Ah well, there's not much one can say about Compiler. The story is actually as simple as it seems: world domination/destruction by 2D creatures. But the 'researchers' (that is Compiler and Assembler) seem to like two human guys and then they decide: 'let's NOT destroy the world and instead win the battle against our terrible master! We absolutely MUST make the little bugger GO AWAY!'. Well, it's a shallow story, with little value, but there are funny moments, I'll admit. It also has action. The romance and drama parts are poorly done, though.

The animation is not the best, but it's passable.

Seriously, Compiler doesn't have much interest. There are a great number of good animes out there... go find them, leave this alone.

The previous reviewer seems to have been trying too hard to understand this show. There really is no point except complete and utter craziness. How many other shows can you think of that use Colonel Sanders in a mecha-esque fight scene? The plot is rather flimsy, and the characters are quite likable, but the core of this show is just the wackiness of it all. It really can't be explained, but I do believe that certain types of people may enjoy this immensely.
