| This is definitely an under-rated anime. It is a great comedy and fantastic characters... more people should check it out. for the people who gave the low rating probably hasn't seen the whole show, it really gets GOOD towards the end.
Strongly recommended for comedy /drama fans
Also I would recommend LOVE HINA fans to watch if they are curious what characters were ripped off from battle athletes victory! to love hina. Battle athletes victory! has a great cast of characters and they are all interesting and unique but then love hina ripped off ann and tanya and made them completely 1-dimensional, annoying, unlikable, cliche, stereotypical, just a bad copy.

| I normally don't take much enjoyment in shoujo-ai stuff, but this anime only contains very little of it that I hardly noticed when I watched it quite a long time ago. ;)
The main content of this show is the character section. Compared with the OVA, it seems to be much better in terms of character development because this time round you learn more indepth information about their pasts and aspirations. I found all the characters to be unique and therefore they acted quite realistically.
Character design was also quite a plus as well, because they were easily distinguishable and "styled" in their own ways. I liked the main character's hairstyle! Never seen it before anywhere else!
The story of this anime started quite weak in the first few episodes, which tried to explain some terminology and such, but failed. In fact, they did not need to dedicate the first few episodes to explanations because viewers automatically tune into the new terms when they watch the series anyway.
This anime definitely improves later on in the series and the dramatic tension builds up as the sporting action and determination in the characters' hearts becomes more fierce. It was fun to empathize with them as they competed, but you will be surprised at what jealousy can make people do to the main character! It just feels a little extreme. Sometimes Akari even faces life and death crises (since they are in space after all)!
Battle Athletes Victory has quite an original storyline that doesn't show its true colors until later on in the series. It has good value for those who enjoy this type of sporting action, and I find it to be more intense (with more drama) than others like Slam Dunk. BAV is not one of the best sports animes out there but it's definitely not the worst.

| Frankly, I was quite surprised after watching this anime because my expectations of it were low. However, it turned out to be a wonderful surprise because it was entertaining and humourous. Character development was also flawless and even though Akari can get on my nerves sometimes, I found myself rooting for her after every episode. I liked all the characters immensely, yes, even the sneaky Chinese girl who always tries to cheat :P
This is a series worth watching if you want a fun time!

| Well I can't really describe this but as the worst piece of sh*t I've seen so far.
Some things worth noting: Too much meaningless crying, too much cheesy scenes, lousy background music and theme songs, too simple and over-used personalities, at times some really weird character development, lame settings with some world-wide catastrophe (how original..), boring/uninteresting/over-hyped/cheesy/annoying twists in the story, bad comedy. Unbelievable sh*t all the way through.
There's nothing original when you figure out what's going on here.
I started watching this thinking, that I'd see something new with this kind of series but oh, how wrong I was. And of course I had to finish this because I had already started. What a pain.
I think there were some very basic morals about ie. friendship and the power of humanity scattered along the frustrating storyline. But I really cannot give them any value because of all the other crap shown on the screen. And so it goes with all the other possible positive traits this show might bear. I just cannot see though the negative things in this case.
Countless were the times when I found myself ripping my hair and screaming in disgust and anxiety which Battle Athletes Victory created in me. I don't wanna even try to make a decend review out of this one.
For real sport-fanatics only. Ehhh.. Yeah, right.

| Fun series to watch. Akari and everyone are a little too emotional about things but that's not unexpected. The races aren't too realistic (you don't get that much flucuation in the lead in any race) but I don't expect that the writers know anything about sports anyway and everyone does it in entertainment anyway. The story's plot twist at the end was no real big surprise (you should be able to guess most of it) but still made it enjoyable. The humor's pretty good (I love the Akari house 1-3) and her really stupid facial expressions. The "surprise" character at the end's personality is a hoot too. Overall an enjoyable series.
(By the way, why does Akari have rabbit ears?)

| Awesome anime. My favorite of all time with Kodocha!
I am not a big person for shoujo-ai but you can't help but love Akari, Kris and Ich-chan.
I was a tennis player growing up and I do like and can identify with the issues brought up in the anime. Shadows of famous parents, watching good friends surpass you, loosing a rivial, and of course the feeling you get when you feel like you are "flying".
My favorite part of the anime is when Akari is getting ready to run when she steps off it sounds like a bird getting ready to take flight.
If you have 13 bucks to spend, this is a great series to get, 13 bucks for licenced DVD at all stores.

| Well, I watched Battle Athletes first because I had nothing better to do, but watching those 3 OAV's made me want to watch the series and I'm happy to say that I LOVE it!!! Its one of those miraculous anime series that actually has a GOOD ending! Everything finished, and concluded, no guesses no what if's. I LOVE IT!!! ^_^ Anyway, its a funny, romantic (lots of obvious yuri) and sweet anime about the journey of a girl to become the next Cosmic Beauty.

| Cute, if slightly cliched, sports anime, with lots of cute, entertaining characters, and a neat storyline. Seeing Akari go from having lower self-esteem than Shinji to becoming a great athlete who never gives up is nothing short of enjoyable. I really got to finish up this series (I've only watched up until episode 10).

| One of the first successful sports animes to make it over to the states. Animation and sound were ok, story was a little predictable, but it still went over remarkably well. Character development went over pretty good, although a bit stereotypical. Its a cute little thing, an inspirational feel good show.

| This is probably the best "feel-good" anime out there -- while it's not for everybody (sports + shoujo-ai + sci-fi?) - this was one of the first series that I really enjoyed enough to watch over multiple times. Needless to say, this was a much better experience than the six part OVA.

| This anime is pretty average. Although the story has some SERIOUSLY funny bits, and the characters tend to be interesting (in spite of their stereotypes), there were just too many episodes involving Akari feeling like she couldn't do it, only to be inspired to "GO FOR IT," etc. Mr. Miracle was hilarious, tho I wish there was more time to elaborate on the bizarre plot twist in the last couple of episodes. I don't feel I can comment on "value," as I rented them all from Netflix, and that's how I recommend anyone else check this one out.

| A much better (and longer) story than what was given to us in the OVA. The anime does features a lot of cliches and plot devices that one can see coming from a long way off, but the show is fun.
It is definately cute and funny. At times it can be quite endearing. I like the large cast of characters that makes up this show. There are many moments of great hilarity.
This is another fluff series, but I kind of like its heartwarming attitude. Action freaks will probably not care for this movie, and those who like "serious" animes will probably pass also. They will be missing out on a fun show that is good if you turn the mind off and just go with the flow.

| Chalk up another win for Battle Athletes Victory, it's got a new fan. While I enjoyed watching the OVA's I wasn't prepared for how good the TV series was going to be. Retelling the story from start (unlike the middle like the OVA's) the TV series focuses less on pushing the story forward, and more on pushing the characters forward. A novel idea that creates a large cast of likable characters that you can't help cheering for. A great anime for fans of more character driven stories.

| I found it to have a lot of sailor moon undertones, girl pride and such. I will admit im no fan of sailor moon but i enjoyed this series. It starts out good then kinda goes down in story quality but quickly turns around and is even better then the beginning of the series.
