| Take 1(one) good idea for the DBZ universe: bring the real Legendary Super Saiyan-Jin to life; add the whole cast of DBZ, regardless of the paradoxes with the series; add one exagerately powerfull adversary for the DBZ warriors. The result is utter shit.
The animation and sound need no more explainig. DBZ has never had top of the line animation and, although some voices are awesome, the sound is behind times as well. No more words here.
The story is basic...basic as any other DBZ movie. This had promise...last surviving Sayians coming back for their prince and plotting something in between. Yeap...it had a bit of promise. It ended up with a lot of shitty fighting as usual, for more than 3/4 of the whole film, with the characters' story remaining with absolutely no depth to it or explanations...or reason for that matter. It ends just as sudden as usual, and just as stupid.
As in other reviews on a DBZ movie, I only touch the bad guys:
Brolly is by far the worst bad-guy the DB universe has come to face. He is the legendery super sayian...and a psycopath on the side. The character is strong and in this film he is just as smart as a toothpick. He has no depth, no personality, no nothing..."Kill! Kakaroth!"...yeah, yeah, we get it already...change the god-damn disk. Brolly could've been better but he wasn't, not in this film, and not in the others.
As a side note: Vegeta's change of heart is pitiful and too sudden.
Value? Never again will I watch this. Saw it 2 times just to convince myself that there really isn't anything new in this film.
I enjoyed the soccer match that Brolly plays with his adversaries...nothing more.

| The first DBZ movie that I actually didn't find a boring chore to watch! Brolly was a cool idea...bringing in the legendary SSJ sparked my interest during this movie, Vegeta's little inner struggle was cool...and dare I say it...the movie me had me excited at times! I kinda enjoyed this!

| I have to say, at one point, I thought this anime was going to be half decent. Primarily, it has a story, that, though painfully transparent, was really compex BY DBZ STANDARD.
But having gotten everything set up, this anime was actually let down by the fighting. It was just... so unexciting. The way Goku is half serious and the way they keep throwing in crappy jokes meant that in the end they failed to create a decent batte atmosphere. Vergita's change of heart of so badly done. And if they could transferr ki like that, why the hell did piccolo have to do it the harder way in the last DBZ movie I watched (movie #4)?? Piccolo's appearance is becoming so boring and predictable too. They really need to think up some new "surprises". And the ending... omfg, the ending was such an incredible failure at creating a climax. It just sort of... ended, and that was that.
This movie COULD have made it up to a 5. Hell, it almost made it up to a 6 at one point, but it went so downhill in the last few minutes that I had to do some serious downgrading.

Brolly is an amazing creation of Akira,
this was a great movie, it would have been better if he was involved in the actuall T.v. series. and if they actually gave him more in depth past story rather than an unclear reason to fight goku,but the LOOSE CANON,triggered gun type a guy did well..that pyscho freak chillied my spine.

| What do you know? A DBZ movie that I've actually taken a liking to. Still not top quality, but the animation is high quality and Brolli plays the role of an insane, out-of-control villian quite well. Maybe Akira Toriyama should have considered Brolli as the final DBZ villian instead of Buu.

| The first and only good Broli movie. The movie made for an interesting scenario as it featured most of the popular DBZ characters (including future trunks) and made for some entertaining conflicts of interest. While not faltering from the basic (and predictable) DBZ movie formula, movie 8 was another of the better DBZ movies.
Unfortunately the creators of Broli (Toriyama had little to nothing to do with the movies or their original characters) dipped from the Broli well too many times. The following movies featuring Broli were some of the worst.

| Well I see that other people reviewing this either loved it or hated it, I have to say that I'm not a dragon ball z fan, and I dislike the show. in 30 episodes you get what would happen in 5 episodes of another seires. I accually like some of the movies because, since it is a movie, they have to up the pace (powering up for half a movie just wouldn't have worked). If you like Dragon Ball Z you will like the movie, if you hate it your mind is probly just closed to it. LUCKLY, this move didn't QUITE follow the pattern like the first 7 did, which was, Roshi joke-> bad guy shows -> earth nearly blown apart-> really long fight scene-> spirt bomb-> the end, this movie didn't do that, instead of a 45 minute fight scene you got 30 min, also they accually killed brolly without a spirit bomb! since the movie was also longer then the others,that means there was accually room for some dialogue (other then the classic, "I'm gonna kill you" and "lend me your energy")

| The only DBZ movie that actually felt like a movie.It's over an hour (wow),and it actually has a plot.The only thing that annoyed me is the way they made vegeta go totally out of character in here.All in all,the best DBZ movie,imho.

| Let me just say first off, that when I saw this movie, I was generally a DBZ fan. I didn't like it then, and I hate it more even now. All my friends were making a big fuss about how cool Brolly was, so I decided to see for myself. I was totally let down by what I saw, which is not surprising for just about all the DBZ movies. Brolly is just a fucking whiner for god sakes! What kind of satisfaction do people get out of this guy? The animation is a tad better than the TV series, but still pretty low quality for a movie. The plot is silly and stupid, and doesn't link up with the TV series (Like ALL the movies). Also I am in total agreement with ONEGAIteacher, when I say, how the hell can Brolly remember Goku's crying from when he was a baby? Yet another flaw in the less than stunning saga that is Dragonball Z.

| why do they keep making this bullshit over and over again...IT'S THE SAME FUCKING STORY AS EVERY OTHER DRAGON BALL Z MOVIE...omg a bad guy comes tells vegeta that he is going to make a new plant vegeta and just then brolly shows up pissed because goku made him cry when he was a baby..(that right there is what fucked up this movie)...Brolly say "*crying crying* goku you made me cry i will soon kill you"..just one thing else...how the fuck would baby remeber anything like that...come on ppl what baby has ever remebered anything....

| This DBZ movie was actually pretty good (like I said in other reviews, the 1st 6 were not very interesting). It had an interesting story, a super saiya-jin with powers beyond anything else is planning to destroy everything, though he has a strange background story, he's quite different from the other saiya-jin.
Good points, animation was pretty normal, nothing special. Sounds were once again either you hated or you thought they were cool. The characters all seemed fine except when they sort of ruined vegeta's style (which I won't get into..).
Bad points, i didn't find any (i am not putting thoughts, i am stating what would be the thought of any other person..), everyone had their own opinions like "oh it sucked" or "it was cool!", etc. I myself enjoyed it quite well but to me, it's not the kind I'd watch again and again..
Go watch it, and enjoy it!

| Brolly rockt einfach, allerdings nur in diesem Movie da die anderen 2 nur überflüssige Aufgüsse sind. Die Story ist nicht übel und auch die Animationen sind ok. Auch die Battles können gefallen. Ganz klar einer der besten DBZ Movies.

| Definately not the worst DBZ Movie but also not the best. I hated the fact that Vegeta is put down as a weak fighter. He no longer has his overwhelming pride and ignorance.. from the very moment he realises Brolli is the Legendary SSJ he falls down in tears and gives up. That is SO not Vegeta
