| I found Brain Powered to be a thoroughly enjoyable mech anime, with a more positive slant on the "imminent destruction of the human race" scenario.

| Brain Powered totaly left me in the dust. Not in the sence that it blew me away, but because I could not for the life of me grab ahold of what in the heck was going on. At the end of 26 episodes all I could say about it was that there was Orphen, everyone else, and they're fighting with alien mech things. On the other hand, I never once thought about stopping half-way, giving up, or skipping to the end. What does this all mean? I dont know, the story is confusing as heck but it still manages to keep you interested and guessing, or at least trying to put it all together. Convoluted, but mysteriously interesting story with awesome music from Yohko Kano along with some bad\retro\interesting\lazy character designs and animation await in Brain Powered.

| I think I can understand why Tomino said that this anime is better than evangelion.
- Tomino hates the pessimistical characters of evangelion, and because of that he made a bunch of optimistic and highly motivated character in brain powerd.
- Tomino hates how evangelions concludes its series, and because of that he made that humanity can still be saved if there is an understanding about what it means to be alive and all. That no living being is truly good or evil, they're all just fighting for their own survival so human as the most advance living being should maintain the balance of nature by developing understanding about another living beings.
- Tomino hates about how every single character in evangelion defies or never even mention about god (with some few exceptions), and because of that he made a bunch of religious and highly spirited character in brain powerd. Some of them even praying before each battle they face.
Well, you can exchange the word 'Tomino' above with 'I' which refer to me who write this :P. Any way I myself just love brain powerd because of the lively atmosphere of this anime. Many of the characters are very kind and always trying to understand about each other. Many of them live and struggle for the sake of their loved ones and their beliefs.
The downside I found about this anime is that the plot is too complicated for average viewers to understand/comprehend. The pace is very fast, they should made this anime into about 50 episodes instead for a better story telling. Maybe that's why in every beginning of the episodes they made a review about the story in the main character's point of view (mostly hime) for a clearance about the plot which is running about.
But over all, the story is great. And when you keep watch it through until the conclusion, you'll be rewarded with a very satisfying ending. And nobody like sad meaningless ending anyway if you know what I mean ^^;

| Ah Tomino. The man whose merit as an applauded director often becomes questionable. Oh so many times I've watched a Tomino-show without having a single clue as what's going on. He has a skill of throwing viewers in the middle of things with tiny droplets of information given out in every episode.
Brainpowerd is one of the most obscure works from the Tomino-camp yet. After watching the whole show pretty much straight it left me with an extremely hollow feeling. I couldn't honestly say what I'd witnessed. To me it seemed that Brainpowerd was a lot of noise about nothing at all. Or maybe I've missed something very important.

| I must go against the (newbie?)trend, this animé is a true masterpiece, but I understand some people might not like it, especially those who haven't seen a series by Tomino or a true Gundam (other than Wing or God). It is a highly complicated and philosophical series, with not so good animation so it is not made for a large audience.
And I don't really see the common points between Brain Powerd and Eva, it's totally ridiculous to say that BP is similar to Eva because it was planned BEFORE Eva was made. Moreover, Eva is more or less similar to Gundam, like all the mecha series since 1979, and BP creator is also Gundam's creator so if there is a common point, it's Gundam and not Eva.
For me, this show is one of the most unbelievable I have seen and probably one of the best ever created by Tomino.

| I first came in contact of this anime in 1999 when it first came out. Back then everything was mainly VHS. You could either buy the Dub for $19 or buy the Sub for $30. I went for the economical price. Boy was I stupid. The dub in this is absolutely horrible I keep on wondering if they changed what the characters are trying to say because it doesn't at all make sense sometimes. The animation is top of the line and the music is great. I love the old school character designs. But the story falls flat in many places. It try's too hard to be like Evangelion but falls far from it. It definitally has some good ideas but I feel the creator rushed too fast to resecure his place on top of the Robot anime heap.

| Brain Powerd starts in the middle of the "story" and I got flooded with new and new "characters" it was really hard to follow who's who and who's fighting who for what reason etc. I felt that the individual episodes didn't continue where they left of (I did watch them consecutively). All in all this is a horrible show with a lame and almost impossible to follow story (it tries to be mysterious but it only manages to screw things up instead). Characters are dull the only good point is the soundtrack. The highlight of the show was when it ended. Be sure to miss it!!!

| This is a really bad show, it was trying to be another Evangelion show, but horribly failed. The animation, cloths, characters, backgrounds, were so misplaced and ugly I'm surprised I didn't stop at episode 4. I hate grading an anime without watching the whole series. Because most series are better, supposedly, after the half way mark, but if that's the case. Why didn't they make it a 13 episodes instead of a whole season. It's a lot of filler and it get's better they said, my friends, during half way, but it's just not worth my time, as well as your time to go though it.
The music was the GREATEST out of the whole thing. A great masterpiece...they must of spend most of the money on the music then the show itself.
