| I went into this expecting the worst, since most movies based on series suck. Though it isn't very good, this is probably one of the better ones of this type. It is pretty and it sounds good as you would expect, but unlike the others, this CCS movie actually feels like the series, as well as being reasonably enjoyable despite lacking a great story or any real character development.

| Aside from cleaner animation, Card Captor Sakura the movie doesn't really bring much more to the collection of journeys that Sakura has undergone. Maybe you get to see Li's mom and his four sisters, they aren't really that impressive.
I would not recommend this anime for those, like me, who thought CCS was only mediocre but cute. The adventures were really plain and aside from the cool animation magic during the battle scenes, the movie is unimpressive.
The first 40 minutes are spent slowly on building the whole Hong Kong scenario and how she got there. They could have made this faster and spent more on the rescue scenes that was basically all this movie had in terms of interest. Again, not recommended for everyone unless you really like the Card Captor Sakura childish style of story telling.

| The first movie for CCS, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. In a sense, this movie wasn't really necessary but in the series, Kero does say that Sakura has captured some cards over the spring vacation, and perhaps this movie evinces his statement (Sakura capturing the Arrow card in the beginning of the movie). If I'm wrong, please correct me. Anyway, it's a rather slow-paced movie with less action than I anticipated. It basically revolves around Sakura going to Hong Kong on vacation (by winning a lottery) but for a reason. This movie is more for the humor, but that too dies down towards the end.

| This is a nice first CCS Movie.
It has a slow pace, what you see happening in 80 mins could have happened in 40 or so. So I didn't find it enjoyable like serie episodes.
Anyway, both char design and animation are better than tv serie; while Ending Song is really amazing and grant sound a good rate.

| I would have to say I am a little disappointed with this. I really love CCS but when I saw this movie i just anted it to end.Though it was good to see Li's family (I absolutely adore him!) but it was still to blah!I just continued to watch it for the sake that I could say that I watched it.I know pretty stupid.But the movie does have some suprises.

| It was schoolday like any other and I was having my breakfast, it was then when I decided to peek at the CCS movie...My 5 minutes for breafast ended and the grass of milk was still untouched, I just couldn't leave my room. That day, I didn't go to school...And later when my friends came over to asked for me...I had to take a COLD shower and pretrend to be sick...my real reason was just too lame...
P.S. I think that I was in HK by that year....how come I didn't see her? Too bad.

| To put it bluntly, this movie never needed to be made. Everything important in this movie could have been covered better in an episode. While the movie itself isn't terrible, it just doesn't have the magic of the original series.

| Although I watched it raw, I did enjoy what I saw. It had a great start, the "battle scene" and of course it features Sakura in a cute costume as well as Tomoyo recording and appreciating every moment.
What I found most enjoyable was the scene where Sakura flies through the Hong Kong city where you can see the many tall buildings with lights, it was simply beautiful.

| Overall, I thought this was a good movie. I have the american version, which I hear is a little different. I thought it was a really cute movie, good storyline and i loved it. i absolutely love it. I also think it's cute when ligives sakura a hard time, but goes out of his way to protect her...heh. I think this and the second movie we're equally excellent, and i could watch them over and over.

| A fine piece of work by CLAMP, but however not as great as the second movie, due to the lack of Syaoran's appearance.
The indepth story about Clow Reed and the vengeful soul was very touching. The arrow card capture in the beginning of the movie was great. It overall retained it's quality and worthwhile to watch.

| Quite nice. I do believe this movie is for the Syaoran's fans... as it introduces his family in hongkong and his background. It also gives more depth to Clow Reed. But still... I find the re-watchable value of this movie is very little... I like the tv series and movie 2 more. The ending song is really good.

| Well this was a very good movie i admit! they did a good job on making this movie! i enjoyed watching but after watching once or twice it gets tireing thats the problem.
The plot isn't what i expected it was a good idea on presenting syaorans family that in my opinion was the best part but over all the idea on that dead lady trying to get free by Clow Reeds spell and not admiting to herself that he is dead and that she herself is dead just makes things creppy! i liked the action when the dead-lady(lol) was chasing sakura but in the end everything was just a big miss understanding and eventually that women admits that shes dead. and ya happy ending. -_-
So ya i enjoyed it but its wasn't *that* great, i had expect a better movie but it wasn't that bad=( thats why i gave it a 9 in most things. the Animation was really great how they created the image of Hong-Kong like that.

| The logic of CCS was always going to see Sakura end up in Hong Kong at some stage, if only because that was where everything began. This sends shivers down the spine as one expects the producers to create a version of HK that looks entirely like a suburb in Tokyo.... But somehow they managed to create a version of HK that looks like an anime-filtered version of, well, HK. This gives this movie its individual charm when compared with the rest of the series, because there are only a limited number of times where the topography of Tomoeda becomes interesting (and you begin to wonder if the entire city is in the thrall of the loop card).
Everything else in the movie is classic cookie-cutter CLAMP, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The introduction of Syaoran's mother (an imposing figure who really could have been used more in the series) shows that this series has a lot of depth that remains unexplored.... For a kids' show. :)

| Well, I guess most movies don’t live up to the series. This is one of them. It’s still an above average movie but the series is better. By no means does this mean avoid the movie. It’s worth a look at. The story just doesn’t seem very . . . sakura I guess. It doesn’t seem to be the same as the series. And the story itself is not quite as good, though still pretty good compared to other movies based off of series.

| I really can't get enough Cardcaptor Sakura. Its cute appeal confounds me, but I simply can't help but enjoy it. The first movie gives us a nice little side story to the main story arc, with the added bonus of movie level cel counts. The animation is fluid, and coupled with the great card effects makes for an excellent visual experience. The story while passable, is pretty much just there to provide an excuse for Sakura to pull out her cards and show of some pretty spell effects. A fun ride that wraps up nicely, the movie is a must see for any Cardcaptor Sakura fan.

| A movie that tells a little more about Clow Reed, after I watched this movie I was kind of dissapointed with it. Sure it's not those same transforming cards thingy now, but the story still doesn't capture my attention as much as it's cute characters.

| Well the only good thing I can think of this movie is that it shows Li's family and gave a understanding of what his background was, as well as how disapointed his mother is of him.
You won't miss much if you don't get this movie, the second movie was only good because it was an ending to the LONG~ series.

| Hmm, well, not quite up to snuff, but still good. Animation and sound are up to the TV series standard (Great), however the story didn't appeal much to me, seeing as how it did not develop any character or tie up any loose ends. Also, the new characters seemed very shallow, having little personality. Watch to satisfy any urges for more Card Captor Sakura action (Yes, most people just want to see Sakura in all her extreme cuteness).

| If you're a Card Captor Sakura fan, this is a must see! It's almost like watching another episode of CCS, except with higher animation quality and a longer length. The story takes a new twist when Sakura travels to Hong Kong, along with Tomoyo, Touya, Yukito, and (of course :p) Kero-chan. There she meets Syaoran's hilarious sisters and beautiful mother, five great new characters. The movie is complete with enjoyable music, fun characters, wonderful animation, and a new story. Highly reccomended!
