For an anime suppose to teach everybody about being happy, this didn't really ignite much happiness from me.

However, despite me saying that, Happy Lesson is quite enjoyable to an extent, its like a standard rom(?)/com romp which is enjoyable at small doses but should be feared if you decide to watch too much at the same time.

The thing is Happy Lesson takes a generic situation and theme (harem) and instead of creating a standard romantic show, its mroe concerned about how people react to Chitose and why they want to help him (and help themselves at the process). Though the premise sounds very boring and generic, Happy Lesson is.. dare i say it.. fun. Sure its not ground-breaking, sure it won't appeal to everybody, but for those that like their rom/coms with slight touches of fan-service and very cute characters (especially the little sister) this is a good thign for you.

Overall, niggling problems like inconsistent animation, some generic/boring episodes and some useless characters are really the show's main weaknesses. Otherwise, Happy Lesson is a delightful romp that is easy on the brain and can be enjoyable if you don't take it too serious

As harem type anime go, this one wasn't too bad. I didn't mind the 5 mothers scenario, but I would have preferred it if they had looked like 20-something year olds, rather than 12 to 16 year olds. At least Chitose wasn't a geek with glasses and it was refreshing that he was almost a juvenile delinquent; it's just a shame he mellowed out so quickly *lol*
I enjoyed what I watched, but I have seen better, more engrossing harem stories than this.

This anime is a pretty average anime nothing realy to dislike (unless you're tired of the recycled idea of 5 or six girls after one man's heart)but other than it's all positive. I saw all of the episodes and I think that the TV version could have been longer, cause the last episode left me wanting what happens next. I would reccomend this anime to anyone who is making a start in the anime world.

I have seen only 7 episodes of this but i must sau that this is really good series. It's true that it really doesen't got a plot and is missing some elements but somehow i still watched all 7 episodes in one night :D.

in my opinion it's the chacrater's that make this really good because it is the one-guy-many-beautiful-girls series but i was amazed because there is no love/sex relationship. it is about a boy who's parents died in a car accident and then he got in trouble in school and stuff and then 5 totally different teacher's started to live with him as his "Mom's". They have so different personalities that make's it really funny to watch. Especially the episode when they was fighting over who get's to go parent-teacher meeting, i was laughing my brains out when each "mother" showed their "motherly love" to chitose :D.

But in conclusion if you like this kind of genre you should watch this because it is really funny and have also deep moments.

Hmm this is a pickle...
Let me just state that Happy Lesson TV is not for everyone. This is a calm semi-humorous anime that will not go good with Action adventure fans. But this is a good anime none the less with funny dialouge and action and characters out of this world.

Animation is well drawn and coordianted but the color could have been better and since there isnt any action sequences the animation is very limited to slow moving characters, objects and enviornments.
Sound is decent, sound effects are well orchastrated along with a suiting soundtrack and a pretty good bunch of voice acting.

Story-wise is really interesting... a high schooler living with 5 of his teachers just tickles your bone but unfortuntly it does fall short because the story moves very slowly and doesnt really explain alot.
Characters are not all developed but all have their own personality and traits... unfortuntly most anime fans (of dramas and comedies) will just find the characters same as some in other animes and mangas. There are not alot of characters here though, the five teachers, one boy, on class president, two sisters and two bumbiling idiots are mostly the characters introduced into the story whch disapoints me.

Overall Happy Lesson TV is a pretty good anime... with laugable dialogue and interesting characters, it just will attract you. All though this can be called another Love Hina wannabe.
If you like Drama, comedy, and calm peaceful enviornments then i would suggest Happy Lesson TV.

The animation is the same as the OVA, which is good. Also the quality is pretty good too. The sound id good because they all have the same voices, so there are not annoying ones.

The story still the same, which is the daily life of Chitose-kun with his five teachers. And how they try to give him a warm live and change him into better.

Overall, i really enjoyed watching his anime because is really funny. I totally recommend it to everyone to watch it. It is also a good anime to collect too.

This show is example of taking tiring theme and making it new again. Story of a 5 diffrient kinds of women, who raise this reluctant son. Slapstick comedy combined with tender heart of this show shine thru. With its high quality sounds/music with top notch hand drawn animation!

