| Let me make this a quick and simple review...
If you don't really play the cards or read some of the manga.. you're gonna need some background info to watch this anime, or else you'll be pleasently confused. 5 magical factions. EGO, Erasers, arayashiki, darklore and wiz-dom. mind breakers are another type of magical type person, but aren't really considered part of the 5 factions who wage war against each other.
anyways the animation was beautiful. sound i wish was better. story.. like i said. you need background info to catch on or so, but its a rather pleasent story. character models rock. i pretty much liked this anime.
so when is the sequel coming out lol. one of the flaws is that it was too short for my taste. but its cool i guess.

| This is a show that is very dissapoiting because eveything it does right is marred by something else.
Let's begin :
1. Animation : The animation look GORGEOUS on still's and paper, and in scenes that don't include panning or zooming, and the character designs are very cool.
The one thing that really ruins the animation are some 3D effects, pans and zooms that look amateurish and CHEAP.
It's a real shame because it looks very nice on stills.
2. Sound - There are some nice tunes but i expected more from such a musically oriented show, specially since the music
was done by Yuki Kajuira who'se done awesome tracks for other shows.
3.The Story - This show has such a cool sounding name (Aquaria Age, catchy isn't it?) and a very interesting premise - Hidden through history, there's been a anciente 3-way battle between people with differnte abilities an affiliations that vie for domination and supremacy - this 3 organisation are Arayashiki, of eastern influence, Wiz-dom, a clan that deals with witchcraft and black magic with western inclination, and Darklore a group formed by descendants from gods and magical beings.
And now a group called EGO and another one coming from outer space called Eraser comes to join the fray.
The premise is cool but the we don't get much info or backstory of the clans having the battle, specially Eraser, which doesn't really show it's intentions through the whole show, and well, the whole plot doesn't get anywhere in the whole show.
The "battles" waged by the clans are also a dissapointment because we don't see much more that lights clashing..we don't see the actual fights.
Also love story is entertaining but it doesn't get anywhere you would'nt expect, as well as the main charater's foray into te music industry...nothing new.
4. The Characters - The main character, Kyouta is quite uninteresting and kinda anoyying....but the supporting cast and some villains are interesting at least and i think they don't get as much scree time and the should've.
The character desings on th other hand are quite cool for everyone, and they make the show seem more interesting than it really is.
In the end I can say this is a passable show, because it kept me interested enough to watch it trough and it isn't bad, but i paid for it so i kinda forced me to finish it too.
After watching show like R.O.D the TV and GITS 2nd. gig in the same time frame as this, this one's like a joke and really doesn't hold a candle to show of that caliber.
Recommend to pass time, but if i had the chance to rewind time and do everything again, i wouldn't have bought it...you can live without it.

| It's a shame this anime doesn't seem better thought out. The basic idea - living among us are warriors fighting an ancient, 5-way battle - should have had promise, but it's trying to do too much and not devoting enough time to any of it.

| It's been a while since I saw this show, but I found it rather enjoyable. Nothing groundbreaking, but entertaining nonetheless.

| Holy crap. This is some holy crap. I enjoyed the music. That's about it. As far as I can tell, it was meant to be a romance, but they utterly ruined it with the incoherent magical girl transformation fantasy war thing. I think I would have liked this much better if it were just about the difficulties of a music career. I can understand the depth in the first half of the last ep, and I thought maybe they were going to finish up with a good ending, but I was wrong. If you haven't seen this, refrain. Save yourself the brain cells.

| Aquarian Age zählt zu der Sorte Anime die eine Ewigkeit brauchen bis sie zu Potte kommen. In den ersten Episoden passiert so gut wie nichts weltbewegendes und die Story zieht sich wie Kaugummi. Selbst die Tatsache das die Story wirklich gut und originell ist kann darüber nicht hinwegtäuschen, es wird zu wenig aus dieser guten Storyline gemacht. Der Konflikt der Mächte wird sehr oberflächlich dargestellt und auch Kyouta ist ein ziemlich unspektakulärer Charackter der nicht so den Eindruck vermittelt das man sich in ihn reinversetzen könnte. Erst gegen Ende nimmt Aquarian Age ein wenig an Fahrt auf doch da ist es fast schon zu spät und man interressiert sich kaum noch für den Ausgang der Geschichte. Diesem Anime muss man Zeit geben das stimmt aber was macht man wenn diese Zeit dann verschwendet wird...? Was aber sehr positiv hervorstach war der super gelungene Soundtrack mit haufenweise schönen romantischen Stücken, sehr hörenswert und einer der wenigen Stärken dieser Serie.

