Hey, a solid love story involving a teacher and a student where the student isn't a girl. This was an imaginative series with some interesting twists and turns in the plot. I definitely put this one high on my personal list.

Animation: Animation was above average. It can be clearly seen shadow/light contrast that gives a 3-D view. Faces were detailed enough too, but everything was hand drawn with no computer graphics. I missed more color play, like in KNgE.
Sound: nothing impressive alhtough charcters' voices stuited well their age.
Story: I was not fond of the main story theme: A guy more girlish than ANY girl in the whole world. A couch potato who just lays and does nothing, while everyone else around him has to work their butts out just to make him happy otherwise he will go to his beauty sleep. Moreover, the orgy symdrome is strongly felt here too.
Character: characters were realistic, like the Mizuko or Kei's friends. Still, Kei's character neither looked realistic: aside from the girlish personality he always tries to be a good boy and live for the others. No traits of darker nature that would produce the more ralistic character.
Value: I would not want to re-watch this anime again, simply because it arouses all of the feelings opposite to enjoynment.
Enjoynment: no enjoynment at all. There were a glimpses of my interest when Kei's friend's relationship was depicted, but it was 5 min in 288 min series.

this was a very enjoyable series that i watched straight through. yeah, i'm a little partial to the hot teacher-young student thing and i do love Inoue Kikuko's voice and there's just enough ecci without turning me off. the comedy was just fine here with hyosuke and kei's uncle throwing in their part.

overall it's a decent romance story that isn't amazing but i never took it that seriously. i was pulling for a happy ending the whole way through because i unexpectedly got to like the two main characters.

don't try to look too deeply into this anime. i simply indulged in the fantasy that a hot teacher could fall in love with a student. but it was also a (surprisingly) touching story of forbidden love.

Please Teacher could have been good with a bit of tweaking, but instead it settled for mere mediocrity. I was initially turned off by the premise of a young boy marrying an older female alien, and the plot actually just got worse from there. This anime could have been better if it focused more on the inherent comedy of the situation, or even if it decided to be a meaningless ecchi, but it instead tried to be a fairly serious love drama that was more annoying and unattractive than serious or romantic.

The concept of a young(ish) boy and an older woman falling in love is just not interesting or appealing to me, and since that is the main thrust of Please Teacher, I was predisposition to dislike it. However, it also adds way too much needless drama to the mix. This anime is the most soap opra-ish anime I have ever seen. Relationships are all intertwine to wreak havoc on everyone involved. The main characters make dumb decisions all the time just so the creators could add extra drama to the show. At times I just wanted to scream at the characters and at other times I didn't care what they did at all. If you like the idea of older woman/teenage guy relationship, then you might like this series. However, even if that were not a problem, this series suffers from plenty of other faults.

I would not recommend this series. There is nothing terribly wrong with it, but it has no exceptional or redeeming aspects either. It is just mediocre throughout. Watch Love Hina, Fruits Basket, Chobits or ever Mahoromatic instead. Though none are perfect (Fruits Basket gets close), they all are better than Please Teacher in some way.

Average Score: 7

Please Teacher is a enjoyable romantic/comedy to watch. The pacing was well done even if there were a few filler episodes in the middle. The drama was surprisingly well done. Although it has its flaws, I don’t regret watching Please Teacher.

Animation :
Very neat drawing and nice landscapes. the characters are a bit too similar though. Good color set. Seems everybody agrees over this point

Sound : well paced. Entro and Ending are both smooth and nice to hear. No disappointment at all and the relevant stress when necessary. Supports the story well.

Story : the science fiction potential was wasted, but there remains a very fair love story with an interesting plot. regretfully this was a bit short with 12+1 eps. excellent humor, no ecchi, not too much fanservice.

Character : strong point of this anime . All has been well commented in previous review.

Value : a collectable item that I would consider as a must-buy. Will be happy to rewatch it

Enjoyment : Got hooked to it. No way to me to stop watching this. This was an uncontrollable urge. One of the few animes that brought a grin on my face and sometimes made me burst in laughs.

In short, highly recommandable.

This anime gave me mixed feelings as it was a good romance in a sense but it also lacked a certain something to make it more epic. Therefore in the end the anime just ends up being good, nothing more nothing less.

The animation is awesome, I usually give animation and sound a 7 unless something special or eye catching is present. And in this case there is. The animation is well done, the characters are not extremely detailed per say, but the soft colors used makes it easy on the eyes. The background details are really well done, they look picture perfect in some scenes, you can tell the artists put time into drawing this piece and is the reason why I decided to give it a 8. The sound is actually a let down for me, usually I give an 8 if there is some song or voice acting that I found memorable, but in this case non of the characters voices or music appealed to me, so I downgraded the score to a 7.

