| This is one of the worst series I have ever seen. The six episodes that comprehend this series are like six movies. The first movie gets you going and seems promising and then from movie 2 thru movie 6 everything goes to an abyss. The music isn’t there. You can feel that who ever produce this anime did it with not too much excitement. Characters are annoying and the sex scenes are forced and not necessary. Fighting sequences are tasteless or without complex imagination.
Only advice: Stay away from this one.

| The first and second episode is awesome... but as the story progresses, the focus is too much on sex/nudity and less on story line and character development. Kind'a sad because the animation had the potential to be great. However, it certainly has a very high artistic value compared to many of the other anime series out there... Overall I wish there were more episodes!!! ;)

| "Brainwashed by the 108 Dragons, a powerful Chinese crime syndicate, Yo Hinomura is transformed into a killing machine known as 'Crying Freeman' for the silent tears he sheds for his victims."
Sounds good, don't it? ....Well, it aint. Crying Freeman is not only an abomination of the original manga, but very easily one of the worst anime I've seen.

| blood, sex, blood, sex, blood, sex ....etc. oppps, sorry, i've just spoiled the whole series, well, never mind, it's not worth it at all as i think. the only thing good here is the drawing, it is sexy, but that's not what i watch anime for. i want a plot, i want charachter development, i want an ANIME. this one isn't, this one is, well, i just told you the whole thing, right?
Edit: While I was trying to decide which anime is THE worst anime I've ever seen, this one popped into my mind without much thought... This is by FAR the most pointless show, not just anime, but everything.

| Above-average film that reminds one of Golgo 13. It has some aspects that make it stand out a little from the crowd, but it's nowhere near a must-see.

| Solid, classic story weighted down by thick, clunky pre-CG animation (production date is 1988). Nevertheless, Crying Freeman establishes and develops some familiar anime themes, though the anime is less ground-breaking than the manga was.
Freeman is a classic martial arts/organized crime story, with a hero who is 'forced' to commit criminal acts, but struggles to maintain moral integrity. As such it is quite violent, and there is sexual content in many of the episodes.
If you are the type of viewer who can watch an older anime, recognize familiar characters and situations, and get enjoyment in seeing how these compare to thier most recent anime incarnations, you will enjoy Freeman.
But some viewers don't understand, or don't care. Anything familiar in older anime is called 'unoriginal', because they've already saw it an anime produced in 2001. If this describes you, I suggest you avoid Crying Freeman. I also predict you won't be watching anime for very long, because the same themes are repeated over and over again. If you are unable to learn to appreciate how these themes grow and develop, anime is not for you.
