It's strange, I watched this not more than 5 years ago but I don't remember much, to be honest, I almost couldn't recall anything except for the ending. Well, I have to read some summaries first so I can write something here.

For some reasons I couldn't make this review longer, I think it's because theres not much to talk about this show. This must be my shortest review ever.

Here it goes, please read (^_^)

The animation is dated and though to be expected from a series made in 93, it is still cumbersome and sub-par compared to the animes of today.

The soundtrack blends into the background, and I can't honestly remember one particular tune that stood out. The Japanese voice actors were especially fitting for their characters, however, and Belldandy sounded like one would imagine a goddess would sound like.

The story wasn't anything to involved or detailed, as you would expect from this extremely short anime series. In fact, one could easily understand the entire "story" merely by watching the first and last episodes.

As to the characters: it is obvious that Belldandy and Keichii were the main focus of the series as Skuld and Urd were not developed in any way and served merely as time filler and comedic side characters and had nothing to do with the plot. Belldandy herself also seemed pretty shallow: she was the typical housewife: content to cook and clean for Keichii and not expect anything in return.

We do know that they spent 9 months together by the end of the series, and perhaps Belldandy and Keichii did more together, but just from watching the series it appeared that all they did together was eat and talk to friends together. There wasn't much development or growth to their relationship on screen. In fact, by the end I wondered how they felt so strongly for each other when I hadn't thought they had much of a relationship at all.

I gave this anime an above-average value rating because it was the first of its genre: a tradition followed (though surpassed) by the like of Onegai Teacher.

I semi-enjoyed this series, but it was far too short to get me involved with the characters and by the end I still felt like I was attempting to get to know them when abrubtly the series ends.

This anime was made in 1993, so animation isn't great as of now. It was probably good back then. Characters have a good amount of detail and a lot of effort was used to do that. Even though there were a lot of artwork, the lines on the characters looked very sketchy, making them unsharp. Background can look picturesque from time to time, but that's only on focused parts. There's a lot of white blurring/fading, making the background hardly viewable. The Background lacks detail and sharpness too.

For this anime, I watched the English dub. Opening music sounds okay; it's the simple cute type. Ending is the same. It's not bad to listen to, but isn't great either. In-anime music is plentiful, but not noticeable, or antyhing splendid. Sometimes it's too subtle, and other times it's too simple to recognize much of it. Sound effects are pretty nice, but not very noticeable as well. The English voice actors were pretty good. They put in great personalities into the characters, and each has a unique way of talking.

In the beginning, the story has quick and forced. A lot of the development was skipped. Instead, I got to see spectacular events, and a dramatic ending. The story would have been better and more fulfilling if the anime was longer. Sometimes, the story and certain events were cheesy, i.e. Urd's spellcasting, or overdramatic and nonsensical, like Keiichi becoming unconscious from supposedly being drowned. How is it possible someone become unconscious if he has to spurt out water from his lungs? The story isn't perfect, but the last two episodes with its dramatic ending make up for it.

I loved the characters here. Belldandy wasn't original, and I didn't get to know alot of Keiichi, but I got to learne about the other characters very well. Plus, the other characters here seemed very original and unique, from Aoshima to Urd. I didn't take too much of the main characters, but the other characters were one of the best character designs I've seen.

For the haf of the this anime, there were memorable events and occasions that seemed special: the motorcycle event and the great dramatic ending. The first two episodes were quick and nothing good, except to present characters. They were lacking development. Instead the time went into the last 2 episodes, making it very enjoyable to watch. Ah! My Goddess could have been better if it was longer, thus it would have included relationship development between Belldandy and Keiichi. But I think Ah! My Goddess is a nice little anime for people seeking a quick and a very good dramatically ending show.

Few times have I come across such shift in my life, that before it and after it my perception changed. Thus I rewatched movies, or reread books and it left greatly different impression on me, than it had left before.

But first time I had so avidly experienced such change in perception without any change in my life at all.

I've rewatched 'Ah! My Goddess' recently, and I was greatly surprised. A!MG when seen for the first time was a pleasant watch, with nice humour. Recently my opinion was: "jee, it was so naive! I almost choked with it!".

I discussed this with friends and fellow anime maniacs, and I've come with answer. How much You will like this thing depends on how many of it's kind You've seen.

A!MG is one of the first harem anime, without great plot, but with enjoyable characters, full of nowadays hackneyed solutions. It's goody-goody, and it's supposed to make You feel good after watching.

Nothing special, a bit old, naive, and while interesting at times, is also boring at times. So if You had seen a lot, You might want to skip this one out.

I had many mixed feeligns while watching this anime. At first i thought it was the best thing ive ever watched, then once marller and skuld got introduced it went WAY downhill and i could barely watch it. It basicaly went from a touching romantic story to an annoying little kids show.

The animation was pretty good, belldandy is probly the most beautiful anime girl ive ever seen. urd and skuld were drawn very well too.

I really liked the opening song, it was really nice and relaxing to listen to and i felt it really captured the serious/romantic feeling of the anime. the ending themes were alright too, but not the greatest.

