| I just can't get enough of Saint Seiya, well that's what I use to think except when I remind myself about this OVA's. The animation sound and characters are still the same, but the story is such a nightmare! I mean, why on earth is Lucifer in this anime? I thought it was based on mythology and so Hades is the equivalent to Lucifer. And there's also the deal with the ends: in the four OVA's Seiya wins the battle ith Aioro's cloth and rescues Saori by killing the bad guy (or girl) with an arrow. And they aren't even written by Kurumada, so the story sucks.

| I rather say all 4 OVAs are awesome. However, the plots are exactly the same. However the most enjoyable part is to show Kurumada Masami sadism as he always let the gay and faggot character being killed in vain. For example Orpheus and Aphrodite who are gays being killed cruelly by Ikki (of cause they will be embarassed by Phoenix Genma Ken to show how cross gender they are before being killed by the powerful Hoyokutensho). On the other hand Shun (gay member of Seiya team) being a totally useless. He (or she based on your judegement)always lost to another gay fighter and he/she need Ikki to save his/her butt. Even though, Shun still try to show off and got beaten by another gay e.g. Abel, Corona Saint, etc. Also plenty of gay gods including Abel and Lucifer, who wear a very thick make up that even a bar hostess won't put on as much as they did.

| Watching these four movies--and yes, they are movies, not OAVs--is like watching the series. Well, if the series was condensed into a forty-five minute package, all character development was non-existant, and the story was really REALLY stupid.
Hmm, I guess it's not really that much like the series at all.
For the longest time, these four movies were the only thing avalible on HK DVD. Quite frankly, I'm of the opinion that they scared more people away than actually made more interested in the series itself.
Not only are the movies not very accessable to those who haven't seen the series before, but they are also incredibly boring to those with no background on the Saints and their motives. ("Huh? What are they fighting for again? What's going on?")
In these movies, all the characters are reduced to stereotypes, and not very interesting ones at that.
While it is possible to sit back and enjoy the movies if you know the backstory of Saint Seiya, they still aren't very good movies apart from the fighting, music, and animation.
Best to avoid, unless you feel you must see everything StS related.