The story is about a hot alien that comes down to earth to make sure that the world is on the right course… how this is done by just visiting just one school, I don’t know. She meets a young man (very weak looking) and they fall in love with each other at first sight. A very shallow story and will probably turn most viewers away, but I stuck with it and even though there are some fillers throughout the 13 episodes it was fun. And I thought the relationship between Herikawa, kei and kei, Kazami was well executed. The ending sequence was very well done and unexpected. Therefore I have a bitter sweet feeling about the story score, as a whole it was kinda kid-like but it was well executed at times (including the end) so I decided to give it a 7.

The main character is a big wuss, and therefore I can’t stand him at times. The guy is supposed to be 21 yet he acts like a little kid. Well there is a good reason for that, but still it pisses me off to no-end with some of the things he says and does. Herikawa and The teacher are pleasant though so it balances it out for me. There is side character romance involved in this one, so that is a plus. But sometimes I feel kei and the teacher don’t click well together and it seems “non real” at times, but at other times (the more romantic times) it is fairly well done and we can see they do in fact love each other.

Overall, a good show. It has its ups and downs and they seem to come at regular intervals. One moment you will feel that this is great and touching anime, while other times you will fell this is downright silly and painful and feel like skipping though scenes. This is strange considering there are only 12 episodes. However this is a must see, it is short therefore you owe it to yourself to give it a watch. You may like it a lot more that I did, then again you may not – it all depends on how you look at it.

Onegai Teacher is one of those anime that surprises you, for good or for worse. When I saw episode one, I just thought this was the common "OMG Teacher-Student crazy situations" and my interest was not on it.

And this isn't like that. it isn't comedy or ecchi based. I'm not a huge fan of this genre, and I'm not saying it is the best anime of all, but it was ENJOYABLE and that's a great thing.

It focuses on the romance situation between Kei, the student (And surprise surprise, he's 18) and the alien hot teacher Mizuho. They have barriers, like the age difference, and the whole race thing. And besides that there is Kei's disease...

The characters are realistic, and they somewhat evolve thru the series. Sometimes they are flat dimensional tho.

Just watch this anime. I watched it on 2 days, it's a short good anime, I don't know if it's worth to watch again, maybe just for enjoying Mizuho's great drawing... who knows...

This review is based upon the dubbed version (though I have seen both Original Japanese and Dubbed). The Dubbed version is reviewed because it was the first I watched and it's my preferred audio of the two.

In a Nutshell, Onegai Teacher is much like other anime in this genre, it's a very typical storyline. What sets Onegai teacher apart however, is that it's probably the most well done anime of this genre. For this reason, it should be in the Top 50 anime. Don't be scared off by the synopsis on the main page. This isn't an adult's only anime. It's pretty heart-warming to see that love works despite barriers. Something other anime which touch on sensitive topics often fail at.

Animation. I gave this a 10 because it's drawn so nicely and despite being 4 years old, it still holds up really well in comparison to 2006 anime. It's also because in a genre where animation is often not a high point, the animation in Onegai Teacher particularly blew me away. It ranks very highly in this area. The Characters are well designed, the backgrounds are well done and basically, it never put a foot wrong in terms of animation.

Sound. This is one of those anime which steps outside of the norm, the norm being the dubbed version being really inferior compared to the original japanese audio. The dubbed version is really good, I don't think I ever saw a part where the mouths were moving and there was no audio, or vice versa (something that often happens in other dubbed anime). But it gets better, I felt the voices really suited each character.

Story. No you didn't read incorrectly, I gave it an 8. Pretty high for an anime of this genre. It's not because the anime had an overly complicated storyline with twists and turns. It didn't. This anime deserves an 8 because it does it's simplistic plot so well. I never felt that the anime rushed it's plot, a great achievement considering it's only 13 episodes long.

Character. One of the high points. Each character was quite unique. The majority of characters were enjoyable, though some where borderline annoying and some were just plain annoying. This is to be aspected from a romance anime. BUT, the characters i did like, I absolutely loved. Each character matured (rare for 13 episode anime) and they actually grew up (emotionally).

Value. I think this anime is well worth watching and rewatching. I've rewatched this one several times. Warning though, the parts you dislike from watching it for the first time get magnified when rewatching, to the point where you loathe aspects of this anime. However, don't be discouraged, this is one of the best (yes I said best) of the romance genre. You won't suffer depression from watching this, but you won't find that it's all happy happy joy joy.