The storyline is what really ruined this anime for me, what could have been one of the greatest love/romance anime's ever created got turned into a boreing and annoying kids show packed full of filler episodes.

Belldandy was by far the most perfect anime girl ive ever seen, i dont think anyone could ask for a nicer and more pure girl. Urd was also a surprisingly good character as she was always supportive of the two main characters relationship. Skuld however was the most annoying mistake to ever happen to this anime, her only real pourpose was to interupt the romance between belldandy and keiichi and provide lots of filler episodes.

Overall, id have to say this anime is an emotional rollercoaster. you will love it, then hate it, then love it again at the end. It has some really nice romantic sceens, but unfortunately you will have to suffer through many fillers to get to them. Belldandy alone makes this anime worth watching, but dont expect a very gripping storyline.

A romance classic with a true "laugh out loud" comedy experience. Stunning animation and music that would attract any anime fan whether the romance genre appeals to them or not. Animation is detailed with precision and emphasis on clothing, hairstyle, and the motor vehicles. The music is really catchy and has feeling and emotion to it but not quite used correctly. There is no transitions in the linking music. At times, the story really makes you question about the logic but extremely enjoyable if realism is not a priority to your enjoyment to anime.
AMG is seriously worth watching!

I had a good time watching this, and it was mostly a enjoyable story about the three goddesses living with the lead character. Both the animation and the music were done magnificently during the time. And the side characters were great of difference of personality and their feelings toward Keiichi. However, the story should've been more in-depth and have growth development from the relationship between Belldandy and himself. I wasn’t too enthusiastic with the series when I watched it, but it did made a good storyline as an OVA, compared with the other series. It was a fine romantic series on a overall scale. I would make it a worthwhile watch.

This short OVA series is definitely worth watching. I would even go as far as to call it a 'classic' anime that is a must see.

First of all, Belldandy is probably considered one of the 'better' female anime personalities. Her 100% pure nature just makes her seem so mystical and desirable in a sense. (dont think im weird for saying that, I'm sure others think even more extremely).

Because few other anime characters /series can pull this type of personality off without getting annoying, Ah! My Goddess is great in its story and character.
Keiichi's character is annoying at times, but that creates a sense of tension (even though it is overused). Skuld and Urd have their own great stories, and all in all, this OVA series is worth watching as the 3 goddesses encounter a bunch of funny and awkward situtations.

I'd even recommend watching this before the TV series, because the TV series kind of draws some stuff out to the point of exasperation. I even semi-prefer this to the manga because the introduction to the characters are my favorite parts and it kind of bottles the essence of Ah My Goddess into just a few episodes.

Oh! My Goddess is the sort of show its hard to hate, yet is conversely hard to get particularly excited about, either.

Telling a sweet little romance story between a man and, um, a goddess, OMG really fails to work due to the weakness of the characters and the banality of the storyline.

For a romance to work, you have to care about the characters - sadly this isn't the case. Keiichi is a cardboard cut-out hero, with little distinguish him other than a love of motorbikes. Secondary characters Skuld and Urd seem to have no adequate reason to be present, in as much as they don't do anything at all.

Lead heroine Belldandy is the most horrific, however. Apparently quite content to just wander around being 'nice' and 'pretty' for a man whilst cooking and cleaning, she is an absolutely sickly sweet character with all the personality of a blackboard.

But you still, can't hate OMG because it really is just 'nice'. As unfilling and insubstantial as a McDonald's Happy meal, but not a bad show per se.

Just - y'know - 'nice'.

I got this cos it was short. Wasn't expecting much out of it, and was pleasantly surprised. This was in more ways than one similar to Onegai Teacher, in fact, I'd go as far as saying Onegai Teacher stole its idea from this anime. the basic idea of the story is practically the same. However, I thought Onegai teacher was a horrible anime. So... where did this succeed that Onegai Teacher didn't?

Was it the animation? The animation for this so-so, not as good as Onegai Teacher (even though my score would indicate otherwise - the animation ratings for Onegai teacher were dropped in order to achieve the average I wanted). Belldandy didn't look as stunning as everyone makes her out to be. :P

The music? I REALLY liked the music in this one... the end theme is just so catchy and charming. In hindsight, it probably did a lot to tame my attitude towards the anime. The only bit that was a bit off was the music being played at climax in the last episode. It was a tad over dramatic, and would have been more suitable in a mecha battle or something. Other than that, loved the music. Especially the end theme. It's just so catchy!!! Voice acting was a little on the weak side. The voice actors didn't sound committed enough. Yes, the sound certainly went a long way to making this better.

The story... as you might expect from someone who thought the Onegai Teacher's story was ludicrous, I thought the story for this was a bit ludicrous too. But for some reason this seemed a lot less so than Onegai teacher. It felt like it was flowing much better. Maybe it is partly because of...

The characters - I felt the characters in this were much better portrayed. Initially, I thought it was a little weird how Belldandy just took to the guy straight away, but as it went on, I actually managed to find the relationship between the two main characters a lot more believable than Onegai Teacher. I actually cared a bit about what happened to these. And at the end, all the motives were explained anyway. So this is another one of the major factors that lifts this far above Onegai Teacher.

