| Awesome anime with a different/classic style of animation that show us the story of a kind guy who has great skills with guns but is convinced of the importance of human lifes. I really enjoyed this anime due to its innocent, funny, noble (but deadly) main character, the comedy of the serie, the opening and ending OST, the classic drawing traces of the animation, the story (off course) and many other attributes.

| Trigun is a great post-apocalyptic anime. I love the themes it addresses and I believe they are very important to the real world. It also manages to be entertaining enough to keep watching. I felt it was very well structured and directed. There were no really boring parts and no wasted scenes either. Trigun makes good use of its 25 episodes, (ep. 13 being a recap episode) and little happened that didn't add to the story or the experience. I felt it was a great anime despite its shortcomings.

| I thought this anime was great! Vash is a truly unique character, along with Wolfwood (who the hell doesn't like a gun/cannon-toting priest?) The animation is a bit dated, yes, and the backgrounds aren't much to look at, but that's part of the story. My only complaint is that it was too short. It starts off kinda slow, but then really picks up...and then it's over. Overall, it's a great classic, a definite must-see for all the futurists and deep-thinkers out there. Vash's character by far stands head and shoulders above many others.

| Trigun is a genuinely funny action sci-fi story about Vash the Stampede and his adventures on a desolate desert planet where he has a 60 billion double dollar bounty on his head. Packed with great gunfights, aesthetic villains, and old-fashioned western stories, I had a great time waltzing through the series laughing, crying, and being entertained. It isn't anything too serious nor too crazy - it mixes the genres in just the right way and serves up some good watching.
I don't really have much to say except that Trigun is just a great watch and I recommend it. Almost a pantheon among anime from the late 90's.

| Trigun was overall an average series at best. The animation and art style is rather dated and looks a little low-rent. Bright primary colors and a lot of tan dominate the visuals.
The characters are decent, Vash is a unique guy. The story is honestly a tad boring. The various encounters they have just aren't very interesting. It picks up a little halfway but you just never feel much throughout this one. The action was also very tame.
Worth watching, but doesn't leave much an impression at all.

| It really hurts me to rip on Trigun. This is one of the first series' I'd seen, and I loved it dearly 7 or 8 years ago. After having seen its predecessor and successors, I would recommend them all over Trigun, (Kenshin, Grenadier, Trinity Blood) significantly flawed as they are.
Trigun is the story of Vash the Stampede, a pacifist with seemingly superhuman abilities as a marksman, a murky past in all respects except the fact that it was tormented. Vash romps around the desolate world to promote love and peace, and to stop the diabolical villain from destroying humanity. Vash is one of those "I wont' kill anyone, and I'll stop everyone from killing people" type characters. The difference between him, rysuna from grenadier, kenshin from kenshin, and abel from trinity blood is that Vash is seriously emo. I can't put it any other way. He throws his emotions around like a superball, and his crying over any character who dies eventually just becomes bland.
Most of the side characters are amusing and such, but sadly, there isn't a single really dynamic, complex or even focused-on relationship between any 2 characters in the series. All the characters have pretty simple and stagnant relationships.
The story is pretty formulaic now. It was formulaic then too, but i guess the formula wasn't so played out at the time. The first 1/3 of the series is mostly random, giving you nothing but a slight hint to the questions in the series. A gang of "serious" villains show up at the 1/3 mark, and throughout the rest of the show, apart from the last 2 or 3 episodes, our hero fights the "serious" villains (they're usually a band with a quirky name like demonic 10, or sinister 8, etc), and you learn all about his past. Final confrontation takes place in the last 2 episodes, and bam, there's your series.
Trigun is quite entertaining for the first third. There isn't much of a central plot thread then, but the humor is fresh. When the story does kick in, Trigun starts losing its comic flare, and it starts getting a lot more emo. The pacing of the anime is well done, and it makes it really tough to put Trigun down and finish that paper you were procrastinating. Even if I cringe every time Vash freaks out at some random death, I do want to see the results of his encounters.
The animation is also a serious downer. It is absolutely horrendous in so many places. Its only saving grace is a couple of humor animations that i thought were quite amusing. Action wise, it's horrible. The bullets don't seem to move right (they look slow), physical combat looks horrible (one villain wields a katana, and if you see him actually swing it in mortal combat it, it might make you cry at how dumb it looks) and its flash player "motion tween" way of handling other random animations like trees falling just shows a general low quality in animation.
My final, and greatest criticism of Trigun is its focus on philosophy. The philosophical debates in Trigun are not only out of touch, but childish and at the same time, strangely pretentious. Vash is a lecturephile, and it doesn't help that his lectures lack any depth or relevance.
In all my criticism, i strangely still can draw quite a bit of joy from Trigun. It is bland in many respects, which is its weakness. I've had a couple of eye rolls, face in hand experiences with Trigun, but it doesn't make me want to pull my hair out, so i guess at worst, it's just boring and bland, but at best, it can be mildly entertaining.

