| Chobits is one of the "greats" when it comes to the romance/comedy genre. The animation is beautiful with great music (especially the opening theme.) The story is great with an even better ending and the main characters gel together great as well! This is one of the most enjoyable animes I have seen and is perfectly streched out (meaning its not to long and not to short, just right!) This anime deserves a 10/10 all across the board!

| A perfect anime series. Beautifully drawn and loveable characters, great animation, great music, and a wonderful, original storyline. Not only does it pull off it's comedic aspects excellently, but the developing relationship between the two lead characters throughout the series makes this one of the best animes in the romance/comedy genre.

| This anime started off really well. Mainly because the first 4 or 5 episodes were really funny. But then slowly the humor started to fade as the story became more serious. A couple of unique topics were also covered in chobits.
There are 2 filler episodes basically retelling what already happened and a few things happen in the series that I feel were unnecessary. The series really started off promising but fails a bit in the middle.
All in all it was a solid series and if you're into love stories I suggest giving chobiits a shot.

| ...what to say about chobits?...you need to be the kind of person who would like this kind of anime, now the basic plot?...guy, grew up on the farm, never had too much human contact, moves to the city to go to prep school so he can get the grades so he can go to collage, now theres these machines called a persocom and they in basic english they look human but they are basicly portibal computers, guy? he has no money and he wants one for as he describes it "i want to be able to use a computer, i wany yo be able to surf the internet!, AND I WANT TO SEARCH ONLINE PORN!" of which he sais in the middle of a big crowed. so on his way home or to his apartment more like it, and he sees a persocom siting in the garbage, he looks at it for a moment, and he takes it home. and from there the basics is, this is a custom persocom and it knows nothing but the word chii, so he has to teach it everything and such. NOW with the story line out of the way, im just going to say i liked how the whole thing like raveled out and stuff but by the end i was getting sick of jumping from my chair and shouting "WHAT A TWIST!" i was really annoyed by myself at one point. the characters, i looked all the characters in this anime and they were enjoyable, like in every anime i have seen theres that one character that everytime there there i say "god get them off the screen!" but with chobits, i liked all the characters and if one wasn't showing up as much i complained. what else should i say? i mean over all it was a good anime and you would most likely like it if your into the echhi genre, and human falling in love with somthing not human (no beastiality reference intended) then yes you will like this, but if your one of those people who dont like seeing a guy in love with somthing and all this bs, go watch somthing else

| I can see ow chobits could appeal to the right audience but all in all I was disappointed. What's really funny about my over all disappointment with this anime is that I watched almost the whole series in on sitting and was fairly excited about it most of the time. Therefore, it is hard for me to pin point where it really failed, but I guess it would be in the story and the ending. While there was nothing too unique about the characters or the animation the story seemed to have some really interesting developments that never really went anywhere. The events in the anime were portrayed as being world changing but the world never really changed. The end seemed like it would be sad but then everything changed just like magic and everything was happy!- seriously it was almost like the script writer said psyche!, thats about all the logic there was to it.
Really this anime isn't the worst and enjoyed the first half or more pretty well and only found myself uninterested when the story became messily handled (new characters popping out of nowhere, startling revelations that are really just confusing). There are a lot of typical ecchi situations as well, panty jokes, inocent girls accidentally creating sexual situations- definitely funny but in the end the attempt at depth messed up what could have been a perfectly enjoyable for what it was anime.

| This turned out to be a very refreshing love story about a young farm boy who moves into the city to procure his education.
Arriving in Tokyo he finds his first glimps into humanoid robotics, which have been labled persocoms. They are essentially walking PCs. Now encountering them on a dialy basis, he begins to day dream about owning his own persocom.
Much to his dismay, his wish soon comes true as he finds his very own persocom laying on top of a trash heap. The story unfolds as his everyday life slowly escelates the relationship he has with the persocom.
As the story progresses, he faces some challenges protecting his 'cute' persocom. And when rumers get out that this particular persocom is one of the fabled "chobits," things start getting hectic. Not only in his relationship with the persocom, but also with his neighbor / best friend and his apartment manager who turn out to have secrets of their own.
The series is very light-hearted and playful, and will bring out a lot of laughter, worry, and cheer with a dash of drama thrown in for good measure.
I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a light-hearted romance, that will lift your spirits by the end of the show.

