel, the story progresses in arcs. We follow our "kyon-esque" Okazaki Tomoya through his delinquent days, and enjoy watching the various girls as they pull him into different, unique scenarios.

First, let's begin with what allowed me to watch through this series. Clannad has a beautiful combination of music and animation. You know how sometimes you watch an anime and you're just sitting there watching them pan the frame or flap their mouths? Well, with Clannad, the colors, the character design, the level of detail, the animation quality - they are all so fluid and well integrated that you don't notice any 'pauses' in this animation. Added a well complemented OST, we have a very nicely made environment.

Now, if this anime is so high quality, why did I not enjoy it? First, I did not like the story path that it chose to take. Some people say that this is because it would be impossible to make an anime out of the other story arcs, but I hate how they spent so much time on the two characters I particularly disliked. Second, they spent so much time on Fuko in the beginning. From episodes 1-12, I was at the verge of giving up this series forever. The only factor that kept me watching was I really wanted to see Kotomi and Kyou's story lines. These two arcs were win, and what allowed me to keep watching. However, the last 3-4 episodes were quite painful to watch, and I was very impatient to get through them. So, when you calculate that - that's like watching 23 episodes for the sake of 7. If you don't enjoy the first 12-13 episodes, don't force through it like me, in hopes of something better. You won't get it.

In summary, Clannad is a visual masterpiece. (I rarely give 10s to animation for ANY series.) The story has its ups and downs, but because of its focus on Nagisa and Fuko, I really didn't like the way it went. Humor picked up after episode 13. Sunohara never fails to act as comedic relief, etc. In short, this series is a bunch of mediocre episodes with a few interspersed amazing episodes that keep you hooked. I recommend that you watch a few episodes to see if you like the general pacing of this series. Otherwise, it's too frustrating and disappointing to watch this one.

Clannad is an amazing series. Animation had no quirks. Characters were lovable.
And the comedy was down right hilarious. Kotomi's ~bo~n~jour~ will forver keep me smiling.

The one major flaw was in the storyline. I want to make it clear though, that the storyline was great and well paced. But the anime is based off the visual novel, where there is a seperate storyline for each girl. It did a great job of combining as much of it together as possible but obviously no matter how hard you try, some things must be cut. Fuko and Kotomi's arcs were able to stand alone so they were great in the anime. But Kyou and Tomoyo's arc was a disappointment as they were cut short and I really liked those 2 characters along with Kotomi. Hopefully the 24th episode about Tomoyo will change that.

Despite this, it is a truly great anime. I rewatched serveral parts as they were really touching and amusing. Also, I did not know this was based on the visual novel when I watch it. It was only afterward when I tried to find out more info on Clannad online did I learn this fact and then proceeded to watch the visual novel on Youtube to find out everything that was missing in the anime. I hope this shows how truly great this anime was to me and that you will try it and that it will impact you in the same way.

As a final note, I leave you with this.
Tomoya-kun, konichiwa.

Well at first I thought it was just plain "good" "quality" anime but as it went on I realized it became a force-watch show. You know you force yourself to watch, it'sl ike come on only 15 episodse left till the end of this... obviously that's not enjoyment and a sign of DROP IT!

I mean on a technical point it's a very good show but it's just BORING to the point of not that enjoyable.

CLANNAD
In my perspective this is an amazing series. I am impressed once again by Key on how the developed this anime. What made CLANNAD good was it was delivered really well and ended really well. At first i was really wondering about the prologue, but that scene was for the last episode of CLANNAD which was nice. It was a message at the beginning and they delivered it to me at the end.
Animation was just amazing i loved it. They even did well with the robotic bear ( i think that's what it is) because it was in CG they just made it really blend in with the animation. Good music. It was filing to each scene. Also they had good voice actors just perfect. And thanks to that it what makes the character alive to me. Their voice represents them. Personality wise was good. This is what made the story.

Okazaki Tomoya is a delinquent or a drop out. But his life changes when he meets Furukawa Nagisa. She was held back a year because she has poor health. Her dream is to be in the drama club. However there is none. Okazaki decides to help Nagisa to make the drama club. The one with the most interesting background is Okazaki. It is his past that makes him a drop out. Moving along. We get these other four girls who have an interest in Okazaki. Well not at first. But his decisions what makes them interested.

