| Great show! The early episodes may be boring and are lacking of story. But if you stay patient for a while, the story gets quite exciting, and you will find yourself in the world of One Piece.
The sound track is perfect. It has been more than 400 episodes but they are still using some of the early background music, if you ask why, because they don't get old, they always give the same feeling when you listen to.

| OMG please stop praising this lame show!!
Like many people, I was suckered to watch this crappy kiddy anime for the peer pressure of watching it and the glimmer of hope of it getting better. After watching nearly 200 episodes The main characters are nowhere near their goals, or doesn't really seem to care about it anyways. The amount of praise this anime gets is borderline ridiculous. It has been said its alot better than their contemporaries but simply being better than mediocre anime isnt very convincing. Im looking forward to the not helpful votes

| Well after watching 408 episodes and reading the manga to get a quick idea of whats to expect in future I think this is a good stopping point for me to review the masterpiece of an anime-series which is One Piece.
At this point it’s kind of cliché to even review this anime due to the massive number of reviews written so far but in reality I feel that one piece STILL does not get the standing ovation it deserves.
And maybe the ridiculous and continued FAILED Americanisation attempts of it is to blame……well anywayz it still beats ALL anime-series to date.
Yep betta than dumb Naruto and even the cool Bleach series.
Animation
Drawn in a lets say “misleading” comical sense that can present the series as slapstick the animation complements the idea of a simple comedy - which is so far from the whole picture.
Intense battle scenes can make you think your watching the most serious and brutal of anime, combined with very distinctive facial expressions of laughter, anger, disgust, misery and every other colour of the rainbow - its actually refreshing to see this basic style of animation depict such a range of emotions.
Over the years you can see more detail has been put into the simple animation design without any artistic compromise…a fantastic and unique feat in my humble opinion.
*A Special shout out goes to all the Fan-subbing groups for adding fantastic graphical text for character special moves (Kaizoku fansubs, Vegapunk etc)*

Well..well
Firstly…let’s start by just saying the original Japanese audio is flawless in every way Openings, Closings, Background & all character voices PERFECT.
Secondly & Sadly
4Kids entertainment have forever stained and ruined the one piece experience for countless Europeans & Americans who sadly watched the horrific English dub and got a totally unreal one piece experience and although Funimation entertainment has taken over and re-dubbed it, its not only too late but still not up to scratch again. This just proves the fact that some anime just cannot be applied correctly to other regions without losing the spirit of the anime!
Sorry for the mini-rant but the true one piece fans are just fed up!
Japanese audio is perfect and English dub should be avoided like the swine flu!
Story
One Piece is an action-adventure story about pirates trying to live out and reach their individual dreams…while trying to stay alive in the process lol!
At first glance one piece can appear to look like a slapstick pirate comedy but it’s so much more. Every character has a story in one piece and there are probably 100+ stories that could be told but the anime focuses on the ever growing Straw Hat Crew and each character of the crew. These stories usually involve a traumatizing childhood, a pivotal character related death and a goal for that character to achieve (told beautifully I might add).
These stories are just brilliant and I must say out of all the long running anime series I’ve seen Dragonball, Pokemon, stupid Naruto and Bleach etc - One Piece just feels like there’s hardly any filler as all the episodes just seem to contribute to the straw hat pirates adventure!
With exception to the historical special arcs found more recently which are mildly comical but not like 130 eps (STUPID-ASS NARUTO!!!) ahem.
Character
Characters are what make one piece so fantastic I mean its such a big topic I’m at a loss for words
As I said before One Piece has a HUGE number of characters From Crewmates, Marines, Civilians and SUPERVILLANS. Yep One thing One Piece does well is VILLANS these villans are the definition of pirates where killing attacking manipulating and even beating women & children is all fair play.
The characters in one piece just tend to bring out the emotions in its audience Luffy will have you laughing and rooting for victory, Nami will have you wondering do all women love money this much and Zoro will have you saying should’nt this sword guy be in samurai champloo? Lol.
Enjoyment
One piece is easily the anime I have had the most pleasure enjoying in my anime career and I tend to use it as a pick me up emotionally, as most fans will tell you one piece has a very therapeutic quality to it..yep that’s a weird thing to say but if you agree with me chances are you hit the helpful button below this review.
Value
In my opinion one piece has something for everyone Action, Adventure, Comedy and trust me even though people don’t mention it this anime can actually bring ya to tears of sadness and most definitely tears of joy.
This is one of the few anime I say makes me proud to be an anime fan its just One on a Million i would just warn people to not be fooled by its slapstick appearance and STAY AWAY FROM ANY AND ALL ENGLISH DUBBED VERSIONS OF ONE PIECE IT’S THE EQUVIALENT TO WATCHING POKEMON…actually that’s insulting Pokemon…sorry Ash!

