There were 4 reviews in here when I looked through them deciding whether or not check out this series. I'm glad I did. I stayed up late watching this to finish it. I was really into it. It won't change your life, but I think it's very enjoyable.

I heard about it from 2 of my friends, before that I never knew about it. I bought it watched the first DVD and I just loved it, the Super Powers, and story is great.

The VIDEO isn't what we call great but back then they drew it, so I gave it a 10. I would recommend this Anime to anyone.
I would of never believed it, but Legend of the Dragon Kings and Guyver are now my number 1 favorite Anime.

I have all the volumes on vhs and dvd, and bought my sister the complete set of dvds (it is her favorite anime). It has a very traditional japanese setting and I absolutely love how they made the 2 eldest boys have the asian epicanthic fold (the narrow eyes). The plot is familiar, but what makes the series special is the warmth and care shown by the brothers towards each other. I loved it, but when 2 friends of mine came over to watch it, they were bored by it and felt it was predictable, but they had to see the end. The end is not the end. The author - tanaka Yoshio, is still publishing a novel each year, updating this series, and Clamp did a very good selling version manga of this story. The author also wrote Legend of Arslan and also Galactic heroes. I think anime of this variety will not appeal to most people, but there is definately a place for them. For me, it is still my favorite anime, right up there with Spirited Away by Miyazaki.

The first part is a fun romp through the usual 'boys with superpowers versus the powerful business syndicate and it's wizened, evil old leader plus large breasted woman' fair - and none the worse for it.
It wilts towards the end though, and the fun drains away into a rather booring trashiness.

it's hard to give this a fair review, being that it was one of the first animes i saw way back in 1996. which was before i got my teeth into the world of fansubs. i remember the first time i watched it i loved it,the four ryudo bro's are heavy, and although it was a dub each bro had their distinct way of behaving. each bro has to the potential to turn into a huge powerful dragon, and because of this the world and his mum are after the bro's 2 take control of their power. however not a single one has a chance in hell of hurting these guys. the animation is pretty old and had alot of still images which was annoying. however it didnt take to much away from a very enjoyable story. my only real gripe is with the ending..... it's soo lazy, and im sure the manga has a diff ending because i couldn't see clamp gettin where they are 2day with an ending in this anime. it seemed as if the producton house ran outta money and had 2 cut the story short, which was really gay as the story still had alot of mileage and could have easily been another 4 ova's long. no problem. over all i really did enjoy the anime, it wont be to the taste of those who dont like fighting anime or are expecting a earth shatteringly deep story, nor if your a visual junkie. it's too old 2 appeal on that level. search it out if u se it cheep some place it is pretty fun. it aint gonna change your view on anime but it's not bad entertainment. and at the end of the day, dats what anime is in a nutshell :)
