| A light series which never makes any pretense at being serious, the series works on the familiar girls with guns set up this time using polic costumes and a large amount of bust based ecchi.

| Basically, this is is a group of girls with guns fighting. They're trying to stop terrorists that have taken over a tower in Tokyo. The primary emphasis, however, is on having big-chested women's breasts bounce around a lot.
One of the bonus features is a "jiggle counter" which counts the number of times we see a woman's breasts jiggle. In the series, Rio's chest jiggles about 120 times. The others are in the 20-50 range.

| Take a note from Najica, a slap from Excel Saga, a sprinkle of Puni Puni Poemi (far less cruder, but just enough) and you are getting close to what Burn Up! Excess is. A girls and guns rampage with humour, more jiggling than the Dead or Alive franchise would even want, and a generally enjoyable experience.

| Of all the Burn-Up series, this one is the best. It's follow the Burn-Up Warrior and story got twist at the end.
Animation is ok, but I still havn't figure how why every Burn-Up series always end up with sloppy animation or maybe they try to be funny. Like that 4 min. of nothingness except the *BEEeeeeeeeeeeeeep* of Yuji wasting his voice away.
Since they keep all the voices and chars from the Warrior prequal i give their credit for that. They shows us some past on team member although it wasn't interest to begin with. Ecchiness goes down in every ep. althou I liked them all some of you might think of this otherwise. But really if you doesn't looks ecchi/boobs in Burn-Up series you in the wrong place man. Everyone know when it come to 'Burn-Up' It's always come down to sexy female cops with big guns and big boobs.
Anyway, the plot twist was great althou didn't surpise me or should I say I wasn't expect for them to give me any story :P But year it's nice to have a real story around here. Worth my time to check out, so I now can tell people which Burn-Up sequal to watch and which to not.

| I didnt really like this series that much. It isnt horrible but its not that good either. The action scenes were bad and it was boring quite often. The animation was good. And the acting was alright too but I didnt like the music. It was really funny sometimes but its not enough for me to give this a high rating. I would say its worth renting. Im glad that I didnt buy it because I dont plan to watch it again.

| Burn Up Excess is related to Burn Up W, at least as far as the characters are concerned. The story is completely different however. I liked the fact that in Excess there was room for character development as you are able to learn a little about the pasts of main character Rio, and Maki her boss. Also there was a segment about Maya's past. All this leads to a slightly better experience story wise over the OVA. If you would like to know more of why I rated Burn Up X in this way read on.

| If you appreciate light-hearted humour and can handle massive boobs of female police-officers going BOING all the time, Burn Up Excess is a good series for you - otherwise don't look this way.
Burn Up Excess doesn't continue from where the preceding OVA, Burn Up W left, but instead tells a completely new story with the same cast of big-busted characters. In a more serious type of show the lack of continuum might be disturbing (especially so as the story of Burn Up W was never finished), but as Excess doesn't even try to be anything else than a fanservice-comedy, I can easily accept the re-start.
Further, I must say I respect that very honesty all the series was made with - there are no serious attempts to cover the overall ridiculousness in any of the 13 (mostly self-contained) episodes and every plot-twist is just as stupid as it appears to be. The individual jokes are pretty lame for the most part, but as the silly characters are played to the maximum effect all the time the series becomes surprisingly funny - I found myself chuckling several times! Sure, none of the humour is too intelligent (although some scenes of movie/anime-parody are quite clever), but that just fits the mood of the show.
There is a larger storyline that gathers the stories of the individual episodes together in the end, but it is just as stupid as the individual stories, which are amusing at their best and clumsy at their worst. Well, at least we got a real ending this time.
The whole production is made with the same careless attitude. The animation is relatively bad, as are the sound-effects and the music, but they all fit the style of the show very well. The voice-acting is surprisingly good. The funny, but simple (almost caricature) characters are the strength that carries this series safely through.
All in all, nothing new under the sun, but nevertheless a nice show to watch - just remember to switch your brain off before you start!