| I always appreciate anime with good soundtrack, and Aquarian Age OSTs are nothing less than magnifico! The story line is beautiful, mainly revolving around the relationship between the two main characters, Kyota and Yoko. The other characters are just there to make the story flowing. :P But that's the bad points. There's no explanation of who or where they came from for some characters, which makes the anime kinda blurry. But it doesn't stop me from enjoying it! ^^

| Well actually i was kinda dissapointed as i watched the anime, i mean its not bad but its definitely different from what i thought its gonna be,this anime is based on trading card game which is really a boom in japan i supposed. But the animation is good and the music is great (well its kajiura yuki,they even have the korean version of the OP song also if im not mistaken^-^)Anyway as now the second season is out this April i hope its going to be better than the first one,I wont miss the second season definitely^^

| I first picked up the show just because it was done by A.F.K. however after watching it I ralized that it was worth my time. To get one thing straight you cannot review or judge this show until you get to at least episode 8. So ignore those losers who said "I've seen up to ep 4 and think this sucks" It follows Kyouta the lead singer in a band who happens to be a key in the fight between four fighting factions. It does move slow but is worth it.

| Interesting show. Definitely original in its concept (being a Macross fan, I can stand shows built on song). But the show didn't do enough with the concept and the anime starts off way too slowly before things begin to actually happen. Animation is average when compared to today's shows. though I like the character design. Music is the part of the show which u can't fault. The mix of pop/rock is quite good. The potential with the story's concept is there but the storyline doesn't do much positive. I couldn't find myself attatched to the characters either, even Kyouta. Definitely not for everyone, and the dullness of the first half of the show will cause lots of people to lose interest.

| I agree with the previous reviewers that this anime could have been much better. It had an interesting concept and a nice buildup but I found the middle episodes to be boring and the ending was less than satisfactory. And I would have love if more details were given to the groups. By the end of the series I am still confused about purpose of some of the groups and many of the characters were left unexplored. Hopefully the second season would add to this interesting world the creaters crafted up.

| This anime has potential. But the 13 episode deal kind of ruined it, because there should have been more to further elaborate the interesting story/plot,
the last 2-3 episodes seemed a bit rushed to me. Overall I have to say that this was interesting and that I did enjoyed it, the music just reminds me a bit of Yuki Kaijura from Noir and .Hack//sign but I'm not 100% sure on that, but the music is nice, just that the main song is sung a bit too much that's all, but the opening and ending are nice songs along with some of the bgm in the anime, the anime style is good but just a bit different from what I usually see, The characters in the anime are a bit short-changed in their depth of development, the protagonists and antagonists both don't have enough eps to get into some of their background or have further exploration for the watcher. But in all, I say that this is worth at least a watching, just may be a bit slow for the story to carry on though (always read the more from this review ^_^)

| Wow... looks like none of the other reviewers either knew or they decided not to menition that this is based off of a CCG (card game) in Japan. Having a better idea what the background is would probably help to review the series more objectively.
Taking elements from the game, they created an interesting drama to say the least. Unfortunately, although I enjoyed the overall story that they were going for in here, it is too short and seems to give too little information about the warring groups. More development would have been nice, but would it have warranted another 11-13 episodes? Hard to say. I reccomend checking this one out at least once though. Considering the origins of it, this was a beautifully animated series with an excellent soundtrack. Anybody else not seeing the main story parts is severly missing the boat. (Like a reviewer who says the show is about a band. That's much like saying Macross is about giant mecha.)

| A very underrated anime that is has an excellent soundtrack. This is defiantly a very rewarding anime if you watch it until the end. The storyline is a bit complex and might confuse you at the beginning.
This is not an anime suited to everyone especially if there expecting lots of action. Its more of a drama with a supernatural twist to it. Its only 13 episode longs but it never out stays its welcome so give it a go if your after something different.
Now im after its OST a definite must for any fans. :)

| With outstanding animation and music this anime takes your attention quickly. Unfortunately the song they sing gets repeated in almost every episode and by episode 10 or 11 you will find yourself cheated as you realise there will be no real story in this season (hopefully there will be a second). Judging the show as it is now, it leaves the possibilities of a great idea rather unexploited.

| Nothing special here. Watched it all and i'm left with the impression that they tried to fit a potentially cool story into a measely 13 eps so the whole thing turned out crappy. Nice animation and the music was pretty good but it just dumps a whole lot of information and details on the viewer in a short period of time.
Can't say it was very entertaining but i can't say i was really bored either as the story used an interesting concept. If you're feeling adventureous
go for Aquarian Age :)