| A welcome break from more serious anime, Chobits is a very light-hearted look into what it means to really care about someone, human or robot.
Yes, that's right - robots. If you're confused, or shaking your head thinking, "WTF?", don't despair, as the main character, Hideki Motosuwa, feels the same way, and the story does an excellent job of exploring what it really means to love someone (or something) other than another human being.
Animation was so-so, but I don't feel that it detracted from the overall presentation. In fact, the simpler style was very conducive to the overall feel of the characters and plot. This isn't exactly a very action-filled series, anyway.
As has been said in other reviews, the characters start out being pretty shallow, but gradually, a good amount of depth goes into each character. There are some minor things regarding character development that I wished would have been explored in more detail, but these things are minor. I won't say too much about the ending, but I was happy with it.
Overal, Chobits might not have had the deepest plot or the greatest action, but it was one of the most enjoyable animes I've seen in a long time. If you're knee-deep in dark, serious animes like Hellsing, Death Note, etc. and you're looking for a change, do yourself a favor and watch Chobits.

| Chobits is a nice anime which explores the idea of love through the various relationships of its characters. The humor is light, and the story takes its time in getting around to any real plot exposition (filler episodes aside). Animation is rather average and the characters seem a little plain at first, though they do eventually prove to have some depth to them. The second ending song was rather good I must say.
All in all there wasn't much about the series that really stood out about it, with its exploration on what love is as its main attraction. However, that aside it was rather like watching a bland slice of life with a few dramatic moments thrown in, though they didn't even seem to impact things at all. It definitely could have been a shorter series, especially taking out the pointless game story arc and two recap/filler shows.

| Chobits is a sweet story about an ordinary seeming country ronin and an extrordinary humanoid computer/robot that he finds. It plays with the idea of relationships between humans and robots and turns out as a lovely, slightly comic, slightly romantic, and very deep story. It's worth the watch if you're willing to give it a chance and if you're willing to think a little.

| Chobits is a very nice comedy. It's about a shy country boy that goes to study the city. When he arrives, he meets some very special girls...that finally result to be just robots, that are like tools for people. He finds them so nice, that he wants to be the owner of one of them. But he doesn`t have any money to buy one. But, casually, he finds one of the robots (persocons) in the trash! But it was not a normal persocon (you will see in the series). Very difficult to believe that strike of luck! But he believes, and he starts to try to use it. But what was just a piece of technology, finishes being a very special person to him. Strange, isn't it? Just wait and see the series. Is a very nice series, and very innocent too, and that's what makes Chobits a so special anime series.

| Chobits brings anime to a different level by exploring issues of love between a human and a robot. I thought that it was pretty original, but the anime was alittle draggy and could have been concluded earlier, had it not been for the filler episodes.
At first the starting of this anime was pretty normal, until Hideki picks up his first persocom, Chi, that's when the amusing stuff starts. Such as when he teaches Chi about the basic stuff, and how she should behave etc but it gets alittle slow when it progresses towards the middle. It picks up again when the anime begins to explore the relationships of the characters in the show, like how the Tirol manager fell in love with a persocom and Ms. Shimizu's divorce with her husband. But ultimately, it links to Hideki and his dealings with Chi.
The unbelievable part of this show is only towards the ending, just think of the Tirol manager's predicament and compare it to the ending, that's where you will find flaws with the story. But it was interesting watching the story progress even if the ending sucked IMHO. I liked the part where they speak so profoundly on creating memories even though they know that it's only with a PC.
The characters of the show are pretty impressionable, namely Sumomo, cos she's really energetic and lively, Chi's voice got rather dull after awhile IMO.
Music for the OP and ED's were average, but BGM during the show is good.
Overall, I enjoyed Chobits alot, but the ending left me feeling empty, as it didn't exactly provide a realistic conclusion, even though it was a happy one. Thumbs up for an innovative storyline anyway.

| Chobits may classed in as one of the weirdest anime i have seen and not in a good way though. Weird, not like there is anything Psychologic to some sort but The thought of a relationship between a Robot and a Human it's pretty unearthly. However since it's just anime and that's part of creating a fiction work but the idea it's still not that great.
"Chobits", it's like partly a future world where technology is pretty advanced but in terms of computers and stuff that is. The houses still look modernly the same and also some other details. Basically throughout this time scientists have created a new some sort of a Mobile computers made in form of human beings. Those beings could talk, walk but can't eat and do everything else like human being and they called them "Persocons". Almost everyone now and then have their own personal human-computers and one day came a guy name Hideki a college student who before used to be a farmer, found an almost defective persocons in a corner..That persocons has the appearance of human girl and called chii. it is at this point that the story starts developing itslef, the relationship between Hideki and that persocons chii. Chii as i said it's a defective computer but yet there is more than meets the eye, while she doesn't have any background memory or anything. In the other hand, Hideki, i wouldn't say he's an ordinary guy since he's going out with a Robot but aside that he is naturally like any other person realistically.
The animation is really perfect. the designs and everything. Their world are naturally at real the same and that's it.
I really didn't like how Chii sounded. She sounded like an hentai character and that was really annoying to follow. The soundtracks in the other hand were perfect and also the Ops and Eds.
I wouldn't recommend this anime because i didn't enjoy it. As i said the thought of a Robot and a human it's really not my thing.