This is just an okay anime. Reminds somewhat of Sister Princess. In the dubbed version some voices REALLY annoyed me. The mouth movements didn't match the dialouge at all. I honestly think they didn't change anything but the langauge. The animation was fine, the opening and ending theme were good, but because of the bad voicing I lowered it to 8. This series is hard to talk about. Technically, it shouldn't come anywhere near a list of my favorite shows. The story is a jumble of excuses for 5 women to live with and torture one poor guy who barely has any personality.

And yet, AND YET, I found myself LOVING it. Why? There are a ton of "better" shows. I think I finally have it figured out. This show is one of the few light-hearted, 'happy' shows that you can find. I can pick up this show at any time, and be happy. I just love watching it. I can't help it. There's no deep story, just a poor guy getting tortured and bashed and loved all at the same time. It just feels good to watch. I have no better way to put it. This show really doesn't deserve the ratings it gets. It is better than that, honestly. It's not intricate. It's not complex. There's nothing beyond the surface story, which is so rare these days that I treasure it when I can find it.

This show is a fantastic show to watch after you finish a particularly deep show and need a break. Trust me. I have finals tomorrow, and yet I watched all of it today. Why? Why NOT?

Funny and touching, as one day lots of female teachers drop by at Chitose's place, a boy who lived alone for some time now, his live has completly changed, since his instructors at school have decided to play the roll of his mom...good animation and nice plot, watch it if you like this kinda stuff

lemme just say this much:
the whole 5 girls - 1 guy concept has been used MANY times...however, there's a reason why people keep on using this concept to create anime...it NEVER gets old! Happy Lesson proves just that, applying the "recycled" concept and adding a lil twist (girls = teachers) to make it one of the most delightful anime series I have seen. Happy Lesson Advance is even better!

The only flaw I saw...was the the first episode's animation. If you watch episode 1, then episode 2, you'll see a difference in how the artist drew the characters...and its not a little thing either; it can be easily distinguished between the two episodes. Cept for that, yea...animation is good.

go Chitose!

Not merely a more rounded version of the OVA but one that assumes you've seen it. I was a little worried that the first eps were, practically, identical. But then the story assumes that you've seen the 2nd and 3rd eps of the OVA without repeating them! Big Ups to the producers!
I was expecting this to be fluff, but it's, truly, great anime!
It's not, despite what other people may have said, a harem anime. The women with home Chitose shares a house are not love targets. Big difference between HL and LH!
Awesome characters. Everyone gets their day in the sun, and all the actors/actresses are loving it!
The two hentai guys! In any other anime of this genre they would be insignificant but here they stand out. Why? Watch and see!

Just great anime!

Some people get sick of the average-guy-lives-alone-with-a-bunch-of-girls plot... psshhh i dont though . This anime is probably my favorite series, because the characters are reallie funny and so are the episode plots. the voice actors are perfect for each character which makes it a lot more enjoyable. The drawings also crack me up too. Not really too much romance, so dont go watching this in hopes of seeing something like "Ai Yori Aoshi" or "Marmalade Boy" Everthing in this anime is just a ton of fun and its one of those animes where you can just turn your brain off and watch. The only reason i cant give this a perfect score is because the story is kind of rushed and it would be a lot better if there was more some more deeper character relationship developments instead of everybody just stompin all over chitose. ever heard of happy lesson advance? happy lesson the final? people get pissed about the ending but its only to leave room for the sequals.

I honestly would have liked to have enjoyed this show more.

Unfortunately, it tries a popular formula, with good intentions, and doesn't make any of the characters really memorable, or loveable. You know almost nothing about most of the cast, so in most scenarios, you could care less about what's happening because you feel little to no connection to anything or anyone.

The main character "Chitose" is a cookie cutter average slacker, that is not likable at all, and he has very little character depth.

This show bored me, because I didn't care what was happening at almost any point in it.

The sound effects are good for when they're needed, the opening theme song is pretty catchy.

So many others of the genre do it much better... stay away from Happy Lesson.

In comparison to the Happy Lesson OVAs, the TV series, gives you more to chew on.

