| Still few episodes subbed, so my review is going to be updated.
I will only say that Gunslinger Girl S1 is one of my favorite animes and that I expected at least a good one with S2.
What a disappointment...
Even if I knew it would be hard to meet my expectactions, I didn't expect a CRAPPY anime !
My review may sound severe, yet the 3 in animation is totally right from what I've seen.
It was the worst first episode I watched this year, the animation is just crappy : when I saw on the screen fixed backgrounds with a moving camera*, I could not even believe such an amateurish thing in an anime of 2007 (even in fact in any anime at all, was it made in the nineties or the eighties), least to say the second season of one excellent show (tough it's not the same studio).
As far as episode 1 is concerned, the anime seems to put unnecessary emphasis on (mediocre) action scenes.
Music and chara-design follow the same low standards.
Characters were poorly drawn (big eyes, fuzzy hairs...manga-like, yes, but truly inferior to the first season).
Musics follows the lousy action scenes (with a terrible technique of close-up of the last century). Something from the 80, I don't know. Anyway, it's cheap techno.
I may try to watch more, but I already know from such poor impressions that the show can't be good.
* : see the riot scene to understand what I meant here