| One Piece is one of the greatest animes ever created. It is also one of my favorite. It
is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anime lovers. The plot is one-of-a-kind and superbly detailed. Characters were memorable and very realistic.
The characters evolved as the series goes on and I simply love how unique characters keep coming in.
I wish that I could be inside One Piece and have a devil fruit POWER!! yeah! that would be awesome .

| When l first heard of this anime from an friend l wasnt easily impressed by its whole content.
I thought l had seen a lot of great anime in my days, and this was just another outdrawn overrated anime serie like naruto
l really regret those thoughts and what l said that day.
This is without a doubt the best anime l've ever laid my eyes upon.
Tho it started out pretty annoying the first few episodes with an character named Coby, but thankfully he dissapered shortly after.
And then an calm slow evolving adventure takes place in finding really interesting and unique characters that has goals of their own in their world to fulfil on their journey
Despite of the really enjoyable humorous side of One Piece it can take fast turns and become very serious and deep in an surpricelly good way that has schocked me meny times during the 397 episodes of pure enjoyment!
Its the small parts that makes it so significant and makes you WANT MORE AND MORE and it never gets old. like for example Sanjis love rejections, luffys stupidity and their iron will to never give up.
One thing that really schocked me the most was that they actully have impressions of eachother in own world and that makes it feel more personal, alive and less stale
And that was effing genius and makes it very unique and funny!
So furthermore if you love adventure and ofcourse pirates, this is the anime serie you have been waiting for, if you havent heard of it or doubted it. 10 years of One Piece and its still going strong and gets better and better by the years of the whole 397 episodes, and can easily get 150 more episodes judging of what they havent done yet before they will reach their goal ONE PIECE!

the animation sucks at first but it will get better to be one of the best
The Sound is totally breathtaking The openings is really great i got the Whole OST For this anime
For the story each char has hes own story and all this anime contains all ever u wanted to see
i really did enjoy this anime that i watched like 50 episodes a day and it sucks that i have to wait a week 4 each episode
the value is definitely 10 i will watch this anime over and over again

| I think this anime is one of the best I have seen. There is seldom fillers and when there are they are not boring. It's a light hearted anime but can still be serious and astounding. It's an ongoing anime so there is still things to be seen.
Unlike some other anime the best part isn't the beginning. The quality of the anime doesn't stay below the line after some of the first stories. It goes above and below. Other animes tend to go up and down below the line, if you know what i'm saying.

Characters are perfectly made, Story is reaally long and well construncted (almost noo illogical things), sound is wonderfull, value is really high, and the enjoyment should probably have 20 points or more. For shounen lovers it's a 100% must-wacht, and storylovers, gag anime lovers also. Even older people must give it a try, because it's soo perfectly made.

| The best anime that I watch. NOT to be judged by english dubbed version, not even for animation value. I couldn't even watch the first episode of one piece on tv cos i felt sick looking at it.
The anime, however, is very very enjoyable to watch, with a great storyline and brilliant action. Also great comic value. Animation and drawings may look a bit dodgy to begin with but you get used to them and eventually become among the best quality in most cartoons I have seen. Not just for kids, in fact, not at all for young kids.
10/10 anime. Has everything I could want.

| Like many other people I didn't like One Piece just because of the different animation. I first caught a glimpse of it airing on a channel in the US, and thought what is this kiddy cartoon.
Fast forward a year and it has become my Favorite show ever.
What's so unique about this show? Well basically it could go on forever and never get boring. The main draw here is the adventures, With each arc brings something new and original as they continue the quest for One Piece.
I am not the type of person that will laugh out loud at something on TV unless it's REALLY funny, but with this I found my self chuckling all the time and even busting a gut. Seriously this anime is hilarious and it never gets dull.
In a nut shell if you want to watch something epic with great action decent drama, amazing characters, and is just plain hilarious then One Piece is for you.
Don't just push it off like I did, watch it past 20 or 30 eps and you will be hooked. It's just plain great entertainment.

| I hated One Piece at first glance looking at the freakish characters (i thought i was watching Dr. Slump but in a more bizarre way) but after watching the series i have to say that...
This anime is F U N N Y ! ! funnyyyyy!
I laughed a lot at every situation...i think the comedy is similar in some way to the *Pirates of the Caribbean* style, while Luffy being more retarded than Jack Sparrow haha xD
It has the most likeable and original characters I've seen in a shounen anime, i loved every one of them! the characters have a sad past, but are trying to fight for their dreams.
The animation and story are very faithful to the manga, the colors are very pretty and clean, like the artbooks of Eiichiro Oda.
This anime is pure enjoyment don't compare it to Naruto or Bleach, even though it has some similarities like ALL Shounen-Jump series, ONE PIECE IS TRULY ORIGINAL!! ^^

