| As the last project of Tomino's line of Gundam anime, Turn "A" Gundam proves a skeptical but worthy addition to the franchise.
Unlike most other Gundams, Turn A takes place in a far away but retrospective future, and this time the two faction are the technologically superior Moonrace and the 20th Century regression of the Earthrace. Turn A focuses on humanity based on the beliefs and prejudice each character holds, which makes for a supreme story where there is no absolute right or wrong. Though overall Turn A is not very gripping or suspenseful, it does make up for its wonderful and fast-paced story about this reconciling of two long-lost groups of people.

| I was skeptical at first, of a Gundam with a mustache. But I decided to watch this, and it was one of the best choices I made.
The animation isn't great, the main Gundam isn't the prettiest thing, but they do a good job on some things, nonetheless.
Some of the music was composed by Yoko Kanno, who has done stuff for Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Macross, just for beginners. The song played at the end of the series(and the second ending, starting episode 41), is one of my favorites.
The story is magnificent. As said before, unlike any other Gundam series, you will not be disappointed.
The characters are amazing. Loran is a kind and gently person, but he is also strong and clear on his actions. I strongly believe that the main stars of the show are Queen Dianna and Kihel Heim, who really end up stealing the spotlight from Loran, and you will cheer for them at every point.
The ending is one of the best endings of any series I have seen, no doubt. It lasts more than 5 minutes, and really shows what happened after everything. You will NOT be disappointed!

| What a ride! Tomino's last work (before the Zeta Gundam movies), it is one of the best. It is up there with the original Gundam, Zeta, Victory, and Gundam X.

| Overall had a great experience watching Turn A Gundam. Just get over the Mustache, the Gundam is not even the main focus of the show anyway till much later.
Anyways, character developement is excellent. Great dialogue from everyone. At first I did not know what to make of Loran. But after a while, I really liked him. He does not get angry and is very humble. He's smart, even though he is a pawn to the Earth Militia Forces, but he's fully aware of his position within the war, to bring peace between the Earthrace and Moonrace.
The other characters too never fall short of my expectations. Sochie, Queen Dianna, hell even Corin were all amazing people to watch.
Battle scenes should not be your main draw to this show, because they are far from flashy.
And the ending, really solid. No complaints.

| BEST GUNDAM EVER! Dont be fooled by the ugly looks of Turn A gundam(yeah Ugly) but this has to be the best gundam i've ever seen. First off I find Turn A gundam pretty ugly mobile suit, I mean a beard? come on gundam's are supposed to look cool. At first i thought this was going to be the worst gundam but I was so friggin wrong(Glad that i am). The story and characters were just amazing. I love Loran he's so kind yet so mysteriouse in the beginning(Well not really) but still cool character. I enjoyed that Dianna and Kiel looked alike which made the story very interesting. But the most amazing thing about Turn A gundam was that it combined all the other gundam's into one. which i find it very fasanating and smart. I would of never thought of that. The Mystery of the Dark history and the White Doll attacted me very much. I would say this is the best gundam but it lacks of action, it's more drama then action so some Gundam fans might be dissopointed if there just looking for some nice gundam action. There are good action scenes but in my opinion not as good at other gundam fights. But Turn A consist mostly of drama and story wich is very beautiful and touching.

