While Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma, were going camping, a farmer erupted, causing the forest to burn down. They summoned the dragon, and wished for it to come back. A couple days later, the cause of the fire were extra terrestials led by a Saiyan named Turles, who planted a tree called the Tree of Might that sucks energy out of the planet in the form of fruits. Earth Special Forces battle against Turles and his gang, but they were overpowered. Goku however, didn't let up, and was on his way on defeating Turles, until he grabbed a fruit and ate it. Goku used his most powerful attack, the Spirit Bomb. However, the tree absorbed most of the earth's energy, and the bomb couldn't be formed. Then, Goku absorbed some of the tree's powers, which was enough to destroy Turles and the tree. Earth is saved once again.

What I like the most about this movie is the choreography of the fights. They were so unique and well planned out. In a lot of people's eyes, they're the same as the fights in the original anime, but they're much better directed than the normal ones in the series. It just sucks that some of the other side characters, like Yamcha and Tien, had short fights. If they were longer, that would be pretty sweet. Gohan's transformation into an ape again felt pretty pointless and unncessary, other than a mere excuse to kick him out of the battlefield. Nothing really good came out of it, and the time he wasted could have been used on more awesome Piccolo, Yamcha, or Tien, fight scenes. I don't really care about Chioutzu, since he doesn't do very much in terms of fighting. The ending surprised me a bit. It didn't feel like those out no where moments, even though it was close to being one, but it was unexpected. You'd expect Goku to finish of Turles with a dramatic spirit bomb, but instead, a plot device in the Tree of Might, was used to defeat him.

However, the story, unsurprisingly, is lackluster. The prestory of it held an interesting concept in that the fighters encountered here are as strong as they are because they sucked energy out of planets and ate its fruits. Though after the first ten or twenty minutes, the little story moments it has are pretty dull, and you'll be relying on the fights to keep you entertained. No thanks to Gohan's damn transformation, the movie was actually pretty hard to follow after. I actually forced myself to watch the rest of it, walking from my computer chair to my bed right behind it because it lost interest. The ending did end differently, but it would have needed to end spectacularly to save this movie. While the fights were excellent, it just lost interest mid way through.

If you already knew the original series, then you should know that it has the same qualities from Vegeta’s story when he first appeared and after they defeated Raditz. It not as interesting than the other movies that were made later on. I guess that this can be alright if you like more action in it, but I thought that it was too average for it. The tree comes and gives power to Turles, the enemy of this movie, and fights Goku and the gang. It was just another additional viewing to the series.

lol. Another DBZ movie, another improvement on the ones I've watched before. That makes 4 in a row!!! This surprised me. It turned out to be quite a good action anime. Not nearly as good as Street Fighter 2, but still it's pretty good. The story was actually slightly more than one dimensional, and the action was absorbing. There were a few things that was quite annoying. I mean the way they solved the forest problem was ridiculously easy. I mean, if you could summon up the Eternal Dragon that easily, then they could easily use it to solve like, any problem. And also the way it ended. I can't really voice my complaint else it'll count as a spoiler, but I thought the way it ended was pretty ridiculous.

This movie is more of the same. Incredibly strong opponents. Heroes of almost equivelant abilities. Powering up of both sides. It has a plot whose entire depth could be summarized in little more than a paragraph.

These are both the disadvantages and advantages of the movie. If you like the way DBZ does action, go for it, its some great stuff. If you find their methods a bit too cliche and overused, you're better off staying away.

DBZ Movie.

It seems they did a little research about a old myth in this movie. I'm also surprised another reviewer knew that this movie was made from that myth. Having said that the concept of it made me thought their was going to be a plot...and by now you should know when you watch anything that has DragonBall in the title, your only going to get a fighting anime. Their's not much to say about any of the movies, except that they are all basically the same, just a different plot.

Here we go again! As always the Dragon Ball movies repeats it self, but this movie has something that the other two films miss. It is actually based on a old grek myth. The tree of might is in grek mythologi the tree of the gods. A powerfull tree created for the gods to give them food and powers to shape the world. In Dragon Ball this concept is used by the villians to gain power. It is rather fun to see the creators of Dragon Ball use this old story to boost their on story. They actually manage to pull it of rather nicely but I feel that they could have done it better.

Overall it is still your typical Dragonball movie were the evil villian leader trys to take over the universe with his fellow companions. And the good guys is always trying to do their best to stop theme. But still this movie has its charm just like the other two. And do I have to remind you that this is a anime for kids. So dont excpect something out of the ordinary.