| Trigun is a rarity in the anime world where the main character isn't a gunslinging bada** or a hero with a troubled past. He sets an example for people everywhere by showing compassion for even the most cold blooded killers.
dont let my introduction fool you this anime is definitely legendary in cool points. Vash and Wolfwood define new fighting styles but still keep a classic western feeling. If you are looking for innovative new fight scenes and a story that will keep you intrigued this is a true classic aniem for you.

| Basically Rorouni Kenshin in a futuristic "wild west" atmosphere, Trigun is a comedy/action anime that is enjoyable, but not perfect.
The animation is dated; the anime was made in 1998 and it shows. The backgrounds are your run-of-the-mill 2D kind, and the character models are all fairly similar (Rem/Milly, Steve/Brad, etc). The action scenes are pretty good, but not great. Overall, extremely average animation.
The soundtrack is above average; I enjoyed the opening song, and the guitar solos and "western" type music during the show was good. The voice actors did a good job, though some of Vash's scenes when he was crying and wailing were a bit overdone.
The characters were good, though background information was scarce for Meryl. Vash was a bit stereotypical, in the Rurouni Kenshin mold; light-hearted face to show the world, with a hardened exterior underneath. The similarities also extend to the scars on their bodies, reluctance to kill, pacifism, and their status as "outlaws". I don't belive it is a coincidence that 2 years after Rurouni Kenshin premiered, Trigun appears with two such similar main characters.
Knives is interesting, though it hard to understand how he developed his warped logic when Vash became such a pacifist. Wolfwood the priest is probably the character with the most depth: the contrast between his background and his orphanage are intriguing.
The background behind the story is interesting: the origins of humanity on the planet; though it would have been nice to know a little bit about Vash, Knives, and the plants. However, once again I must state that the idea of Vash roaming the countryside before meeting up with some companions before facing off with his rival a bit too similar to Kenshin roaming the countryside, meeting up with some companions and facing his rival. Also, the "Gung-Ho Guns" are a bit too similar to the Juppon Gatana from Rurouni Kenshin.
The ending of this anime is a bit boring and open-ended; to me it did not really seem concluded.
Overall, I won't be watching this anime again, and I won't be buying it. Far too similar to Rurouni Kenshin; and not as good.
That said, the fight scenes were enjoyable for the most part, and the first 10-15 episodes had some funny parts; it was only the last 5-7 episodes that I got a bit bored with the story.

| With all honesty I can openly admit the only reason I bought Trigun in the first place was this gorgeous picture of Vash the Stampede in an anime mag. It was the poster one, with "The man with the 60 billion $$ price on his head" written on it ^__^ I'm pretty shallow when it comes to choosing certain anime - dishy guy? buy it LOL
Anyway, even though my initial reasons for buying this anime weren't for the comedy, action, intrigue etc that IS Trigun, I soon discovered it was a pretty decent anime, filled with fantastic characters, a great fun filled storyline with a deep and sombre undertone and above all highly entertaining.