| Turn A Gundam. Probably has to be the most under-rated and probably the most hardest thing to review. Turn A Gundam is not anything like the other Gundam series.
I'm ruling out the animation. For it being done in 1999 I thought the animation would have been better. But when you been watching so many animes from the year 2005. For example. Gundam Seed (2002) to Gundam Seed Destiny (2004) The animation in Gundam Seed Destiny already blows away Gundam Seed just for the fact that it's newer. Anime has come a long way. Just a year or two makes a huge difference. So Turn A Gundam shouldn't be Judge on it's animation so much.
The sound is pretty good. They did have pretty good music. More simplistic. It's a bit childish but it fits the show.
The story. Oh man. The story is very complex for something like this. At first your just like eh, but as you watch more and more episodes you're like wait a minute. This is actually pretty good. You start to wonder what's happening, and the whole Moon vs. Earth. And how Loran is able to be inbetween the two things he admires. The story isn't really about the main character Loran. He is one of the main characters. But the true main characters are really the two girls that look a like. Queen Dianna and Kihel Hiem. Their thoughts are really something you have to pay attention to, and they push the story on really nicely.
The Characters are actually outstanding. They do change throughout the series. Some you'll like then you start hating them and start to level off where they're not so bad. Probably the two people I hate the most on the show, is Sochie and Poe. Sochie being Kihel's little sister and about Loran's age (14 to 15) She's a hot head and is just stupid. There's a lot of things you'll end up hating her. She has moments when she becomes somewhat likeable. But trust me just hate her mostly through the whole series. She seems to be the one who doesn't know anything and hates being wrong and ends up making a mess of everything. And the way she treats people around her. Terrible. Poe is one of the army people of the Moon. She does the stupidest things too. It's just ugh. But yeah those are the two characters to watch out for. There's one episode I really liked Poe. Where she was thinking about killing these people and all this stuff went through her mind and she just started crying. So she's better the Sochie you can say lol.
The Mecha designs are very unique. You want to hate them so bad because it doesn't seem very Gundam like at all. But this has to be the most original Gundam series since the first series ever aired! It's not easy trying to make up a mobile suit. I mean most Gundams look the same or take things off of other Gundams. So most of the mobile suits do give off a similar Gundam feel from the old first series. But then there's some mobile suits you're just wondering "Who the heck came up with that!?!"
The value depends on how much you can put up with this. This is not a bad anime, but with everyone watching everything new. A lot of people see flaws. And not only that a Gundam person who can't get pass the designs. A True Gundam fan would be apperciative to another Gundam series no matter how weird it looks. If this was such a bad series then it wouldn't have gone to 50 episodes. Gundam X only went to 39 because ratings drop. And for most Gundam series to go to 49 to 52 episodes have most likely been liked by a huge fan base who stuck with it.
Try to enjoy this anime. It's funny to laugh at because of the way it looks. And look at it as more of a Old school kiddy Gundam show. You have to keep you imagination open. I have to finish watching it but I'm passed episode 30 now. Only 20 episodes more. But I like the way things are going with it. So give it a chance and a pretty good chance. Don't judge to quickly now.

| I love this anime. This has to be the best anime I have seen for a while. I remember when i first started watching it, the weird design of how Turn A Gundam looked, but after awhile I got used to it and it became a pretty unique style. The unique storyline...
Anyway, what i really love about this anime is the characters and the storyline, this anime's ending has to be one of the best ending i have ever seen. Well at the last 5 minutes, i thought it was going to be pretty bad, until I realize that it was Queen Dianna with Loran. Then it became super good ending, everything worked out, well except for one person... Sochie, but she will find someone nice soon enough. She did decided to forget about Loran and move on at the end.
The ending shows everyone's(major characters) life after the war, it was really nice, I can't even begin to tell you how good the ending was. Plus the song that played with it, that song with the ending = perfect.
Loran with Queen Dianna ( Dianna get to do what she always wanted, to live and die a normal life on earth, with Loran by her side...lovely couple )
Harry with Kihel Heim ( lovers )
Guin with Marybell? ( lovers to be )
and so on and so on... ( other characters )
The other Gundam anime that rivals Turn A Gundam are GUNDAM SEED/GUNDAM SEED DESTINY. I don't know about Gundam Z and Gundam ZZ, haven't watch it yet, but plan to do so soon, when i finish watching it, will give a rating as well.
Crossed fingers for GSD, hope it doesn't have a bad ending, it could ruin everything if it does.
I reccommend this anime to everyone, if you don't like it then fine, but if you do then its great, and i believe that alot of people will enjoy this anime.

| Yuk. Tomino blew it again. A gundam with potential destroyed by weak characters, a boring plot, and terrible design choices. The show starts slow and gets slower. The 2nd half is a little better but it can't save the show.

| I think the character design of this anime is really good. They all have a n interesting personality, and allthough the moonrace queen is a very notable exception, they have all been beautifully drawn. Especially, Loran is a very cute and you get as much fanservice of him as you get of female characters in all other anime.
The story is classic gundam political. It seems a bit childish at times, but I think the political backdrop of this anime are really just an excuse for putting the characters in interesting situations, allthough they could have covered it a bit better.

| OK, a bit of stupidity, a bit of ilogicality, a bit of crap, a bit of mecha anime and a bit of crack cocaine and we have a Gundam anime, it sucks ass but for some strange reason you cant stop watching... This one is not really a exception. But as i said, yo realy cant stop watching. In truth, the story is ok, but could be better, there are a few plot holes so far (hope that they get filled later). The animation is good, but not great. The sound is ok, and would have goten a 8, but the intro and outros are terible!