This was definitely worth watching. I enjoyed every episode from the beginning to the end. The way how they ended the series with the last 2-3 episode was perfect. Just delivered everything there. Now i have to wait for season two or the aftermath.

At times incredibly derivative and boring, and at times tear jerking, Clannad epitomizes the best and worst aspects of the genre. Every time I was about to drop the series after episode after episode of paper cut out characters and repetitive humor, Clannad comes out with an incredibly touching and beautiful conclusion to each story arc. If you're seeking romance, there are far better series. On the other hand, there are many worse harem series out there too.

Clannad is the 3rd major work that I've seen from Key.

Basically, a delinquent guy named Tomoya Okazaki meets a shy, weak (physically) girl named Nagisa Furukawa and the story tells how they get to know each other.

A big difference in this show (from Air and Kanon) is that they took out a lot of the mysterious/magical elements so expect this to be a pretty solid school/slice-of-life anime with a little drama and a lot of comedy. There is a bit of magic/non-realism with Fuko-chan but it doesn't feel nearly as mystical as Air on Kanon.

Another big difference is how they arranged the plot line. Unlike in Air and Kanon where it seemed that the main character met different girls in arcs, it feels much more like one large piece of work here.

Overall, this was a solid piece of work. It is not nearly as dramatic as the last two works but it definitely maintains the awesome sarcastic humor from Kanon.

Clannad is a 22 episode romantic comedy and drama with an extra episode at the end, released by Kyoto Animation in 2007. It, like every other anime released by Kyoto Animation so far, stretches a number of genres and is outstanding.

Kyoto Animation has never been disappointing, especially for its graphics and animation. Clannad is no exception, as it features distinctive and colourfully designed characters, realistic and highly detailed backgrounds, and smooth flawless animation.
One thing that is new in Clannad compared to previous releases by Kyoto Animation is the use of high quality computer graphics and animation. There are several scenes where computer rendered shading and lighting is used in combination with distinctive drawings at very smooth framerates. These scenes are all of the same context, where this type of animation fits perfectly. Clannad is another product of excellence, and the animation is only where it begins.

Like Kanon (2006), all of the soundtrack in Clannad comes from the original Clannad Visual Novel released by Key, except for one or two songs. Also like Kanon (2006), the soundtrack could not have been put to better use. The soundtrack really stands out in Clannad, and adds an enormous atmosphere to every scene. Most of the voice actors in Clannad also voiced their respective characters in the original Visual Novel, and their performance have excelled in the anime. The songs played during the anime are also perfectly picked, adding greatly to the quality of the anime.

Clannad's storyline is funny, emotional, and engaging. However, its focus is rather narrow, and the actual storyline itself does not contain much substance. This is especially noticeable in the well executed, but abrupt ending. Nevertheless, Clannad conducts its stoyline in both style and perfection. Stretching 22 episodes, there were many moments where it could have ended in a disaster. But, not only does Clannad avoid the many pitfalls during its story, it actually manages to make them atmospheric, amusing and entertaining, a pure enjoyment for any viewer to follow. The hilarious and light hearted extra episode at the end also establishes a good foundation for the Clannad After Story OVA sequel.

The characters introduced in Clannad are unique and fascinating, especially given their excellent development. All characters are developed simultaneously with the storyline, both enhancing the quality of the story and maintaining the viewers' interest until the very end. The voice actors also do a magnificent task of personifying each character. It is just a shame that not every character was developed to the same detailed extent.

When compared to Kanon (2006), Clannad's storyline falls a bit short. Although still extremely engaging, it comes nowhere near the emotional rollercoaster that was Kanon (2006). Nevertheless, Clannad is still arguably one of the best anime ever released. I would strongly recommend Clannad to everyone, just as I would for most productions by KyoAni, and I cannot wait to watch the Clannad After Story OVA.

Well... well... this one will be really hard for me... it is difficult to find words to describe this animations in english... even with all the dictionarys and phrase books I have.