| Una de las mejores series de anime cómicas (después de G.T.O). Más que una aburrida historia de piratas buscando un tesoro, One Piece trata de un grupo de hombres que son convencidos de una u otra forma por Monkey D. Luffy, el pirata de sombrero de paja, para iniciar una aventura, la que sin duda transforma totalmente el carácter de cada uno de los personajes, pasando de ser egoistas, ambiciosos y superficiales buscadores de tesoros, a ser personas casi sin darse cuenta terminan luchando por la libertad y la justicia. Los carácteres son uno de los puntos fuertes de la serie, tanto por los poderes que entregan las frutas del diablo, como por la gran diversidad de villanos que encontramos en la serie. Aunque no es tan buena en animación, la diversidad de caracteres hacen que se vea mejor. Bueno, la recomiendo, pero no es de un estilo que pueda gustar a todos. Si te gustan las series cómicas, definitivamente no debes perdértela

| oh pleeease, finish it already!!! i used to think one piece was great or at least good. and i still think so. but its just way too long already!!! who wants to see 300 episodes of pirates fighting other pirates and searching for the hidden treasure on the grand line? well i dont.
when i started watching one piece i liked the humor and the weird characters and the little stories when they got to new islands and all the funny stuff they did like eat too much or get angry at the stupid stuff someone did to them. and i mean it was good like that for a while.
then it just started to drag on so bad that i couldnt care any longer. i still download and watch new episodes sometimes, but its not like i expect to see anything new anymore. i cant even remember what episode it was i watched last time? who cares, they are not going to find one piece til much later, because the creator has said he wants to make the manga much longer.
i can understand kids still like it. if i was still a kid im pretty sure id like it too. but ive grown up since i started watching one piece so ive moved on to better series.

One Piece is great when it concentrates on its original humor, however, whenever it tries to get more serious (and it does this a lot) it falls flat on its face because of its conventional characters and childish blabber philosophy.
If it were just for me I'd feel reluctant recommending this show to anyone. Unfortunately, seeing how popular and liked One Piece is around here I can only warn you that you shouldn't watch it when you want something intelligent. However, if your favorite shows are the type that take least brain effort to comprehend, then you should give this anime a shot. Maybe you will join the majority of people who are praising One Piece.

| I gotta say, I tried to watch this anime 3 times. The first time I watched ep 1, I thought it SUCKED and couldn't bring myself to watch the 2nd. The second time I watched ep 1, I still thought it sucked (cause of coby... i'm not a fan of him at all XD). So finally, I say to myself, I said, "Self, cry an effin river and GET OVER EPISODE 1!!" So the third time, I watched the five episodes. And in the blink of an eye, I'm currently on episode 212. I KNOW. It was like BAM. Course, having the hots for Zoro helped out XD.
Animation: I KNOW a lot of people think the animation for OP is crap but seriously, after watching animes with art that's so shoujo, it HURTS, I'm grateful for the straight forwardness. And the art (to me) isn't that bad at all. In fact, look how hot Zoro is! (sorry, there goes my bias brain)
Sound: There's a TON of openings and endings in this anime. Most are good, a few are bad. One of the first things I notice when watching ANY movie/anime/drama series is music. It is KEY to creating the appropriate mood. And lemme tell ya, OP has some NICE ASS tracks. If anyone has access to OP Original Soundtrack, hook me up :D.
Story: As original as can be, it doesn't just stop at pirating. There's the element of the Devil's fruits, the world government, four kings, and lots lots more. Also, the very well placed humour just makes me laugh out loud in public.
Character: THE best part of One Piece. I fell in love with ALL the characters. I LOVE Luffy (blunt and not the brightest crayon, brain wise. however, enthusiasm wise, he ranks NEON XD), Zoro (GAWD someone open a window or I'm gonna drown in my own drool), Usopp (I have to wash my underwear thrice a day thanks to this guy. can we say, creamage?), Chopper (omg, if they made Chopper plushie, I'm first in line), and the rest (I like Sanji, Nami, and Robin but they just don't stand out. except for Sanji. HE's annoying sometimes with all his Mellorine lmao)
Overall, and by golly, this is getting to be a BOOK, watch this anime. You'll never regret it. Heck, before you know it, you'll be on episode 200 :D. I'm gonna be one sad puppy when this anime ends. Hopefully, its going for the record of 500 episodes XD!

| OMG... where to begin... I started watching this anime years ago and have never turned back. Naruto and Bleach both fell by the wayside with their stupid and endless fillers. Even the One Piece fillers are really not that bad. I have not only kept up with all the English Subs but I have rewatched the series all the way through at least 3 times. Definitely, the best anime plot that has ever been contrived. This is simply the best anime that has ever existed and I have watched a lot of anime. It is a crime if you like anime and do not give this one a shot. BTW, I am reviewing the subtitled version. The dubbed one would receive a "3" from me at best.