Overall, Watch this anime. Simple as that. It's well worth it. Most people will like this one. People who primarily watch the romance/school life/Love triangle or square, pentagon, hexagon etc. (you get the point) anime will absolutely love this one, as it's a tight and as well done as those genre's can be. Others will enjoy this because they'll realise that it is possibly for them to enjoy anime outside their usual preffered genre.

this series has one very interesting plot and is just so funny and smexy.

animation-this series is just done so well the charcters look so good especially mizuho . the background art looks very nice, also this show also uses alot of colors for there cast of great charcters.

story-the plot had to have been the best part this was such a originol plot how a boy gets married to his alien teacher=).i like how the story also focuses on the relationship between mizuho and kei.

characters-very good cast and a large variety of different characters such as mizuho and her mom and sister are just so hilarious and just add to the comedy.

enjoyment-this is a very good series and one of the best in the romance-comedy genre .this has alot of fanservice which just adds to the goodness of this great series .

This anime is what you call "middle of the road". It's just a typical romance anime, nothing special about it.

I give the animation 9, well I don't give a score of lower than 8 in all of animes that I reviewed, when talking about animation. First of all, I don't like the character design for kei and mizuho. Do they look together? No. kei is small and thin, mizuho is tall and chubby. They look like siblings, older sister and younger brother.

I don't like the sound very much so I'll give a score of 8. Though the dubbing is nice, I don't like the songs.

About the story, the plot is shallow. Just about a half alien who came to earth to become a teacher and fell in love with her student. This anime only focuses on their relationship. I remember, kei suffers from a disease, right? And they said that it's very rare, but his classmate has the same disease. What the heck? I thought it was rare? And also, the genre is comedy, romance etc., but I don't remember laughing while I'm watching this, how can that be a comedy?

In animes without deep plot such as this, the cast are the most important element. But the characters here almost bore me to death; almost all of them are serious especially the one who has the same disease such as kei's. What I feel about the characters is that I don't care about them. kei is a typical pathetic character, they are stereotypical, like you'll forget them soon after finishing the series. For me, that's the worst thing, as the characters won't leave a footprint inside the hearts of the viewers.

About enjoyment, kinda ok compare to others but I don't think I'll ever watch this again. This is recommended to those who like cheesy romance.

While seemingly another "hot older woman suddenly appears to make younger boys' dream come true" Please Teacher adds much more depth and conflict to the idea.

The animation is amazing, both backgrounds and characters are detailed and colored extremely well. This is one of the few animes where one of my first thoughts when watching the series was "Wow, this is some good animation."

The soundtrack is good but not great, nothing sticks out as amazing, but nothing sticks out as poor either. I did like the catchy opening and ending songs, however.

The story is interesting enough: we watch as Kei and Kazami struggle through various conflicts within their marriage and without, and watch as they try to become closer while dealing with many obstacles and bumps along the way.

The characters were the best part of the series; I really like the depth of Kei and how he struggled to keep on "moving forward," a theme in the series. Kazami was also very interesting: while at first glance she may appear to be a ditzy and perpetually cheerful woman, she has more depth than that, and on the inside proves just as vulnerable as any woman.

The side characters like Koishi are also enjoyable, though their backgrounds and characters are, understandably, not as fleshed out as Kei's and Kazami's are.

This anime was very enjoyable to watch and from the first episode I was hooked and could not stop watching. I would definately reccomend at least renting, if not buying, Onegai Teacher and think that for it is one of the top animes of its genre.

Animation was a wow. Background is detailed and is very varied in color. It was given a lot of effort. Characters look spectacular. The shading, lighting, and colors are just right. There's a lot of detail and effort put in, for example clothing ripples, and people look very porportionally correct, making some of the females very attractive. Framerates are great: smooth animation flows. It doesn't have a lot of computer graphics, but it is one of the best visuals for an anime series.

First of all, I would like to note that I watched the English dub. The opening theme song isn't bad, but it wasn't very splendid about it. To me, it was just above average. The ending was nice to listen as well, but nothing special about it. Sound effects are plentiful, like normal, but nothing that would wow me. In anime music is the same. And at a couple of times, when the scenes got over dramatic, the english voice actors didn't sound good. All the regular stuff is there, but nothing above average, or nothing that caught my attention.

Story is very pleasant and dramatic. It got me very involved. It's more of a love/drama/harem than a comedy. It's very light hearted. It left no questions unanswered; I understood very well how everything went. I liked how that Kazami being an alien, Kei's friends, and many other things fit well into how the plot progressed. Each played a part. Dramatic events were used nicely to captivate me, but can be overdramatic like a soap opera. The story seems simple, but I felt it was very intertwined and put well together to make it simple, but was actually well thought. The way this anime showed romance and drama captivated me.

Characters are very likable, all of them. No one has an evil personality. I liked how that every character had their own flaws, and that they learn to overcome them. Characters seemed realistic in personality as well. Characters are become very developed in the progression of this anime. For example, Kei overcomes his problem with the stand-stills (a mental problem). Plus, I really like how the love relationships between characters are expressed as really important.