For starters this anime is one in its kind and one in its leage.

It was animated by the 'Key' and 'Kyoto Animation' studios with all they can give you. So the characters and plot from a game (or visual novel I'm not able to really categorise the CLANNAD electronic product :)), 'Key' studio elements are the lines of animation, development of the plot and decisiveness in the anime as well as the value of this title. 'Key' animated such animes as 'AIR', 'Kanon' and 'Kanon 2006' (witch are basically the same). Kyoto Animation are respolsible for such titles as: 'Full Metal Panic' series, 'Suzumiya Haruhi on Yuutsu' with average grade 9.0/10.0 (119 reviews) so it is all there is to say, and also 'Lucky Star'. I think they are responsible for the great humor in CLANNAD, as it it there specialty.

A little about the characters and story... It is concentratet around Okazaki Tomoya, as you can see his live is a complicated area. Do to his mother death his father is in deep trauma and shock, drinks and stayes in this state constantly. Okazaki and his father treat themselves as strangers living in the same house. As I mantioned his mother died, so he is not able to properly thing about others, girl as well. Becouse of his contusion he is not able to play his passion - Bascetball, it was the foult of his father. He is in his last school semester and all he is doing is looking for a way to non-attend his lectures. His also known as a schemer, felon. This state is permanent.
All starts to change after the school starts this year - Around Okazaki appears a group of people closer to him than he thinks.
First to come into being is Furukawa Nagisa. They bump in to each other at ther way to school in the cherryblosom aley. Nagisa is not a confident girl, she is schy, mousy even poor-spirited in the beggining. It is becous of her health problems and the position she is in. Because of her illnes she was forced to scip one year of the school. Her current self is all alone in the school - all her old friend graduated. Okazaki told her to find new friends and to find new goals to achive. He done it from mercy, but in the end it is the beggining of the story...
Next is Fujibayashi Kyou, a class rep, she is sister of Fujibayashi Ryo - Ryo is Okazakis 'distanced friend' and a classmate of him. Kyou is an impulsive girl, energetic, vigorous. She is protecting Ryo from harm, but through her she is trying to become close to Okazaki.
Things complicate fast in this anime in no time around this triangle appears Ichinose Kotomi. This girl is more than a genious, she is a very hidden emotion type, with a shy personal way of being. Because of her great ming all she is doing is to barefooted sit and read books in the library. It is funny that only person she happen to notice is Okazaki.
In the end there are two other girls preleast is Ibuki Fuko. Much younger then the rest about 12 or 13 years old girl. She is carving stars, no starfish wood carvings all the time - untile Okazaki takes her carving blade. He thinks it is dengerous to her hands. She is one of the first girls to be resolved - but it is a tuching story.
Last but not least is Sakagami Tomoyo. Second year student. She is a dreadful, horrific, tremendous and formidable fighter. She wants to become the leader of the school through election of the school representative- or samthing like that. It makes her a oposition to Okazaki, and so closes her to him as friend or more...
His next friend is Sunohara Yohei, a boy of great love to girls, but in similar school position of Okazaki himself. One of the characters createt to be the main 'gag taker' - and thats why 'we' (CLANNAD fans) love him.

To tell you why I give this kind of grades.
Animation of this series is good - the lines are tipical to 'AIR' and 'Kannon', the thing catching eye are the eyes itself - done like in 'Suzumija Haruhi...' perfect color and deep, with the light and shadow plaing inside. It’s not all - the details are done splendidly, the sun is exellent.
Sound is good, very good. It makes the ear vibronate, I love Nakahara Mai (voice of Nagisa) tone. As well as the music in the OPEN end END, Dango-song is so simple...:)
If I’m about to tell about the story it is perfect, supremely full well exellent. The way it develops, it is moving from one arc to another from one girl story to another it is done with passion and elegance with intuition. Emotions are well dose and all the critical parts happen with timing. The anime is full of humor, sketches and a lot of good language trics.
And of cours the main attitude of this series are the characters. In the basics like you can read befour we have a load of diffrent personalities hear. It makes the watching interesting and full of turnabout. With all of the interactions it is a perfection in the matter of social live. It id easy to fing yourself in Okazaki or one of the girls.
In the end value and enjoyment of this series is extream - it is a highly treasured anime in only 23 episodes - with the special after ending episode.

