| This 4 ep anime is only good for 2 eps, while the other two were appaling. Though I have seen the dub english version, I can say that the angel story is not inspired at all, and some flashback occur whithout warning leaving some people clueless about where the story comes from.

| I'm going to be the lone voice in the crowd and say that I actually liked Earthian as a series....no, not as a shounen-ai series (curses to judging this only as that sort of series for those who want action between the characters T_T This isn't like that at all!), but as a series in general. Yes, tragic as the events were throughout, it engaged me until the very end and I adored it, even to the point where I'm planning to read the manga. It is quite good and you wouldn't think of it to be a shounen-ai series were it not for one specific scene in the third OVA episode where the two protagonist characters are obviously engaged in a sexual manner (not shown too graphically). I almost thought of the main characters' relationship to be a genderless, if not somewhat paternal relationship before the obvious scene came into being. Be warned: Earthian is a rather dismal story with angst ridden themes and very little insight of a happy story. No character in this series goes home happy at all to be honest, and that's why I think a lot of people hate it for what it's worth.
Earthian tells the story of two angelic beings from the heavens sent to observe the people of Earth and evaluate them accordingly as to whether or not the "Earthians" should be saved or meet their demise.
Enter Chihaya, a pure soul adorned by black wings that has an unwavering love for humans and helping other people. He considers himself as a mutant with the color of his wings, but has a heart of gold that make him angelic in many respects. On the contrary, Kagetsuya is an skeptic angel of white wings and prefers not to get involved with anything or anyone remotely human. However, Kagetsuya has a rather protective role over Chihaya and the dynamic between these two and the situations they face are what compose the framework of this series.
The major drawbacks with Earthian are that too much time passes by without explanation and there's very little expansion upon the character development. Granted, the character framework is very good, and it works to the advantage of even the situations characters you meet within the story, but it doesn't leave much in the long term trade.
I disagree with what has been said about the music, it features a soundtrack of lovely 80s themes and a nice, even balance of instrumental themes. Granted, I have a preference for older animated series just as much at the new ones, but I think those who are veterans to anime series won't mind it at all.
I would recommend this series to those who like stories like Angel Sanctuary, X/1999 TV or movie, and Yami No Matsuei, where angelic beings/heavenly spirits are at work and shown with a bit of an angst ridden storyline. Granted, it's not the best OVA out there and it contains several flaws that may detract the anime viewer. But the series really doesn't deserve the low rating that it's attributed on the whole.

| I usually loved shonen-ai animes...but this, er was crap XD. I was really excited to watch this, but it let me down.
Well the idea of the story was pretty good, but eh...in the anime, well they didn't show it well enough. And the relationship between Chihaya and Kagetsuya was well not good. I mean I didn’t even notice they were a couple until episode 3, but that was just random...geez. I think they should of put more thought into the relationship in the anime, as well with the story, which was pretty bad as well. As I said, the idea was good, it was a really good story to tell, but they didn't say the story in a very interesting way.
Overall, I really didn't enjoy much of this.

| I was really disappointed with this anime. From the synopsis I expected it to be so much more interesting (I guess some of the reviewers had that problem too...:p).

| Like several of the other reviewers here, I stepped up to the plate with this anime thinking tentatively, "Well, this could be interesting." Boy oh boy did it go downhill fast from there. Perhaps my impressions were just slightly jarred by my ignorance that this was a yaoi anime, right up to a surprise bedroom scene that hit me with all the shock, horror, and male-on-male nudity of having a pair of naked men leap out of my closet yelling "Boo!" However, the gaping wounds in the plot proved to be an even more painful scar to my psyche.

| I expected alot from this anime. The title alone sparked my interest. But, unfortunately, it failed to please me. The IDEA of this anime is good, but they just don't cash in on it, like many animes tend to do. I got bored and couldn't make it past the first eps..

| Okay, I'll be honest. This anime was horrid.
The only thing that allowed me to finish watching all four episodes was the purity of the main character. Someone with good intentions who tries his hardest to bring solace to his "earthian" friends.
Other than that, the anime basically sucked. A poor music score, half-assed animation, and a boring storyline.
Don't waste your money or your time on this one folks.