| trigun is a very awesome action packed series with great gun scenes, which had a funny and cool cast of characters from vash to knives..
animation-the animation was done in 1998 so thats why it looks how it does but in my opinion it is still very nice and detailed especially vashes costume even though at some time the animation may be off it still has some very nice animatuion for a aseries made in 1998.
sound- the oppening for trigun was good but it was not the best.on the other had the seiyu cast was awesome i really liked knives voice alot it was so cool and wolfwood also had a good voice actor.
story- the story was good . i liked the idea of vash hunting down his brother (knive) and when his hair color turns from blond to gray was very ibteresting(spoiler as he usees his abilitys).
characters- nice cast they have all the type of characters covered from cool collective (wolfood), funny(vash),
ditzy(millie) and many others .
enjoyment- i liked this show alot it was cool had great gunning scenes and a strong cast . it was good but i like grenadier better and no grenadier is no trigun with boobs.

| Trigun is an anime that has been mentioned alot in recent years, and for good reason. This anime will truly open your eyes to pain, suffering, and question if violence can ever be the right answer. The first half of trigun is comedic, light-hearted, and fun.The second half of the series is where this anime truly shines, taking it into a darker direction, that explores tragedy pain.,all leading to a climactic final battle.

| Like many other have said, trigun is one of the best originals out there. The picture here doesn't do squat to tell about the show.
Animation is old, looking older than the year published. Some images looks up to the date, but most look it was made in the 80's. Backgrounds look very old as well.
Sounds aren't too special. The intro music sounds cool, which goes with the intro scenes showing the cool Vash. For ending music, the singer doesn't have a nice voice to make it sound good. It's just horrible. But one good point about sound is the music played during the show. Half the time, it has a western feel, laid-back, and has that cool feel. The other half has a metallic rock feel.
Trigun's story is one the best originals, or at least I think it is, out there. Vash is made to look like some humanoid typhoon, because of his past. In the first half, trouble finds him, and he manages to not kill anyone. He's a "mister nice guy". In the second half, the story really picks up, showing Vash's mysterious past. Everything is explained, from why he is so kind to what makes him so destructive. The reason I like the story so much is because Vash is working towards an ultimate goal, and with his abilities, managed to pull it off most of the time. Near the end, he has to make an important crucial choice. I don't know how to explain this well, so you will have to watch the series to understand.
Vash was a magnificient character. He has great amounts of power, but doesn't use it for his own good. Instead, most of the time he hides it, acting like someone you wouldn't expect to be all powerful. The two girls is a great supplement to this anime because one is ignorant but more realistic, and the other is silly but knows what is going on. And there's also Wolfwood, a companion who fights with Vash, and originally had different beliefs with Vash, but finally realizes Vash's way was the more better way. Characters are funny to watch at times, but are serious enough at times to show their true potentials.
For some reason, I believe Trigun is one the most revolutionary, or original, anime ever. I don't think there's any other anime like this out there, except for Gun X Sword. With a story of this kind and characters this enjoyable, this anime is one of the must-watch for anime watchers.

| A instant classic in anime.Anyone who has the slightest interest in anime has probably seen or at least heard of Trigun. The animation is a little dated but fits in with the overall mood of the story. The sound is nothing to be impressed about , neither opening or ending theme is memorable.(the ending theme will send you straight to the insane asylum)The story is one of the great things about trigun and the characters are one of the things that make the story as enjoyable as it is.Never in the history of anime has there been a more likable character then vash the stampede.Vash was not only funny but his personality was so believable that you could really relate to him.All of the other characters, hero and villains alike are all great in their own way. All of the comedy, fun story, great characters, and gung-ho action makes trigun must see classic

