| The tale of a young schoolboy and his yamato nadeshiko (ideal Japanese woman) girlfriend with a weakness for manga that for some reason is forbidden to her (in Japan of all worlds), this is Nogizaka. The series is formulaic but its a tried and true formula for a reason.

| This is another romance comedy that tries to ride on the popularity of the otaku genre. With the main character being an otaku but having an image to maintain, can she live her dream in anime?
The animation is quite good for an HD animation, while not as detailed as other high budget anime, it does its job decently.
The sound is ok, with a decent cast and Noto Mamiko carrying as the main character, she does a decent job potraying as the girl that's an otaku underneath.
The story is the typical format of a love comedy where the hero has to endure various day to day challenge to prove his worth to the girl he loved. While the otaku theme is constantly used, it is not focused as heavily as other anime like Lucky Star or Genshiken. You can definitely feel that the otaku theme is merely used as a ruse for this comedy.
All the characters presented in this anime are very stock. The hero is the typical weakling but would stand up for himself in order to protect the girl he loves. And the girl is the same where she's the quiet and sweet girl but would do what it takes in order to do something she holds dearly.
Overall Nogizaka Haruka no Himtsu is a decent anime to watch if you have some time to kill, but otherwise, it's just another dot in the vast collections of anime.

| Normally I would go into more detail about the various aspects of the show, but I seriously can't be bothered with this one, since there isn't much to talk about in the first place.
The story is simple. If this were to be a narrative, then there wouldn't be any complications, because it is essentially really straightforward. You get no sense of achievement after watching the ending because the series fails to develop the two lovers' relationship any more than when they first met.
The sound was mediocre. Not bad, but doesn't stand out. I did like the first few seconds of the OP sequence as it was pretty original.
The characters were pathetic. End of sentence. No development. If you count Haruka "suddenly" falling in love with the main character some sort of development, then you have been living under a rock. each episode appears to be merely a different story, much like Minami-ke or the Simpsons, where the next episode has nothing to do with the previous.
Despite the flaws, I actually didn't notice the flaws at first, due to the nature of the show (slice of life and comedy- which is the combination I enjoy most) and how the girl is portrayed as some sort of innocent person who doesn't know much about life or something (which relates back to the genre or comedy and slice of life).

| Nogizaka is a REALLY short slice-of-life drama about an ordinary guy and a girl he meets. It turns out that the girl is the daughter of an important (never disclosed why) guy and is ungodly rich. However, he finds out about her little secret love of anime and agrees to to keep it a secret.
The concept idea was really good and execution was fairly well done. It really isn't a deep or serious series and the length was definitely on the short side.
Overall, the series falls short on a few expectations (could have used more substance / length to explore the concept more fully) but was still decently presented.

| A simple story, doesn't give too much lasting value. Follows the usual trend of popular mainstream love romance in school life situation.
(spolier alert!!!)
1)A guy likes girl - start of any school life romance.
2)The girl he is reaching for is out of his league - In this case she is high class, rich
3)The girl has a secret of some sort - In this case it is revealed early on that she is somewhat an otaku.
4)Finale - Always at the end of the series girl eventually falls for guy.
Any one can guess these step because its too obvious, and theres no twist in the plot. Simple and straight forward.
The underlying idea, which was her secret of being an otaku, was played very weakly through the series. Even though it was introduced very early on as a base for the two characters being together, it barely provides any further drama or situations about this "dreaded" secret of hers.
Granted that is a short series of 12 episodes, the number of "incidents' of her almost revealing her otaku side is minor and almost insignificant.