I would describe this as a NICE anime, one of those that make you go "awww". It turned out to be pretty decent especially considering I didn't expect to like this much.

Not quite my on-guy-many-girls type. Shamelessly appeals to the computer geeks where heaven is one giant OS. Not quite how I'd like my girls, I guess... not feisty enough. Granted, I have not read the manga or seen the tv series.

Still, the OVAs are beautiful. The female voices are heavenly. The music is soothing. The story may be abbreviated due to the fact that this is only a short OVA, and hence, character development also suffered.

For one of the early commercial releases, this was a good welcome. But given the other materials that are out now, there are better in this genre (ie. Love Hina).

This anime succed in showing that romance can rule over anything and with a simple story but could be related to real life.
The 5 eps are short but adequate as romance & girl angel protect guy kind of story.

The Oh! My Goddess OVA is one of the best OVA's I have seen along with Ranma 1/2 and R.O.D. The story is suprisingly developed for a show of a mere 5 episodes. This show combines two of my favorite things comedy, and fantasy. It is also part love story but this only adds to the greatness of this OVA. If you want to know more read on.

Over a decade old, for as short as this show is, it holds up fairly alright, but other shows following its lead have set the bar higher. I'll give it high value points for being one of the first of the genre, and adding a nice twist with the goddess theme.

Keeping in mind this is an older program, the animation isn't bad at all. Of course, it's almost unfair trying to compare the animation style of shows today to shows like Oh My Goddess, so I'll give it a higher grade than I would have initially as far as looks go.

The music in the show isn't particularly wonderful, but I do like some of the jazzy melodies that pop up from time to time.

The show is way to short to build any kind of gripping story, so they just kinda try to introduce you to the characters really really fast, assume that you can connect with them regardless of the lack of any history for any of them, and vague explanations for most everything. Eh, what can you do, it was 5 episodes.

Belldandy may have been the inspiration for many later incarnations of characters like her (Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi to name one) who would be the all but perfect beauty who loves their mate unconditionally, but the main guy Keiichi is also the generic main character who seems out of place with the girl he has, and everyone envies.

Keeping in mind the show is older, and that many others may have gotten their ideas from this one, I'll be more forgiving, but I can't help but feel like this was more of a short trip through the same ol' stuff, only the girls living with the guy are goddesses rather just regular women.

Average, and kind of lacking in the fulfillment department just because of its short length. Normally a show following this style or genre needs the typical 13 episode base to build a good story and strong characters.

AA! Megami Sama (or Oh! My Goddess/Ah! My Goddess) is a short OVA series that has a wonderful cast of characters and interesting story, only problem was that it was too short! But, like all OVAs, the problem is trying to tell a complex story in only a short amount of time and given amount of episodes. Yet, AA! Megami-Sama OVAs doesn't tell a complex story, it's a simple one about a guy who makes a wrong phone call and ends up with a Goddess on his doorstep. :) From then on, it's the story (though rather non-tangible) of how the young Keiichi and lovely Belldandy come to terms with each other as well with those around them.

I personally thought the series was enjoyable, and in my eyes it's a classic anime, but the story, while original in premise, lacks a cohesive plot line, the episodes are...well...episodic, meaning some don't have a concurrent link between them and seem like fillers, but they're fun ones, at least. And if you're a romantic comedy anime fan (with some bits of drama), it shouldn't disappoint you, especially with the likes of Urd and Skuld running the show. ^^

The final episodes of the OVA mark a change in tone and certainly employ a twist to the series one couldn't have expected from the beginning, which was refreshing. So, all in all, I look back and really do enjoy this series for what it was worth, despite a few shortcomings.

Considering this was made over 11 years ago, this is awesome anime!

Animation is fluid, characters are pretty and very unique. It feels as if this is made in 1998 or 2000, rather then 93! Sound acting is also spot on! All of the goddesses have their unique personality, which get's reflected in their voice acting.

Story is very good, given it's length (5 eps only). It does gets some confusing towards the end, like reasons for recall-order . But this will hardly bother you since it's so short.
This shortness gives it a very rushed feeling. Episode don't really continue, they tend to jump! more like if there were a couple of eps missing in between :P

Still, this is 1 anime which is short, light, yet filled with comedy, feelings and emotions. Very enjoyable.

This series moves slooow. And i don't like the way they play out the romance at all. Belldandy irks me somehow, she seems so useless, a lost sheep, without Keiichi's companionship. And Keiichi, he's useless too. Grrr! I get so frustrated watching the both of them! Be honest already!!

Apart from that, the animation is surprisingly good (are u sure it's dated back to 1993?) the music is okay too, though the OP and ED are kinda kiddy. Character designs are cool, but i hate Belldandy's seiyuu! She seems so unnatural with that voice of hers! It distracts me from focusing on the show!

But anyhow, i'm sure a lot of people will like this anime, simply because it's simple, light-hearted, and drives on your teenage fantasies.