The last grade is for overall impresion, and it is 10/10. This series is a masterpiece and a perfection. I am daring to say it is a model among it's kind.

Remember to see all of the episodes and to watch them with laughter, tears, melting mood, purification and a load of tons of fun.

Have a nice day all of you...

P.S. As you may know ‘CLANNAD ~After Story~’ was announced in the ending of last ‘CLANNAD’ episode – i’m looking with high hopes for that secuel series...

"I hate this city. It's full of all the memories I want to forget about. Go to school every day, chat with friends, and then go back to the home I don't even want to go back to. Will something eventually change, doing this? Will that day come?"

As many of you might already know, Clannad is yet another anime based on the plot of visual novel. And if you have ever read such a novel, you should know that it's nearly impossible to translate its plot to anime media without falling flat on face somewhere. Visual novel is basically "10 plots in one" creation, where your choices define not only the outcome of the story, but the whole sequence of events. And in most cases you have to play through at least a few paths to understand the whole story completely. Is it even possible to put everything in the straight line without messing up? Well, either way, even though Clannad's is somewhat messed up, it's still quite an exciting watch. While the plot doesn't differ much from your usual average school romance, interesting characters make it worth watching.

If you are up for some school romance Clannad's is not such a bad show. Also if you're like me and have a soft heart for visual novels, you might want to check it out too. It worked as quite a good trailer for me to pick up Clannad's novel up.

When i first saw the artwork for Clannad, I was indeed mesmerized. It was one with such great detail and I was drawn to it. Nonetheless, I have never regretted watching this series, all the way till the very end.

After watching the first few episodes, one can definitely notice, the animation for this series is awesome. Smooth textures, thought provoking facial expressions, and an appropriate use of colors. The anime seems to tell a story by itself even if it's muted. Kyoto Animation has definitely reached a new level, after successful series such as Kanon, AIR, and the more recent Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. The graphics were stunning, and it's very hard not to be pleased by the great character designs. One of the best animations I've ever seen.

CLANNAD TV tells the story between the female lead Nagisa Furukawa, and the male lead Tomoya Okazaki in the School Life Arc. Storywise, I felt it was somewhat simplistic, in a sense that it felt too sweet to the tastebuds. At certain points, you'll have to wonder if things like this could really happen. Despite it's diversion from reality, the story still follows a smooth timeline, and you'll rarely look back and wonder what you missed. Every single piece of the story told, has it's place, and there are little, or none, repetitions. Furthermore, there are so many things that the viewer will feel. Happiness, pain, puzzled, worried. You'll want to dig more into the story after each episode. I felt that it could've been better, but at the same time, it was so emotion inducing that I have to admit it's one of the better storylines I've watched.

The seiyuus for CLANNAD, simply put, was awesome. Their voice and tone simply matched the situation, and one could feel the emotions that they want to convey, including the minor characters. Simply put, the seiyuus inspired the personality of the characters by their voices. The opening (Mag Mell by Eufonius) was appropriate in telling what the viewer should expect, a slow paced opening which describe the characters, following by a climax with a myriad of strong yet sensitive emotions. The ending (Dango Daikazoku), despite being a bit weird, does describe the word "CLANNAD", as clannad means "family" or "clan" in Irish. The background music at certain situations were fitting (Fuko appearing...thought that was really funny). Basically, it was awesome.

Well, I've really enjoyed this whole series, because it was a pleasure watching it, listening to it, and feeling the whole range of feelings. It's definitely worth rewatching, even if just for the splendid backgrounds and character designs. Personally, I don't really like watching harem/game animes, mainly because there are too many characters, and they are not explained in depth, however, with CLANNAD, I feel nothing but obliged to try another. If you aren't impressed by the story, you'll definitely be impressed by the animation. It definitely was a great season, and i'm so looking forward to the ~after story~ season!