| The story centers around a young post high school student trying to get into college, who "discovers" a persocom
(personal robot) being thrown out in the garbage. After switching it on, Hedeki has to teach Chii how to interact in the world, with comic results.
This is an exploration of love, so it's going to be mushy. It is also deals with extremes of love, so it's may make you uncomfortable in parts. The only love relationship not dealt in with is homosexuality, but expect some dealings with student/teacher, brother/sister, boss/employee, age difference (13 years), and parent/child.
Expect some uncomfortable situations. There is a lot of comic relef at the expence of Hideki, the lead male character, to ease the tension.
I beleve the Manga does a better job, and the anime has more "fluff" such as
the episodes dealing with buying underpants, the scary story, and taking a bath.
I believe this is a great series and recommend if highly.

| My cousin and my friend told me that this anime was good, so I decided to watch it. And overall it was pretty impressive.
Animations are simple, but they work so well with this anime. The character desings were good for each character and fits their personality. The colors are bright and lively and makes the mood of this anime feel uplifiting and happy. Personally I thought this anime was a little bland.
The OP has a very catchy song called "Let Me Be With You." Sometimes I get this song insanely stuck in my head and hum it a few times. The songs goes with the mood of this anime very well. The ED are pretty good, especially the second ending. Sound effects are find are fine and the voice acting is pretty good.
The story is pretty original. A guy named Hideki moves to the city from the farmlife. He then hears about persocons and how they help people with their lives. Then one night he finds a persocon and takes it with him. From that day on he and the persocon became friends, but the anime takes a very different look on love and relationships then other animes I have seen.
Hideki - The main character who is very funny with a nice personality. He is intrested in hentai magazines, but that is what makes him hilarious and downright silly.
Chii - The persocon that Hideki meets. She lost her memory chip, so she doesn't know anything. So Hideki teaches her the daily things of life.
Shinbo - Hideki's first friend when he moves to the city. A really nice guy who helps Hideki with persocons and other stuff around the city.
Sumono - Shinbo's persocon. (Personally my favorite character) She's really hyper and energetic and so cute. She is always smiling and full of energy.
Hibiya - Is the landlady which helps Hideki about persocons. Overall she's a really kind lady who helps things out.
There are a whole bunch of other characters in this story. They all tell their sad stories about something in the past and after that how they changed for the better or worse. There is alot of character development in this anime.
Chobits is an anime you will remember for a long time and the manga is just as good. But be warned the manga has alot of hentai pictures in it, even more then the anime. Overall you should watch Chobits even if you're not intrested in drama or love-romance.

| This is the kind of anime that just has its own crowd. Not everyone will like this one nor understand the depth of the anime itself and for good reason. Most people would say: "To turn on Chi you have to press where!?" lol and the whole cramming school thing makes you think "this guys just a lucky loser". But this anime is just not about that. Its about human innocence inside a being that isn't human and is this ever posible?? Obviosly its creators (of the manga and anime) would want to see that happen someday even though many people would think this is an abomination. This is a good all around anime and if you like complicated romances then I recommend this one for you.

| Chobits is about a ordinary guy that goes to cram school so that he one day enter an university. He (Hideki) was raised on a farm and has little knowledge of city ongoings and woman in general. He wishes that he could get a persocom "a android that looks like a human but acts like a personal computer". The only problem is that he is poor and cannot afford one, however just his luck... one persocom (Chi) is laying in the trash as he is walking back to his apartment. He decided to take it home, I mean who wouldn't? And from there on the two live in the same apartment and undergo adventures to teach Chi more and about the world around her.
This anime was really fun to watch, that was the biggest impression it left on me. The characters were somewhat memorable "especially chi". Although I thought that both the characters and story could have been developed better because they had some episodes that were just recaps, the directors could/should have used that time to better strengthen the characters. To me it just seemed that the ending sequence was rushed, it left a bitter-sour taste in my mouth... but still when I look it over as a whole it was enjoyable. It "could" have been a bit more developed and if it was it would be one of the best animes out there.
Despite some minor flaws I am sure most will find this a fun anime to watch when they have the time, and it may even be some peoples favorite anime... it is that good.

| A good anime that is definetly worth watching. I have a few mixed feeling about it though, especially about the ending as it didn't end as well as I would have hoped - bittersweet ending for sure. The "way" it ended was more of a dissapointment, I was hoping the characters would be a little more developed and given more time to develop than they did - it ended to suddenly. Only from episode 19 or so did it get serious and even then it felt a bit rushed. The directors could have used some of the filler episodes to better tell the story, oh well. Still it was very enjoyable and had moments of laughter and sadness and when I look at it overall it brings a smile to my face.