Though HL TV is simply "filler," seeing as the series is nothing more than side stories focusing on each mom, the humor is at an all time high. These types of animes are simply light-hearted, fun humor. For those who need action, death, blood, gore, etc. look elsewhere.

There is even a message about "family" and life, although not very deep in my opinion.

Overall, Happy Lesson TV is a fun series to watch and be entertained.

First, I saw Happy Lesson advance before this.
Happy Lessson is almost the same with HL advance. This anime has more comedy, chitose-kun is eing molested everywhere, with every mama. This anime is light. It does have some value, hey, if you like HL advance, you will like this. Animation is par, not mindbraking. Like usual, they try to hide their "family" existance from the class pres. Characters are well designed, evrey mama has a different personality. Story, there is not much story, except chitose getting to know & like his parents.
Overall, I did enjoy it.

This is a dissappointing anime. It tries to be a Love Hina clone, but instead falls short on almost everything it has tried. Characters are weird and unispiring. The Fine-Arts mom should be more like Chitose's little sister, PE mom is like his older sister. Chem mom is like a robot, Nurse mom is like her weird aunt, and the Homeroom mom is more like his maid more than anything else. The story tries to makes the moms to have some interaction with the main character Chitose, but because of the mom/son relationship, it is very hard to get that romance/Love Hina magic into it. Also every ending in the episodes are very cliche with Chitose saying something very "touching" and "caring" that is so generic.

Happy Lesson TV to me feels like the producers want to catch on to the "Harem" craze and tries to make some quick cash with this dissapointing anime.

The 100th review. Kinda odd that I'm the 100th person reviewing this anime, but whatever..

Anyway, Happy Lesson is definitely not an anime that defines the word "original", but it does have interesting characters and plots, and despite the number of girls, it's thankfully NOT a harem. Some of the characters really suck, though; Fumitsuki might be the single mst annoying high school girl I've seen in a manga since Love Hina's Naru. Also, the animation and art are crappy, the characters are stereotypical, and the series has a deux ex machina ending designed just so the series can have a sequel (which it does).

Fun as a rental for those who like cute girls (though some episodes look really, really bad), Happy Lesson is something you have to look at first before purchasing.

Hmmm... I was kind of diapointed. This anime didn't turned out like I expected...

Well One of this animes good parts was animation the chars were drawn very nicely and there were couple very kawaii ones.. exspecialy chitoses little sister...

hmmm... sounds I guess it fall some where little above average... Some of the chars had very good voice acters when others had terrible ones...

Well then comes the most terrible part of this anime. Well this tells only about shitoses life in a house full of womens the story dosen't move anywhere and ending is left something to desire... It gets realy booring after few eps...

Other good aspect of this anime was characters they were designed in a very good way and they develobed in a nice way durning the series... well this anime only tells only about the chars and how they develop... But This was one of its strong points...

Here is the most important reason why I was disapointed... The Romance part of this anime was left behind of big shadow... Or should I say what romance part... and there wasn't any good jokes that would make you laugh... The main reason for laughing in my situation was because I was very amused, because of the characters. But there wasn't anything else that made me laugh... There for I don't consider this anime worth to buy and its rewatch value is definitely poor...
This is enjoyable in some parts, but I wouldn't wait to much from this anime... It gets booring too quickly...

It's a genre that's been done a lot, and while it's not the best of the harem lot, it's still good. What makes it interesting is that romance is not as big an issue in this series. It seems to focus more on personalities, personal trials and events, which isn't that bad really. The five teachers are quite likeable and are a very potent combo. Uzuki's livelienss and her love to cosplay and make kids happy. Satsuki's energy, her sport moves and her attire. And Misaragi's scinetific prowess always keeps things lively.

But Chitose does demean the series a bit. He acts like a compelte jerk most of the time and seems fairly ungrateful for the fforts the five teachers make to salvage his life. The inability to empathise with him makes this anime not as easy to like as Love Hina and Ai Yori Aoshi, because Keitaro and Kaoru have many redemming qualities and developed more, whereas Chitose doesn't develop too many over the series. Still, it's a fun ride and will probably slot in nicely with the others in its genre. The karaoke style of the music is fun and the animation is done fairly well.