| Truly one of the classics around the anime world. Though, due to its age, its visual appeal leaves much to be desired, Trigun should hardly be judged at face-value. The experience is genuinely human -- while pretty much any consistent anime viewer knows there will be pacifists in any given series, Trigun balances this perfectly. With pure-hearted, idealistic, visionary heroes versus macabre, sinister, yet intelligent villains, many differing outlooks on life are explored. It is this fact that causes Trigun to exist on a tier of its own, and has earned its place in many circles as a work of pure genius.
Now, while I shall more than aptly flatter Trigun, the low-budget animation does probably stand out as its weakest point. Overall quality, smoothness, and detail are quaint at best, and though age does play a role in this, it does not excuse it. An abundance of droll, uneventful backgrounds (albeit on a desert planet, this is a slight given), with the aid of a good many countable stills, makes the animation the least enjoyable part of Trigun.
Now Trigun's soundtrack is a whole 'nother issue: one does not truly enjoy it until the series is completed. I remember while watching Trigun for the first time commenting to friends about how much I disliked all aspects of its sound, and being promptly rebuked with, "Just wait, it grows on you." Their words proved just, and sure enough, now I enjoy the music. Also, with outstanding character seiyuu, after experiencing the English dubs, I must comment on the how well all voiceacting compliments the series.
Unlike most series, where a story's rating is skewed with high points either in design or execution, Trigun boasts a high score in both categories. A solid, innovative plot evolves throughout the progression of the series, stacked with many layers that add to rewatch value; one will notice things on a second or third watch that he or she did not initially realize. Not only this, the casual pace at which Trigun flows fits it like a glove; clearly, learning a trick of two from The Three Bears, it's not too fast, not too slow, but just right. Perhaps the only significant flaw, in my humble opinion, lies in the execution of the last episode: Trigun compacts three episodes worth of content into one finale, and ends up failing at doing so efficiently. There is no real conclusion, and with far too many open and loose ends, it leaves an awkward sense of finishing Trigun without truly ever doing so.
Where most might immediately turn to Vash as the deepest character of the series, I actually turn to co-villain, Legato. A devious, cunning sycophant, one quickly characterizes him as nothing but a bloodthirsty sadist. However, while to an extent this might be true, Legato remains completely logical, concise, confident, nothing close to the stereotype of such evility. The perfect enemy in all respects, the choice Vash is forced to make regarding him toward the end of the series will, most probably, stick with me until my deathbed: those who have seen Trigun know what I am referring to. This fathom-deep intimacy with the human mind, found through each and every of the main characters, makes Trigun, in my book, a must watch for every anime fan. One finds every character of a class of nearly unheard merit. From Vash to, Meryl, Milly, Wolfwood, Legato, Knives: all are designed with the untold precision.
And thus, my brief herald of Trigun as a work of art comes to a close. Very enjoyable, touching one's heart as sad, poignant, and optimistic all at the same time; most highly recommended.

| Trigun.
As far as animation goes, there were a few moments where it almost fell apart, very few-other than that it was very much alright.
I liked those guitar solos, and the dark creepy music when weird stuff happened, very appropriate soundtrack overall.
The main characters are awesome, with fun personalities, original and very detailed: for example pay attention to facial expressons in ep.14-it is obvious what's on the short haired female's mind.
This is the best overall story told in anime i have ever seen.
In the first half it is mostly a silly anime, with lots of good laughs- then the story itself is starting to be revealed, the whole mystery starts to be unraveled and fans of good fastpaced action will not be disappointed.Yes -there is a darker side in the story.
The way Wolfwood laughs, really cracks me up sometimes- i just had to say it.
The only caveat i have is some episodes could be standalone: you could swap 2 and 4 and the story still would make sense.
If this was the first anime i bought, boy, would i be pleasantly surprised.
Remember:Trigun is the greatest story told in anime.

| Trigun, this anime holds a special place in my collection. It was one of the first animes I ever saw, and I actually still like it to this day.
Animation:
Not really high quality, and way too bright but it wasn't horrible so it didn't get in the way of the enjoyment of the series. It properly captured the desert planet feel it was going for.
Sound:
Sound effects and music were dead on for the most part. Has one of my favorite tracks from any anime series, Philosophy in a teacup.
Story:
Not overly strong but it worked to further develop the main characters which was all it really needed to do in an anime like this. I also really like the twist thrown in halfway through the series.
Character:
This is where Trigun really shines. Vash is a likeable and yet is a master gunman with a past haunting him. Very cliche but it works wonders. Then there's wolfwood, the irony of having a preacher gunman is just a perfect match.
Value & Enjoyment:
This is a series I have watched numerous times and have yet to grow tired of it. It is not the best anime out there but it certainly was great and shall stand through time.