| Turn A Gundam is amazing, Tomino proved that he's still one of the best director in the anime industry.
Everything in Turn A Gundam are original, from the story to mecha (take that! Kunio Okawara) to character designs. It is highly underrated even among gundam fans. Talking of the mecha desings, many say that the designs are ugly. I'm one of the few who think the desings are truly brilliant, especially the avant-garde look of the elegant Turn-X.
The strongest element of Turn A Gundam is its characters. The story features the only true female lead (yes, Loran, the Turn A pilot is only secondary) in any gundam shows. All the side characters are well developed as well. It's truly a wonderful human story with compelling characters, the gundam and mobile suits are only sideshows in Turn A Gundam.
To go along with the wonderful story, Turn A Gundam is the only gundam shows to have the distinction of having the music score composed by the one and only Yoko Kanno. Her music is truly a piece of art, which fits the theme of Turn A Gundam perfectly.

| Another Gundam classic! With the great Mr. Tomino return one more time to bring this epic that ties up both the UC and the AC universes together nicely as well as bringing a really good romance story that mixes with some great MS battles, this one is truly one of the Best Gundam series ever! Great animation (though some might hate the mech designs, I love it!), excellent soundtrack. A lot of people hates it saying the MS looks ugly, but once they have watched the series, they all said that this was one of the best Gundam story ever! It is original, deeply involving, talks a lot of humanity!
This series is never about the Gundam or the mech, but more on how we must work with each other, forget about our racial differences so that mankind can have a better future!
MUST WATCH FOR ALL GUNDAM FANS!!

| One of the best animés I have ever seen, great art, music, the best characters and story ever created for a Gundam.
Tomino's return to his beloved series was full of promises and finally, it's far more than we expected, he brings new life in a rusty over exploited franchise.
Sorry for mecha fans, no good looking bright mecha design here, just old school design and non-commercial design. In this show, everything is about war, politics, like in previous Tomino's series, but also about an impressive cast of characters.
Moreover, the ending is the best seen in a gundam, wonderful.
To quote mahq.net : "If after this the Gundam franchise degenerates into nothing more than a gimmick to sell model kits, at least this series stands as a testament to what Gundam can be at its best: a human story with compelling characters".
Watch it if you want to know what animé really is. For me the best Gundam with Z Gundam.

| I have to admit..I was skeptical when I first saw this anime. The setting was so different for a Gundam series...instead of colonies and a futuristic setting you get an old pre-1920s era where biplanes and zepplins were still the only thing that flew. The mech designs were strange, but I expected that considering that the designs were of Syd Meid, the person who did the designs for American movies like Blade Runner.
I found almost everything in this anime to be very well done, even the story, which is less violent and dark then V Gundam or Z Gundam.
Because of the mobile suit designs, the show might put off some people but I still recommend it. It is one of the few animes that incorporated both japanese anime with american designs.
P.S.-A lot of the mobile suits in this anime are similar to other MS in other Gundam animes. You can tell as soon as Milia digs up a Zaku from the mountains during the early part of this anime.

| This is a very underrated and unknown anime. I guess I can see why since it stresses on substance over style with some very “unique looking mobile suits and a slow start. However if you can get past that you're in for a treat. The Character development is well done, probably better then any other Gundam series out there. The story is interesting and puts a good twist on a series that has been getting very stale. I would have liked this to mark the end of new Gundam universes but I suppose you can’t make as much money doing it that way. This is a must see for any Gundam fan (And you really must be a Gundam fan in order to have the dedication just to find this show).

| Turn A Gundam is obviously the first gundam series to take a chance in a different direction. Numerous turn-offs occur because of the different stylization of Turn A then from its predecessors, however this is stuff drawn by Syd Mead, so why blame one of your own kind?
Moving along, Turn A gundam is nicely animated as a whole, however the animation does tend to sidetrack at times.
The music of Turn A is best described as? Its very rustic at times, even tribal like in some sequences, but overall features some great works by Yoko Kanno. At many times, the music matches seamlessly with the animnation with is a definite plus.
Next with story and characters, we got your typical factionists, traitors, and strangely dressed scoundrels as in previous series. Just as in Gundam series, you cant really point out someone as pure evil, but just motivated differently. This is what I find favorable with Turn A characters, as we find a variety of people running around following different ideals. Loran of course, has to take the brunt of this since being one of the major characters that the whole story revolves around. If you like great story, grand music, and good animation, give Turn A peek.
