| Black Magic M-66 was just not that good of an OVA. Its old of course but that wasn't my major gripe, I just thought the story was lame. The androids were not very good, one gets destroyed in the first twenty minutes. I found the journalist chick Sybel VERY annoying as well. If you want to know more about this inferior OVA read on.

| Not really one of Shiro's best work, since it was flawed on the whole storyline. It did had some decent action during some scenes. The story seemed to be less interesting at times, but was mostly involving with a story with some mechas looking like marionettes. The animation was less than mediocre at the most, with the character designs and its settings. And the music wasn't really memorable on my part. It was just too average for a sci-fi anime. I wouldn't really want to watch it again, or give it too much of a recommendation.

| For as much flack as this, and alot of other Shiro anime-manga conversions get, Black Magic isn't all that bad. The story is paper-thin and the characters are all pretty cheesy but none of that seemed to bother me very much. Action runs throughout the 45 or 50 minutes that this goes on for and it's there where the show realy shines.
All I can say is sit back and enjoy a hot, piece of *** reporter save the day 1980's style :)

| Black Magic is an old anime but it's better than Gundress. For an '80 anime, the animation is average, there is only one scene where I was impressed by the animation (the scene where a helicopter shoot the android).
The sound is oldy but as an old anime, I should not critic that.
The story is very bad (it's only a 47min anime, so we dont have time to develop a deep story). It reminded me terminator.
At least, I enjoyed the action scene, the idea of martial art android is good.
If it was a 90min anime, I think it will be a good one.

| Enjoying Black Magic M-66 has everything to do with accepting it for what it is. It is not Shakespeare. It is not out to enlighten you with an amazingly deep story.
This anime does however present some of the best action scenes I have ever seen in any animation. It had me captivated the entire 45 minutes (and for a man like me with an internet age attention span that is hard to do).
Turn the lights off, turn the volume up and enjoy this one for what it is.

| This is one of Masamune Shirow's less appreciated works. I, personally enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who likes action anime. The main thing I appreciated about this anime: almost EVERYTHING was animated. In normal anime, you see stationary backgrounds. In this one, everything blows up, collapse, and incinerates. The fighting is kickass. It's not just mindless punching or "attacks" like most anime. There is actual strategy involved, not to mention an arsenal of lasers and rifle-darts.
But like I said, it's not the best anime out there... but definitely watch it if you like android/fighting anime.