| Trigun is a si-fi western, one of the best in it's class of anime. I especially enjoyed the weapond designs. Although the main character is morbidly unrealistic, it still is a great anime.

| Since now I read the manga (both 3 volumes of Trigun and 14 volumes of Trigun Maximum) I modify the review. First for those who claim that the anime isnt for those who like bloody, gory and violent fights or scenes, well this is exactly one major characteristic of the manga that has been toned down if not omitted at all in the anime.
this doesnt mean that the series is bad. Actually one side story of the manga is converted in episode 4 ''Love and Peace'' and is done quite well. Also the comedy elements are sufficiently and succesfully done.
But in order to understand Vash's message about love and peace better one has to see the violent scenes of the manga and how difficult it is for Vash to make that choice. Instead in the anime he just avoids the bullets like crazy and doesnt injure his opponent at all. That doesnt occur in the manga where he shoots and injures just aiming at non-vital spots.
The manga is where the real Vash lies and is much more impressive. Watch the anime only as an introduction because if you read the manga you'll encounter many differences. As an introduction the anime is good for the most part

| Trigun...what can I say. This seems like a show that people either love or hate. I think I may be one the few who are in between. Trigun is a nice series and has some decent attributes, but it just didn't click with me like other animes I have watched.
Trigun is the story of Vash the Stampeed...the most notorious outlaw (?) in a post-apocalyptic western-themed world. Vash has a reputation like Dolemite, but really has the cohones of Steve Urkel. While this makes for a funny character at times, I often got really pissed off at his unwavering pacifism. Other than Vash, there are few characters worth mentioning - Milly & Merle are ok and help provide a "straight man" to Vash's goofiness. Wolfwood is perhaps the most entertaining character in the series...at one point I wished they'd whack Vash and focus on him for the remainder of the series. But they don't...instead we are taken on a journey to uncover Vash's past which leads to a revelation about the world and a lame "showdown" with Vash's brother.
The animation was just ok, and the music was decent (actually liked the "rock" opening). Trigun is just barely worth the time to watch. Despite its flaws, I did mildly enjoy the show. Go see it, but don't expect to find the be-all, end-all greatest anime ever created.