For value, this is one of the greatest anime I've seen. It plays very well on my mood. The drama and romantic scenes were just right. The focus was right on the spot during dramatic moments. It truly is as great as many others have said.

I would also like to add that in episode 13, I liked that the love relationship becomes deeper, there's more comedy, and a little bit of ecchi on the side. I felt like it served as a good fanservice episode. It presented a deeper connection/attachment to the characters. It's also more sexy.

The Sudden Girlfriend Appearance phenomenon has been a staple of anime since the 80's. Ever since the manga world was introduced to this as early as Ah! My Goddess the anime community has seen a lot of this genre. Onegai Teacher is one of products of this phenomenon. And it combines this with a nice romance, a touch of drama and a ecchi to spice things to up. The result? A very enjoyable anime which provides a bundle of laughs even on rewatch.

Onegai Teacher tells the tale of 18 year old Kei Kusanagi who finds that his teacher is an alien and is later forced to marry her. And obviously they have to hide this from the school where they go. As far the plot is concerned - it's cliche. It is obviously aimed for the male masses. However, with a romance added in the anime, this series should appeal to females as well. And unlike a normal romance (where everything is a bed of roses), the leads have genuine problems which are resolved quite well. And this is a rare series in which the leads gradually fall in love after mariage (and not the otherway around). In the backdrop we also have a drama relating to 2 of Kusanagi's classmates (Hyosuke and Ichigo). While the drama is no masterpiece, it is good enough to keep the series interesting and back the series up. Onegai teacher is meant to be light entertainment and should be seen as that only. It is not deep and is not meant to be that either. The comedy in the series is done well. The comedy is based on interferences of Kusanagi's friends in the lives of the couple. Some episodes like (episode 7, 13) are funny to bone providing a gale of laughs.

The characters of Onegai Teacher are nothing great that they stand out as exceptional when compared to characters from other series. I found this series characters quite similar to the characters to Ah! My Goddess manga. It doesnt take a genius that Mizuho is the voluptious version of Belldandy. Maho (Mizuho's sister) is a complete rip-off from Skuld. Mizuho's mother is like Urd - sexy and keeps giving the couple incentives to get together. Kusanagi is very much like Keichii. The list of comparisons is quite susbstantial. This aisde, the characters are very likeable. Considering the series is light - they didnot try to develop the characters too much. The only characters that are developed are Kusanagi, Ichigo and Mizuho. All the rest are pretty much static. But its not a detterent considering that this is a light series which is meant for a fun watch. In a single word: Likeable.

Onegai Teacher is a very good series. The mix of comedy and romance gives the series a very good rewatch value. With liberal amounts of ecchi added, it is not surprising to see this series high up in the top 200. I myself have seen a few episodes twice (the 13th epsiode four times!). Add to this the nice animation and good sound - Onegai Teacher is a very good 13 epsiodes series with high enjoyment guaranteed. Get it and enjoy! Or as Mizuho says: Make it your priority one!

Quite bad promise. Hot space alien babe falls in love with sickly high-school boy. I would probably never watch this kind of anime.
Very good execution. What makes this anime shine are the strong side charchters and the absence of any filler. The relationship between Kei and Mizuho is sweet enough, but is not enough to fill 13 episodes. This were the strong side plots come in place. Mostly all side charcter are well devloped with just enough screen time to not become boring again.

I am definitly recommeding this to anyone liking romance anime.

Had it for awhile...guess I'll review it now. Onegai Teacher, preculiar as the name is, the anime is really intriguing. It poses a unique story which obviously to attract the male mass but at the same time it provides enough romance to appease to the women.

The story is refreshing. A beautiful woman teaching and falls in love the student (hence the appeal to the male mass part). Through the course nurturing their love for eachother they face obstacles ranging from the typical to the out-of-this-world(haha, fits with the anime) weird.

Characters are well... good but not great. I wish I can say more but I've seen a lot of their personalities in other animes before. So maybe it's just me. Nonetheless, the cast of characters present a wonderful mix of love affairs, humors, and straight common comedy.

Sound is great. Two thumbs up for the openning and ending. "Love is a Riddle", I must say is part of my favorite list. The voice acting is nicely done. I, however, still prefer the Japanese VO, but that's just me.

Overall, I would say this anime would be a worth a watch recommendation. It has that love-romance theme mixed with a refreshing twist on the story.

I first watched Please Teacher about 18 months ago and felt this uncontrollable urge to watch it again after having just finished Please Twins ^_^
The first time around I didn't really enjoy this anime, I just couldn't believe in the premise of a beautiful female alien falling for a pasty geek, but I went into it this time with a far more open mind and found to my pleasure, that I really enjoyed it and could overlook the faults and see it for what is was; a really sweet comedy romance.
