| Like all others I don't know how the manga ends, but it's better than the anime series, where you want to kill shinji because he's such a crying baby and can't make simple decisions on critical times. In manga you can find a Shinji less whinner and a Rei ayanami more less passive. One of the best manga i've ever read.

Since hundreds of pages were written about Evangelion I wont go into detail.By reading manga so far it sure has an intriguing story, good characters and design so that for an 11 volume manga I found it one of the best. The mecha fights are also very well designed. The characters make the reader feel for them. It may derive from the anime, but after watching the anime I have to say the manga is an excellent addition as it adds many new elements to the story and much better character developement in some cases. I'd advise those new to Evangelion to read the manga first, if possible all the volumes, so that the anime will make more sense. There are also other mangas about Evangelion and though I havent read them yet I'd recommend them too since the anime requires the viewer to be well prepared to understand the plot. Now with the Evangelion live-action movies in production, directed by Hideaki Ano, even more will be added to the Evangelion universe.
One of the rare cases where a manga adapted from TV is better than the original.

| the overall mystic plot was great and i loved every bit of it. also the charater animation and incredible design add to the intensity of the show

| To tell the true, i´t´s difficult to compare the anime with the manga,first of all, they don´t have too much diference,however,the anime show more fanservice than the manga,but the manga show more emotions and more fellings about the original characters of Evangelion.
then,its a great Manga, one of the best mangas i´v read.
I reccomend to the people who loves mecha,sci-fi and mature themes

| I think that this story is excellent.
I was involving inside it when I was reading.
I found all the characters very interested and the story was so high!

| Indeed, this is a superb manga. I've seen botht the anime and manga, and despite the fact there very much the same, the differences really hand me some more insight on the series. The storyline is moved by a main objective of defeating the Angels yet the extra information from other characters add more interest. I highly recommend you guys try this one out. You'll problably like it :)

| I've read until vol 6. At the begining the story is same as the anime, but later (since vol 4) the story is a little different... in facts it different quite a lot. You must read it (and watched the anime) to understand what i am talking about.
Don't be surprised if the manga's ending is different from the tv series' or the movie's.

I heard that it'll be finished in 2005 or early 2006. Think a total of 11 volumes...not too sure though.

I know there are more then 4 fricken volumes, animenfo needs to update this pretty soon.
Great Manga-like the anime is great =)

| Evangelion is one of those stories I just don't get tired of. The manga is different from the anime in that way that we have more insight on what Shinji is feeling. Sadamoto himself said that this was something he would like to try out, maybe get a better perceptive on what Shinji was really like.
So far, I've read 6 volumes and I enjoy it as much as, if not more than, the anime. Evangelion has always had a special place in my heart as it was one of the series that introduced me to anime and manga(the other two being Rurouni Kenshin and X/1999).

| I did not care much for the evangelion anime, but i was surpised by the manga. Im also surpised aparently not many people looked into the manga to my knowledge, the story is there but all the "holy crap im going crazy" scenes are not there or are cut down, never once did i hear I MUSNT RUN AWAY!

| Evangelion is almost like the show. Their's only a few aspects making the anime different, but the manga IS better then the show.