| Trigun is a timeless classic, an anime worthy of being praised to no end. The experience of viewing this series has changed me as a person, thanks to a character named Vash. Even if the other characters were mediocre (which is NOT the case), this show will remain as an anime to behold just to meet Vash. I will try and talk as quickly as possible about most of the categories, just so that I can get to the point of talking about Vash, propably my favorite character of all times.
Animation: well, this is certainly not the highlight of the series. At the beginning, I thought this show would be rather retarded, mainly because of the ugly look of it. The animation is fair, with minor signs of sloppiness at some particular scenes. The backgrounds are rather plain, and seemed to be completely generic at first. As I continued with series however, I started to get a feel for them (the backgrounds), and appreciate some interesting designs that were used. Character design is the standout of the animation, as it is unique and very expressive of the nature of the characters. Overall, I thought the animation aspect was good, with some particular highs and lows in its structure.
Sound: The music is just BAD, whoever composed it must’ve been on crack, and whoever sang the ED theme should’ve been shot in his voice cords. All of the music here, OP and ED in particular, could easily grate on ANYONE’S nerves with its bizarre composition. Listening to it made me remember my old days when I was trying to learn the piano, always screwing up and misplacing my fingers to produce some of the freakiest sounds ever made by humans (I haven’t gotten any better since then :( Anyway, what balances this crappy music is some of the best voice acting I’ve heard in all of the entertainment world (I only watch subs by the way). Every character gets its exact match, making a very believable performance by the cast. However, what really deserve the utmost praise are the voices of Vash and Wolfwood, and that easily makes them the best two characters in the show. Vash, though acts like a happy go lucky type of person most of the time, gives me this incredible feeling of deep sorrow whenever I listen to him. Even though Vash’s personality wasn’t immediately obvious from the beginning, I still felt some pain coming out of his voice, and that made it easier for me to connect to him later on, when more of his characteristics are revealed. The other character that caught my attention was Wolfwood, mainly because his voice managed to perfectly portray his outgoing and (kind of) rebellious nature. Overall, I really feel like the composers should’ve been hanged and then thrown into the deep ocean, preferably by the voice actors themselves. That’s the only way to make me feel at ease :)
Story: Hmm, this is certainly more of a character driven show rather than story driven. The story feels a bit dislocated at some parts, especially at the middle portion where it suddenly changes colors to become rather darker than what could be expected from the beginning. For me, I felt that there was a bit of inconsistency, and I hated the implementation of the Gung-ho Gungs, as they only presented an unnecessary pure-action element to the show. It feels like Trigun tries to do too many things at the span of 26 eps, which is very hard to accomplish indeed. However, I wouldn’t say that those attempts were total failures, as the show manages to succeed at some levels. For instance, the shift from comedy to drama in a lot of scenes is actually admirable, and hilarious to some extent. This shift in focus helps to show some very different traits from the characters, and sometimes different views of the same trait. Though not perfect, the story manages to keep the viewer intrigued at many parts, and the second half of the series demonstrates that clearly. There are also many great issues discussed in here, including holding one’s own principles and the ability to hold your own beliefs in alien environments. I’ve experienced similar dilemmas in my life, but of course they didn’t involve something as serious as killing or death :). I can generally say that the story was like a bridge to connect the viewers to the main event, the…
Characters: Well, it seems that I’ve included a lot of talk about the characters in the previous categories, and that is enough proof on how the characters influence this series. There is simply no one like Vash, a person who possesses some very complex feelings. At first you might get the impression that he’s a fool with an iron heart and cold emotions, but by the end of the series, he appears to be this weak and kind hearted guy. The revelation of his characteristics was gradual yet very drastic, in other words, I didn’t feel the change that’s happened till I actually compared his state at the beginning to that one at the end. I was simply WOWED at how subtly Vash’s character was built, and how convincing it was, at least in my point of view. Also, I might not agree with Vash’s principles 100%, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t admire him. In fact, that’s the part I particularly loved about him, his hard as rocks beliefs and his unwavering will to hold onto them. I realize that for some of you, that appeared to be extremely stupid and unrealistic, but not for me, as I hold a special place for such kind of behavior. If someone is convinced that something is not right, on the opposition of almost everyone, then he/she shouldn’t be ashamed of him/herself at all, and defend his/her beliefs to the last minute of his/her life. In case of Vash, He believed that killing is wrong, no matter what the situation was like. I remember that at some point in the series, he did a mistake and went by force to the other route, the one that he despises. But that didn’t affect my opinion about him, as it actually connected me more to him, because real humans DO mistakes, and he felt just like a real one at that point. I know, many of you might hate Vash for his behavior, but I can’t help but be attached to his character, as it is the most human I’ve ever seen yet in any anime.
Ahhh, the other characters are amazing as well, with WolfWood being a standout. He also possessed many of the traits I liked about Vash, but with some twists that added different and unique dimensions to his personality. There are so many good characters here that it makes it kind of overwhelming, in a good way of course. However, I have some beef with the villains, as they took very little screen time that made it hard to fully understand their motives, but that’s minor compared to the grand scheme of the overall picture.
So, to sum up everything, this show is about Vash, if you like Vash, then you’ll like the series, and the opposite is true. Just a quick suggestion though, the show kicks in full gear only in the second half, so try and be patient as it might turn out to be a very rewarding experience. I know one thing for sure, and that is if there is one anime character that I will remember for the rest of my life, you know who is it going to be :)
